I've never really gone for guacamole before, maybe because the premade stuff I've tried has been pretty shitty. I picked up this stuff at Walmart just for the hell of it and it was awesome! I ate all 16oz in a sitting.

Previously when I bought guacamole I found it repulsive. I'm not sure why.

Man you have been missing out until now! There are a ton of different recipes on the net you can try too.

I'll be that guy and say it.

Anyone buying pre-made guacamole from a store is doing it wrong. Shit is so easy to make there's no reason not to do it yourself.

#1 - You don't buy guacamole, you make guacamole (avocado, lime juice, kosher salt, cilantro, maybe some red onions, maybe some jalapeno, maybe some cotija, maybe some bacon).

#2 - If you decided you like guacamole on the back of that Walmart-ass stuff, your goddamned head is going to pop off when you have some decent guacamole.

If you liked guacamole you would make your own.

It's simple as fuck, and once you make it yourself you'll come to appreciate it more.

I have never heard of anybody else doing this, but I like to sprinkle sugar on avocados too.

I don't think he necessarily means eating avocados out of their skins with a spoon like it's yogurt or cereal or something. Because that's kinda how you get the mean of the avocado out of the skin.

I love avocado, but I love guac even more. homemade guac is best guac, gotta get on that level. Amusingly enough I didn't really get into it until I got it once at chipotle on a lark, and was like "wait..this stuff is fantastic!" I understood the hype instantly.

I don't care for it but I have an irrational hatred for people that refer to it as "guac". You know who you are.

If you think that's bad, I've been known to purposely pronounce it in the same way you'd say "whack a mole", just to get a reaction from people.

yea, if any of you say you hate guacamole but you only buy store stuff then do yourselves a favor and get something handmade

Oh, you misunderstood. I meant to sort of add to his comment that it's also really good with sugar, just that I didn't know anybody that ate it with sugar like I do. You all should try it because it's kind of delicious.

I love it. I usually put some hard boiled egg into it for additional texture, but all my friends laugh at me. Then they try it, admit that it tastes good but still say egg doesnt belong in it. Give it a try and thank me later.
Edit: Just to be clear, I always make guac on my own.

Guacamole is the sweet jizz of the gods. But only if made fresh. Fuck these bottled abominations.

Hm. Interesting. I'm trying to imagine what that's like.

Wouldn't you lose the natural sweetness of the avocado against the sugar?

I like eating them with eggs and salsa.

And yes often I do scoop the spoon in and eat them right out of their dragon egg shells.

Yeah it's really good. Pretty much the only way Vietnamese eat avocados. People there make smoothie with them too. So good

Home made is best because I can keep it simple: avacado, lime, salt, garlic. I hate ordering guacamole when I go out and it has chunks of onions and jalapeños and shit in it. Crunchy guacamole is the worst, the textures just don't work for me.

And don't call it guac. That's a gross word.

I always loved how Subway offered guacamole, but it was for a limited time. It was also in a large industrial bag (just like everything else they have). They would just squeeze it in rows and then smear it with a knife. It was my favorite dressing. I can eat Avocado sandwiches. Just a bagel and semi-soft avocado in the middle.

It can also get expensive. $5-$8 a container. I love it more than salsa, but I don't know about nacho cheese. Nacho cheese and guacamole are two totally amazing things.

I'm mostly with you. I do avocado, fresh limes, cilantro, a little salt, red onions and minced shallots. I could eat that for the rest of my life and be happy.

Also, any guacamole that's 95% avocado is just mashed avocado in my mind. That's not even a recipe.

you should make it yourself instead of buying that ugh stuff from walmart.

Two avocados, some fine cut chili, onion, garlic and tomato. Then taste it out with a squeezed lime or two and some salt. MMHHHHMMMMMMMMMM

Always wanted to try guacamole but never did. Looks like radioactive boogers to me. But some day I'll be brave enough to eat it.

Super easy to make at home and delicious.

I love guacamole and recently was making it every week, but this one day I had to do it for a BBQ and the avocados were not ripe yet (despite having been bought almost a week ago), tried to disguise it but the fact was that it threw me off my guacamole run. For a while I'll be okay without.

I make mine with avocados, tomato, bell peppers, onion, salt and pepper, lemon (ain't got time for fancy lime) and a dash of milk.

How do they keep it from going brown?

I eat a lot of avocados, homemade guac doesn't last a day.

Lime juice will stop it going brown.

I usually make it with finely diced red onion and jalapeños. Juice of a whole lime per 2 avocado will make it last at least two days, maybe more as it never escapes being eaten that long.
