Splatoon |OT| Squidstyler

my new strat is putting on some downloads so i lag even harder than the japanese
I'm not sure if your sentiment is a joke, but lag always works both ways. If they are lagged to you, then you are to them. You are just as difficult to kill to them. You would still lose even with zero latency.

Link to list of these multipliers for each brand?

Wait a minute, the brand matters? I thought it was just a nice touch to spruce up the personality of the world a bit.

This game keeps on unraveling itself for me.

Copied from GameFAQs, so take it as you will. Seems pretty trustworthy judging by the above anecdote with Run Speed Up, lol.

also fuck all this idiotic inkstrike spam in splat zones

was mentioned here the other day
A lot of people think ink strike is the path of least resistance but if you pay attention to the people trying to get their supers up you can just keep after them and killing them.

It's good to have one or two ink strikers on the team but not everyone. Man once team at opens up these modes are going to completely change

I forgot! Hold tight!

Dual Squelcher:

Test Times: 8.58/8.45/8.44

Average: 8.49 Seconds
Oh cool, thanks!
Yeah, I expected it to be lower on the scale.
guess it really depends on how much damage it outputs in that time, though.

I need to rank up in ranked so for monies.

Okay, i'm going to run a test of all the weapons because of this.

So, it's middle of the line in terms of length.

Who feels like doing this with Time To Kill?

I'm surprised there aren't in depth guides yet of every guns range, damage, and time to kill up anywhere yet.

Yeah, I thought since it'd be Dual, it'd run out faster than the normal one, but it holds it a tiny bit longer, at the expense of range.

That's what I mean you should be able to pick the slot to reroll if it's 30k to roll all 3

Why not 15-20k to roll 1 slot?

Because you rarelly have 3 useless slot. Rerolling a single slot is less of a gamble so it should be more expensive than taking the risk to reroll everything. If it's cheap there's almost no use to the 30k reroll anymore.
Not like it will happen anyway.

seems to be just because the maps changed over... but I needed to stop playing ranked anyway, was getting too discouraged.

back to relaxing in turf wars

Hell naw! Keep other IP characters out of my Splatoon! I don't mind costumes, but actual characters is going too far.

Especially Mario.

One - he's not even a good character (blasphemy I know), there are a ton more interesting Nintendo ones, and two, can we just have one game without him? This game and these characters can stand on their own easily enough.

For chargerGAF, what is your weapon of choice? I tend to go with the original set since bombs are more useful than the srpinklers as a weapon and you cannot rely on your team all the time to protect you.

It's a toss-up between Standard (with the Hero skin because I stay fresh) and Kelp. It depends entirely on the map rotation. I find myself using Kelp more during narrow maps like Arowana and Port Mackerel due to the Killer Wail being more useful on those maps. I rarely switch over to Squiffer if I want more mobility though.

For Turf Wars I use the Kelp Charger. Sprinkler actually is really useful. You can use it as a bait or simply help cover a spot in your cone of vision. For Splat Zones I use the original Charger because Bomb Rush is just that good for capturing the Zone. Scoped ones are trash. E-Litre seems like trash but more experimentation is required.

this is exactly what I roll with. opening gambit on the hat, ninja squid on the shirt, and ink resistance up on the shoes. works really well for splat zones.

Now I just need to find a good shirt with ninja squid on it. Hopefully I can get swim speed up or ink saver, too. Damn you RNG!

The issue is that it's a guaranteed uncap and if there's just one other guy inking the zone a bit often even a full cap which automatically inks the entire zone for you. Then the leading team has to clean up the mess which makes them vulnerable to assaults. That's way too much payoff for a global super.

It's especially ridiculous on Port with its super remote splat zones which is quickly becoming my least favorite ranked map by a huge margin.

I really wish main abilities were changeable. Feels like a waste to stick with a piece of clothing that has a shitty main.

god turf wars really does feel supes casual after grinding it out in the ranked pit. it's so relaxing now!

of course it helps that i'm just steamrolling pubbies

I don't even try in Turf War anymore lol. I just go there to relax, even in GAF rooms. It's like "oh my god, I don't have to care about my rank, this is the best".

I had 2 really fun Port Mackeral matches on Ranked today. One I lost and the other one I won. It was crazy.

Also found out this happens:

I might be the only person on the internet using the Squiffer (New Squiffer, to be precise) - well, it's almost true. With the fast charge speed and assuming your aim is good and your connection not crap you should be able to 1v1 any splattershot or roller user in theory (heh), but you'll suffer against other snipers due to the significantly lower range

I know that video about Splatoon being a MOBA is silly, but I still find myself thinking "We need to push mid!" and other MOBA jargon during matches.

I did some Port Mackerel ranked matches last night. Seems like the strategy is try to take hold of both zones for a few seconds then spend the rest of the 5 minutes making sure the enemy never gets your zone. It's really difficult to maintain control of both zones at once.

next goal for me is to get my ninja jump and ninja squid gear leveled up, hopefully resulting in a perfect set of abilities (otherwise it's re-roll time)

not really into the unique headwear abilities unless you guys wanna convince me of something
