Eaton Centre in Toronto set up this thing. Apparently even the fountain water is colored.

Orange soda? :D

I'd contact Nintendo - they offer replacement parts that stores won't stock. I've seen a few third-party power supplies on Amazon, but I generally don't entrust them with the safety of my equipment.

Just thrown them an e-mail. See what they say.

I spotted a few on Amazon but I really don't trust them. Kinda asking for trouble by not getting a more trusted version.

Sorry Gamemania, but Mediamarkt was already selling their stock today, so...

Gonna chow for a moment, then play through singleplayer until I'm confident enough about a certain weaponset, then it's multiplayer time!

Wooooooo. Picking up a copy after work! So excited. I'm in NYC, btw.

I'll be streaming tonight for sure. Possibly 7pm est. I'll post the link later.

I tend to enjoy simple online modes, so all this talk about minimal maps isn't really an issue for me.

I just want to hear it from those who've played it:

Do you enjoy the game? Does it feel balanced and competitive?

Does it get tiresome holding the trigger to paint the map?
I played it a lot yesterday and got to level 14 just now. I'm having a surprising amount of fun with it especially since I tired of regular competitive shooters long ago. It feels nicely balanced in terms of both weapons and map layout. You're not just holding the trigger all the time as you need to let off to squid run and refill ink/run away.

I started playing with analog sticks only but I find the y axis too sensitive in relation to the x axis so I'm playing with motion controls - which I prefer for finer aiming. Online has been smooth 99% of the time. The odd lag spike means you can still move but your ink doesn't appear which sucks especially when surrounded by opposing ink.

Fuck, just preordered the game+amiibo bundle based on this thread's hype alone. How will ai be able to juggle this, Witcher 3 (still in the second area after 30 hours), Smash (don't want to lose my built up skills!)and Bloodborne (done with base game, almost all chalice dungeons remaining)? I wish I could take a gaming vacation!

*stunned* Online only? No split screen ala Mario Kart?

There's a two player local mode where one player is on the gamepad and the other is on the TV, although it's nowhere near as good as the actual online multiplayer gameplay, in my opinion. Plus, it runs in 30fps, which is somewhat expected I guess considering it's essentially rendering two separate instances of the game at the same time. Outside of that, you can't play with couch coop online or anything like that.

seriously how much did Nintendo Spend?

If this game fails to chart on NPDs that is a lot of lost money

Nintendo just have been using their marketing $ wisely; instead of the usual TV ad roll-out, they'd rather have word-of-mouth spread and use social media & online ads to their advantage.

Got my 3-Amiibo Inkling bundle + game coming & all amiibo's too except Jigglypuff ;.;

My wallet RIP.

Gamestop rang me and informed me it is available to purchase tomorrow. Looking forward to this. Also this is my first post as a full member. Woot!

My order has been stuck on this for 24hrs now. What's going on? They haven't even begun the process of getting it to their sorting hub. I really doubt i'm getting the game tomorrow now.

Got my copy today. Played a few online games and the first single player level.

It's fantastic!! So bold and bright. And solid.

I must admit, for £23 I can't complain at all.

lol, anyone who says an 81 is shit isn't worth your time or energy

and who cares what others think? I'm going to be playing Splatoon tomorrow

It's that mainstream thing of "oh this is nintendos first big IP in decades (not true) and it's not even as good as game X? Nintendo has lost it!"

Unfortunately we live in a time where that is how you judge a game.

I will be playing when my preload unlocks.

Really tempted to go digital for this game. I'm one of those who still likes to buy everything physical... But I feel like once the online services turn off, I wouldn't have much reason to revisit the game in the distant future. Plus it will save a drive to the store at lunch tomorrow!

Bummer that getting friend matches is going to be difficult for awhile. Seems more suited to just having 1 or 2 other friends in a game at a time. I feel like we'd have just daisy-chain one person at a time until you can somehow get everyone in the same game at once. Hopefully it's easier and less time-consuming than it looks like it might be.

Looks like tons of guys peeing all over her haha

if your urine is that color please, seek help

yeah but really, who cares? this kind of stuff usually only happens in the immediate short term anyway. also if people want to judge games like that, more power to them. those kinds of habits are toxic for the industry and are one of the many reasons why we are where we are today in regards to the industry as a whole.
