It puts CEO and EVO in a shitty position that's for sure. If the game doesn't fixed (i mean truly fixed, not slightly) then Jebailey and Mr. Wizard will have to decide on being a part of the pro tour, and the pot bonus with it, or give competitors the best version of the game.
Screwed either way. Hopefully the game gets fixed quickly. Bad for everyone if it isn't.

SF is practially second party, so one would hope they patch it. They did patch Bayonetta's ass port so there is hope.

Either it's going to get fixed before CEO and EVO or the PS4 version is going to get dumped. There's no way that Sony and Capcom are going to want it on a major stage in its current form. It'd look bad for both of them.

The thing that's crazy is if it were just laggy menus and laggy online that still wouldn't really matter for CEO and EVO, but the game has input delay in offline matches. That's just mind boggling how that could even happen.

Yes, but with the investment Sony has in CPT they probably aren't going to want it played on 360 either...which leads to a possible PS3 option, but that has a whole other set of problems with it's 2f lag and the fact that the 360 has been the de facto SF4 tournament machine since forever.

There's reports on input delay too which is also a huge deal. I'm sure someone with a proper input delay equipment will come out and post comparisons with actual numbers.

Not sure why people are jumping on Capcom here when this is on Sony. Sony were the ones who made the major decisions here since they're the publisher (remember how Ravidrath mentioned that it was Sony who's to thank for the PS3 sticks working, as they were the publisher). It's definitely not up to snuff, but to say it's unplayable is farcical. The actual gameplay is the only thing that seems to have been ported over properly.
They do have a choice... they can not be part of the Capcom Pro Tour. They can still run USF4 on 360 but they won't be considered part of the Pro Tour which means part of that $500K prize pot of CPT won't go to EVO and it might also mean that Capcom Fighters will not stream USF4.
The choice is there but it's a shitty one.
I'm sure Sony just paid the money to have it exclusive. I assume Capcom outsourced this

Yes, but saying the game is fine for casual players is just a terrible stance to take and sets the bar extremely low. Casual players, even if they think it's fine, shouldn't be playing this mess.

I want to see if there is any truth to these input delay accusations being thrown around, I haven't played this game seriously in well over a year and I'm probably hitting my links with Bison as good or better than before. Also I'm hitting them online since the netcode has been good.

If people are considering input lag, frame delay and netcode issues to be "minor" then it clearly shows that they haven't put any modicum of effort into understanding and playing the game for any period of time. That shit matters and not only at the competitive level. If you spend any amount of time with the game than 1-2 frames does actually matter in how the game plays.
I really hope they patch this for EVO and CEO. A really sour turnout or response due to being unable to play the game correctly at such major tournaments can really affect the competitive scene.

How so? This isn't an Ubisoft situation where everything is developed in house and comes out awful so we have to blame it on them.

Sony I beleive helped with putting a patch that fixed some of Bayonetta's issues on PS3. Something similar can happen here. That is what I am implying.
That hasn't been ported over properly either- some definite changes that were unintended, Honda HHS has last hit whiff, among other things.

I guess it depends on where you come from. I'm sure that for Pro players, this reached into the "broken" and "unplayable" depths. But I can see how for non-Pro players or people who just casually fuck around in fighters (kinda like me) most of this stuff isn't that bad?
I mean, I ADORE Killer Instinct and have put over 100 hours into it, and that's despite the worst character select menu lag/chopping I've ever experienced in a game. So for someone like me, the Press Start and Menu lag aren't going to be deal breakers.
Having said that, as someone who already owns this game on 360, it doesn't seem like it's worth forking out the $30 or $40AU for this.

Not everyone has proper lag test equipment, so not sure why you're expecting proper evidence so early on.
I also don't have any reason to doubt the input delay impressions of people who play the game much more than I do and noticed the issues within the first hour. If it's wrong, then awesome, but impressions aren't looking good. The other issues like Decapre and E.Honda having move differences is also very concerning.
And the fact that it was advertised that the PS3 input lag issues were to be fixed, ugh.
