Batman: Arkham Knight Gameplay Video – Time To Go To War

Is it just me or the batmobile is kinda unnecessary because you go just as fast flying. It's like a car in Infamous.

To me it seems like they wanted to implement the batmobile badly but couldn't really find the right way to add it to the game.

The car combat looks tedious and I don't understand Batmans combat either, he's knocking out a lot of enemies but they are holding guns and not firing at all. Maybe I'm missing something as I'm on my phone and they don't actually have guns or something. :P

I have no choice but to play this as I have my code from my GTX 970. It'll provide a nice break from TW3 and is looking great, can't wait to see what the PC version will look like.

No. Choice.

What's what I'm thinking, too. I can't see myself actually using the batmobile except when it's required in the story. Just seems faster/easier/more fun to fly.

Does this have Multiplayer btw? Was intrigued by the asynchronous MP in Origins, it may be unnecessary, but it reminded me of the old Splinter Cell MP which was great!

I'm not that interested in the SP though. Looks like AC but with a tank. Not the direction I wanted this franchise to take.

Gamespot article isnt much of a preview. It sounds like the Batfamily might be a weakness for Batman, I hope im wrong or they find a good way to deal with it if they use them as a weakness for batman without having to rescue them all the time.

No MP.

Looking amazing. Finally they show that there's actually something to the tank combat.

One thing I'm missing from all these gameplay trailers is the blade dodge takedown. Anyone know if it's still in?

Since when is being more like AC than AA a negative? You would swear AC was a universally hated 4/10 game the way these people are going on.

For what it's worth I consider AA and AC to be 10/10's, one isn't better than the other they are just different types of game.

Looks great and I'm definitely getting it as soon as it comes out but I cant help but feel the Batmobile combat could be the weakest aspect judging by this video. Obviously, I hope I'm wrong.

It looks fine but I'm not that excited anymore. More of the same with a car and less stalking your enemies although that may be open to the player but seems very much like room fighting instead of picking them off. Predator skills and interesting level design is what I hope to see more of.

Worried that this game is going to rely on the Batmobile too heavily in gameplay, when it doesn't really seem to add anything to the game.

Also, wonder how many times we're going to have to pick up people and haul them around the city. If it's more than once

I cannot freaking wait. Everything looked incredible. Love that now there is an option to pick up enemies and continue your combo now. That is huge. I also like that everything seems faster with the grappling and gliding.

The environment also looks great and is super detailed. I love the little nods they put in that reference things in the comic universe like the "Visit Santa Prisca" billboard.

I think so. In the Ace Chemicals demo, if I recall correctly, Batman takes down a sword thug in a blade takedown like way (but that didn't look like pure gamelay, but sort of like a semi-cinematic).

What's the right way?

That's the question they couldn't figure out.

The city streets are just too tight to make the Batmobile work, for example the chase scene we saw in the other gameplay video... idk it just doesn't feel right.

Let alone the car combat, shooting a bunch of tanks just looks boring.

Also the voice acting is pretty bad. Oh and i don't like some of the character designs like Eminem Robin...

But everything else looks pretty awesome, i really enjoyed the other Arkham games so i'm excited to see how it all ends.

Button prompts and saying captured on a PS4, the Press (and gaf) would go to town on them if this was not the PS4 version.

Oh, I'm sure that the thought of "gaf going to town " keeps many a dev up at night.....

Anyway, looks great. This will be my first batman game since the megadrive.

Got my Limited Edition Pre Ordered with the Bats statue . I can't wait this is gonna be so good. I'm probably going to pick up the Season Pass a bit later though.

Holly shit i didnt know that The Arkham Knight was loyal to the Scarecrow, or was the Polygon article worded badly?

It sounds like it the controlls could be hard to get into for people who are new to the series and could still cause trouble for returning gamers

Nah breh, that doesn't say anything.

Being able to call the Batmobile, hop into it seamlessly, smash through anything, hop out seamlessly, boost and, yes, use it like a riot tank all looks like it feels right. It's all stuff the Batmobile has done in past Batman media. It looks responsive and about as well-done as anyone could've strived or hoped for.

"The streets are too right to make it work" ... yet we've seen video of it working just fine. That chase scene was fucking awesome, and would only be better if there was an option (or specific need) to launch out and land on the other car, or to use the Batmobile's winch/Batclaw thing while driving.

I was hoping you'd be able to articulate what could be improved with the Batmobile, or at least have some specific criticism about how it'd being handled, rather than saying it "feels" wrong or just not liking given features entirely.

It looks like the tank combat works in a similar fashion to the Hand-to-hand fighting. Build combo to activate special combos. Get hit and you loose them. Might actually be interesting, depending on the upgrade path and enemy variety.
