Koji Igarashi Kickstarts Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night (2.5D, backdash, 2018)

I thought the dungeon key would show all the dungeon level stretch goals, not just show a broken door and the next stretch goal.

That was underwhelming :(

Circle of the Moon spoiled everyone (and ruined things for everyone making GBA games, including themselves).

I believe this track originated from Bloodlines but the Circle of the Moon version is the one I always remember. So nostalgic for me it's insane. Circle was my first metroidvania and I hadn't played a Metroid game at all at that point.

Ah, whoops. I guess $30 is possible then, though I can see $60 and $40 may well be the sweet spot between profit and seeming like a good value for Bloodstained.

And the fact the distributor is Square Enix for MN9 in NA just makes this all the more surreal. Doubly so if Deep Silver is the secret publisher of Bloodstained.
What? Wasn't it Deep Silver? Where's this Square with Mighty No 9 talk coming from!?

The next KS goal after Wii U is two players icon with an hourglass....Good fucking lord, be a Harmony of Despair multiplayer mode. Please...Oh man!

Yes, this is really silly. Literally no difference to what it was before. I don't see the point of hiding the stretch goals. Nobody does that.

Where all them whiners at about the wiiu port first saying it wouldn't be a stretch goal and then saying it would ruin the developement of the game? We have nice heaping piles of crow for you to devour

Cool, well if wii u is getting a physical copy, that'll be my physical one, and PC will be my definitive digital version.

I'm in the camp of 'never had real hopes it was real, never doubted it either, but i'm glad it is, and it'll be the version i support'

What loading screen?

The goal below the Wii U port. With the two people and the hourglass?

It's just like the old country.

For fuck's sake the next stretch goal after the wii u port isn't an orchestrated soundtrack? The fuck are these people doing. Put these added monies to some real use.

At this point, I'm hoping live instrumentation was already in there to begin with, given the investor funding. It's possible the samples are just early demos.

The game already has local and online co-op though I assume for the whole campaign, wouldn't that basically play the same as HoD? Or are you talking about a mode where you get a big full screen castle and the two players can split up to race?

I'm distressed that we have the basement key, but all the dungeon stretch goals are not visible. It says we have the basement key and that is still the text for that achievement.

But all the basement goals are still only revealing one at a time.

I want to know everything! Tell me everything!

I will say though that two-player speed run is an unexpected stretch goal, but a cool one. It's just underwhelming for a 3.25m goal. Assuming that's what it is.

I'm still poised for a Vita port from Armature and that orchestrated soundtrack.

Give me timed levels and incredibly insane loot drop rates. I want to level a Miriam, a Gebel, a Johannes, a...shit, lemme level a Getsu Fuma. LET'S DO THIS!

Holy shit please be this.

Yissss

Oh shit! Glad I backed this now, I hope the backer physical version can be a Wii U copy if they make that goal. I love my Wii U, and off tv play for this would be sweet.

Im not sure this port will see the light of the day, just a feeling.

Yeah, I know what you mean =/ March 2017 is expected release, and I worry that the Wii U won't even be a thing at that point even for Nintendo honestly...

HoD was all about dat sweet loot.

I'm glad that if they are going to do a WiiU version, it will be outsourced- no need to compromise the main game/add time to development.

Also, at this point, I figure they are just out of Stretch goal ideas and are only coming up with them as they hit each point.

It can't be that. It couldn't possibly be something this amazing.

Yeah, no game can be this perfect. We're already getting an igavania that happens to have a classic castlevania bonus mode. And 2 player co op for at least some portion of the game.

A castlevania HD mode would be tooooo good. Way too good. Like, needs way more time and money good. Sure, it's reusing assets, but it would need a lot more time and money.

Maybe something like how shovel knight is doing its bonus stuff? Release it as future free DLC?

That played on a GBA!? HOW!?

GBA was capable of great music - but at a cost of CPU power and cart space that most developers weren't willing to give up (heck, the next game after Circle of the Moon used the GBC music channels). Here's another example of what the GBA audio could do - jump ahead to 7:12 for the end credits of Everything or Nothing GBA:

As for the next hidden stretch goal, maybe that's online speedrun leaderboards or something similar.

What kind of shit are y'all talking about? I'm only in my first Castlevania.

Probably streamed audio samples. Even the SNES games like Tales of Phantasia and Star Ocean could do voice streams on their carts via the SPC700, in fact Tales of Phantasia had opening song that was fully voiced, on a SNES cart no less.

I believe some GBA games have some voice samples too, so a streamed audio song that was ripped from Rondo of Blood doesn't seem too farfetched.

You know, since the game is set for 2017 and if we knew if the NX was a home console or not, I wouldn't mind seeing it for the NX.

But there's too much they don't know to do it.

I guess they could put the game into a holographic virtual arcade machine in the NX Hologram...

I pledged games before but I only ever gave a single pledge without increasing.

I am on a fixed budget, so say I pledged $30 this month, Is it possible to for example pledge $30 on June 3rd, and then wait until a later time and increase it. If I at least pledge once before, so it possible to add more later, or is the amount I give locked in and unable to change once the campaign ends?

Oh nice a WiiU version, through in the end I might stick with the PC or PS4 version depending what I have by 2017, but the other hand castlevania has been mostly nintendo for me, so maybe for nostalgia sake........

Is it fair to extrapolate the last few days' income as a control, and distill any increase of income from the next couple days to determine what worth the Wii U target adds to the campaign? I'm not against it being a platform, especially when outsourced, just curious how much of an extra draw it is.

It would expect the Wii U version to be very different then the PS4, XB1, and PC versions.

Only on the basis is that it is being outsourced to Armature Studio and won't be developed directly by Iga and IntiCreates.

This means the PC, PS4, and XB1 versions are going to be designed unhindered at Iga's intended vision without any compromises.

If you are pledging for the Wii U version with the mindset expecting to get a similar product in terms of scope and quality because the last few Castlevania games were Nintendo release, do be careful that what you receive may not be the same and have some caveats go along with it due to the nature of not being developed internally in house and being outsourced.
