[RUMOR] Dark Souls 3 to be announced at E3 ( with Miyazaki directing )

Seems way too soon. Fuck? I mean I'm on board and all, but damn. Can't lie though, after having Bloodborne and Dark Souls II this year, I wouldn't mind if the series took a bit of a break.

If there is a Dark Souls III coming, I want it to come out no earlier than 2017. Give us some room to breathe and play the inevitable Bloodborne DLC, no?

People are not questioning Dark Souls 3 but Miyazaki directing. He just came off a huge project and if this is ready to show it would have been in development already while Bloodborne was in development.

Miyazaki being director might just be PR speak. We won't know how much of his task is actually hands-on development and not just supervising. He's the president of From Software, so he certainly has an interest in people not thinking that DS3 is made by a B team.

pfff

The only thing missing is a tilted picture taken by a shitty phone in the dark room.

2 weeks to go, I guess it's time to find my bullshit helmet again.

Heay have meant "too early" in terms of series fatigue, but I think most people saying "too early" mean its implausible that Miyazaki's team has something to show this soon after Bloodborne launches.

Dark Souls 3, in my opinion, was never a question. Its going to happen. Miyazaki being at the helm sea unlikely to me.
Not unlikely at all. Remember an interview where he expressed to be sad to leave the series after DS1 because he has been working on Souls for such a long time.

I don't want to hear any whining for Bloodborne 2; we all know it will come at some point due to the strong sales of the original. Dark Souls 3 will be a nice change of pace.

Do I think DS3 will be coming? Yes. But I highly doubt that the game will be announced so soon and that Miyazaki would return to the series.

Really hope FROM makes a Shadow Tower game. An updated controllers that won't mess with your head, adjust difficulty and apply whatever learnt from Souls series and I think we might get something a lot more special than Abyss or King's Field.

I can see him going back to Dark Souls and just treating DS3 as "Souls game no. 4," with the fast combat of Bloodborne, useful shields and spells.

I won't say no to DS3 but I hope they make some changes so it could be as good as Bloodborne. Combat is just so much more fun there.
Lots of shining armours and another world to explore though, I'll take it even if it is rolling and it'll probably be my game of the year.

Everyone talking about it being too soon.... Noone said it was realeaing this year, or next year for that matter. Calm down.

March/April 2018 - No sooner.

They need to take their time.

They have taken their time.

If it releases in Q1 2017 that would be 3 full years after the release of Dark Souls 2, and 2 full years since the release of the port for new consoles.

Perfect timing, really.

I can believe it. Dark Souls 2 was announced in late 2012 and released in 2014.

CG trailer in 2015, release late 2016 or early 2017

Huh. That's interesting.

I was actually really interested in seeing what the "B-Team" was cooking up next, especially after the DLC apparently really showed them at their most refined, but maybe they got scuttled off to do Armored Core or something.

Don't forget, ps4 owners got a new souls game, for all of those complaining that blood borne needs time to breathe, Xbox one and pc owners got a really good master quest version of ds2, we want a new souls game as well.

I don't want to be that guy, but: too soon.

Still haven't finished BB, and Dark Souls 2 HD has just been launched as well. I don't think we need a Dark Souls 3 next year, to be honest.

Edit: if we consider Xbox and PC owners only it makes a little bit more sense, but still... too early, in my opinion. As much as I love the series, each game offers hours upon hours of replayability, so...

Why? Dark Souls 2 is inferior to Dark Souls 1 in a lot of ways. I wouldn't trust them with a Bloodborne sequel.

They learned a lot . Like, the DLC is a BIG upgrade from the vanilla game level design-wise.
I trust them to be capable of doing DS3 or BB2 if needed.

They have taken their time.

If it releases in Q1 2017 that would be 3 full years after the release of Dark Souls 2, and 2 full years since the release of the port for new consoles.

Perfect timing, really.

But Bloodborne took 4 years. Would Dark Souls 3 really be ready by Q1 2017?

So was Miyazaki working on Dark Souls 3 and Bloodborne at the same time at some point?

None of this makes any sense to me. It's too early to announce anything. I highly doubt that Dark Souls 3 will be announced and if it does there's no way in hell Miyazaki was heading the project.
