TLDR: Episode 4 when?

Episode 1 - (Friday) January 30, 2015 |
Episode 2 - (Tuesday) March 24, 2015 | 53 days since last episode
Episode 3 - (Tuesday) May 19, 2015 | 56 days since last episode

So if I was a betting man I would say:

Episode 4 - (Tuesday) July 14, 2015 | 56 days since last episode

Episode 1 - (Friday) January 30, 2015 |
Episode 2 - (Tuesday) March 24, 2015 | 53 days since last episode
Episode 3 - (Tuesday) May 2015, 19 | 56 days since last episode

It was more of a rhetorical question, but anyway, yeah, it'll be mid July probably.

Also yes, probably a Tuesday, considering the PSN updates on Tuesdays. So either the 7th (which would be pretty short), the 14th or the 21st.

i thought devs could put games out whenever now?

Maybe it's like that Prince of Persia game, where Chloe was supposed to die in the bathroom and now Time is trying to correct itself by killing her in various ways. The tornado is the contingency plan. If she can't be killed before the end of the week, Time will just destroy the whole town to make sure she dies.

Based on the ending and preview to episode 4, Max was dressed in her old clothes. Given that it is so far removed from the attire and reality where she is part of the in-crowd/Vortex club, I'm going to assume she gets back.

I really liked this episode. Dripping with atmosphere and the development since the last episode was really good.

I was thinking the other day that the ending might involve you going back through that original butterfly picture you took and stopping yourself from saving her.

The most popular theory seems to be that Max will use (or even already used in the beginning!) the selfie she took in Jefferson's class in the beginning of the game to return to that point.

Then again, there's currently no indication that she could/should/would lose her memories when turning back time, she certainly didn't when she went to save Chloe's dad.
Dontnod aren't averse to changing up the rules, though.

God dammit.

I just wanted to help you, Chloe.

I feel like we're going to have to reset the ending of Episode 3 by the end of Episode 4, or else a lot of the decisions we made will be moot in the new timeline. Then again, who knows?

Jesus Christ this game just keeps getting better.

The only thing I wonder is if I did the right thing by giving Chloe back her gun. I figured that's one way less for Frank to hurt her, and for her to defend, if she can't pay him back. But then again I have a feeling she'd just end up murdering him in self defense and regretting that :\ Then again after this ending it doesn't seem like any of that will matter anyway, unless Max changes things back.

Pretty sure that's the photo they take when Max helps him with the science experiment in episode 2, but I might be mistaken.

I can't recall for certain if they took a picture.

I think it's the same one. He just photoshopped Max into it because #creeper.
Edit: Now I'm not sure that's the same pic. Is there an outcome where he doesn't have a black eye? He definitely has a black eye in the photo I took in the science lab.

I went and replayed everything so I could save the stupid plant. And this time, I stole the money because I'm fairly certain it's a bribe from the Prescotts.

Has anyone else noticed how every male character in this game is either evil, creepy, or violent? The sole exception is Warren.

Plenty of the male kids aren't any of those. Only one is Nathan. Principal doesn't seem like a great guy but I wouldn't call him either of those. I don't think Jefferson is either at this point in the story, though I expect them to play on that and reveal he is nasty.

Replayed some of ep 1 and a few things I find interesting:

The photo Max teared up is the preview photo of ep5, in both bathroom scenes she teared it up and left it on the floor, so only way to get that photo back is to rewind to the earliest point of the game (using the selfie photo).

In the classroom you can't take the selfie without looking at that photo first.

In the tornado scene, Chloe tapped on Max's shoulder at the end, but she was in the vision as well with different clothing than the present Chloe that woke Max up in the ending:

So I guess during ep5 if that "vision" comes true, it's possible Chloe will be there at the light house with Max.

Homeless Lady said she've seen Rachel with an older gent ("might be her dad"), we also find out in ep3 that the homeless lady actually knows who Frank is, so there's another person she's with if we assume that's not her actual father.

That makes me think instead of undoing the temporal chaos she is causing, Max will keep changing things, trying to heal Chloe and keep her dad alive, and ultimately causing the events the lead into the tornado.

Now that photos can be used to get back to the past, this opens a lot of new speculation.

First of all, every photo that has been taken during the plot is now a point in time we could theoretically return to. The ones I remember are:

  1. The selfie during class
  2. Chloe dancing on her bed
  3. The butterfly
  4. The selfie in bed

Are there any more photos that have been taken in the plot? I can't quite remember because some of them (selfies in Max' room, all the trophy pictures) were optional.

Pretty sure that the selfie during class will be used to return to that time. It might even be what happened in Episode 1. This was a theory from the start, but I dismissed it because "Max can only rewind a few minutes or so". Well, the theory is now pretty damn possible.

TLDR: Episode 4 when?

my theory is that the photo is just an one-off thing.

Here's my theory: Max realizes she messed Chloe up by changing the last. She goes back in time to right her wrongs and Max IS Rachel Amber. Why else does everyone think she's Rachel when she's in her clothes?

I think you're skipping like 40 steps as to how this would make sense. The characters are the same age and they don't look much alike.

Huh. I could definitely see that. As the story gets deeper into the timey-wimey stuff it'd seem likely that they could set up Max in a "both the chicken and the egg" kind of scenario, and it'd also explain why we spent some time in Rachel's clothing, which otherwise would have served no real narrative purpose. At the very least it seems certain that Max will have some role to play in Rachel's disappearance.

Edit: When you first put on her clothes I started wondering if Chloe was going to pull a Vertigo and try to mold you into Rachel.

Like I said, just a theory :) Just thought it was odd how many people thought she was Rachel. Things like that in games aren't coincidences...

There are clear thematic reasons for this too though. Like Chloe glomming on to Max to fill the void Rachel left in her life. And one of the more prominent early theories is that Rachel had time travel powers too, since she was so well liked by everyone and you can spend the first couple episodes using your time abilities to make everyone think you're cool. I think they're going with thematic parallels rather than something too plot related.

I just don't see a character like Max evolving enough in the next two episodes to be shacking up with someone like Frank.

This is also my interpretation. Als9 that photoshop thing? I thought it was one of those teenage picture next to your crush thing. Knew several girls who did that, lol. I'm hopin that this goes back to normal with chloe.

I binged up through episode 3 today and man, this series is really impressing me. So many ways they can go with the plot, very well told by Dontnod.

Random thoughts:

-Samuel's a straight creeper, wonder what's going on with him
-I hope that helping Alyssa each episode pays off at some point
-Max's continual saving of Chloe (from Nathan and the train, specifically) combined with the crazy stuff that happens afterward makes me feel like Chloe's meant to die
-Max is definitely intertwined with Rachel, but I dunno how
-The ending of ep 3 caught me off guard - I thought William taking the bus for Joyce would just result in both of their deaths, rather than Chloe's eventual accident
-I feel Jefferson has a big role to play going forward, especially with the next episode titled "Dark Room"

My stomach was already in a knot with Max making her way to Chloe's house in the new timeline. But when we got the POV shot from Chloe with Max in the doorway, I knew things were bad.

OK so the ending of Ep 3 has a huge ethical dilemma for Max and I hope the next episode faces it well. Original Timeline Chloe is messed up mentally while New Timeline Chloe is messed up physically (though you can't rule out there isn't some mental problems stemming from her condition).

If Max were to change things back to how they were without talking to NT Chloe, that'd be an awful thing to do. But so would telling NT Chloe, "Hey, I can make sure you never end up in a wheelchair, but it means your dad will die and you'll go down a dark path." But then if Max just decides to stay in the new timeline, she has to live with knowing it was her that made this timeline which ended up hurting Chloe.

I DON'T KNOW WHAT I'LL DO

Just finished yesterday and was catching up with the thread. I left the money in the office because I don't like leaving clues that I broke into a place but lol at all of you thinking that was actually money for a handicap fund. That is straight up bribe money. Tattered envelope, stuffed away in a desk, 5k in BILLS not even in a check? How much more could they have telegraphed that it's money from the douchebag's dad.

Edit: The false name of the fund that they used was an obvious telegraph for later in the episode though.
