Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection announced, October 9th, UC4 MP beta access

It is kind of sad to see so many people jump on this one while a vast part of the collections out there are pretty much crap and fail to deliver. At least this game does not pretend to give you anything while it does not work. It says no online and an UC4 beta and that is what you knowingly pay for. It is fair to criticise the decision and miss the 2/3 online modes, but acting like it is some kind of anti-consumer rip-off seems silly to me.

While I would've liked an online mode, at least this drives the UC community towards UC4 as a whole. No Golden Abbys is something that I will miss more though, I have no interest in buying a Vita and that damn TV thing does not play it.

Anyways, it is a solid studio so that sparks my interest already. I am looking forward to what changes they make. In the case of the original, I hope it is somewhat substantial (with using UC2/3 assets and engine stuff?). If not substantial, I will wait until it is cheaper probably.

While the beta is not the same as the full-fledged multiplayer of U2 and U3, let's not pretend that the game isn't getting multiplayer. And considering that this is coming with two games that did have multiplayer and will sell nowhere near the amount that U2 and U3 did individually, the decision to exclude those games' multiplayer is most likely due to the fact that there won't be enough people to sustain two multiplayer games, therefore remove them and give the U4 multiplayer instead.

Wait people are complaining about getting 3 games for 60 bucks? Lol.

I think the majority are because of the removed features. MP and co-op.

Pretty understandable complaint i'd say considering some got a lot more value out of those modes.

I adore the campaigns, and the MP mode as well. To me this isn't worth $60 and I'm fine for waiting for a price drop. Why? Because I still have all 3 games on PS3 and they include multiplayer. I haven't revisited any of the campaigns in years, even though I've played them all 3-5 times. But I still go back and play multiplayer or co-op regularly.

I'd get this day one but, September-November will be a busy time for me. MGSV, Halo 5, Forza 6, Battlefront, likely Fallout 4...ain't nobody got time for that.

I'll pick it up next year before Uncharted 4 drops.

The best part about the UC games is that they can be played in a weekend.

Uncharted 1-3 in 1080/60 will be an amazing experience.

Like many others, I'm sorely disappointed the multi-player and co-op missions will most likely be excluded. They were an integral part of the experience and their exclusion will make the collection feel profoundly incomplete.

At it's core, it all boils down to "Don't like it? Don't buy it." I can understand if what they're offering for $60 doesn't push some people to buy, and that's perfectly fine. Feel free until the first sale when it drops to a price point more in line with one's budget. The multiplayer isn't essential to Uncharted, so I can understand why they left it out, though I'm not a fan of them doing so.

Publishers should totally throw 3 games from back in the day into a remaster pack this October, maybe Tetris, Paperboy and Contra. It seems so many people would be real happy to pay $60 for that, because age makes no difference at all to the value of a game.

Are you for real? If they remade those games and updated graphics you can bet they would be selling at $15 - $20 range on Xbox Live and PSN.

Just be honest. You never cared about Uncharted to begin with. You wouldn't buy this collection at $30.

Not sure if it's already been posted here but this is a gameplay video that Naughty Dog made of Uncharted 3, it's an offline video with the standard game assets but they recorded it at 60fps. It can give an estimation of what these will be like but this doesn't have the improved textures, 1080p graphics, new lighting, better character models, etc.

Posts like these where people are willing to settle for less make me sad. These are two different situations. Bluepoint are an actual port studio with credit and critical acclaim. MCC was outsourced to 3 different studios to make deadline. MCC also has 4 different games + Multiplayer for each + Halo 5 beta.

Saying it still doesn't work shows your ignorance too. The games comparison to Uncharted Collection isn't fair because even without the multiplayer, it has more content. Saying you're glad for half the content doesn't suddenly make it a better deal for your dollar. In fact its worse. Sure its better than "most" remasters but its a damn shame that people are willing to put their expectations and standards so low these days.

These games are over 4 years old. Figure out a way to make all of their content available to us if you're selling a "remaster". Why should I, as a consumer, settle for less if I want to experience my favorite trilogy of last generation again on new gen? Heck the preorder bonus is something that was already in the original game! Also being sure that Uncharted Collection will be "working" is the saddest quote yet. It's just single player, it better work goddamnit.

Best wishes.

ANd who's fault was that overseeing the project of MCC? ANd who was working doing all the patches for Multiplayer on their servers? 343 were. Just like it's SOny and Capcom's fault for the state of Ultra Street Fighter 4 Port on PS4.

And comparing a collection with 2 games from 2 previous gens, to a collection with all it's games from the same gen are different thing's all together.
MCC not all port's are created equal/ Halo 2 anniversary doesn't look bad. But even with it's upgrade halo 1 looked dated as fuck.
Halo 3 had very little change outside of resolution, slight texture bump, and frame rate. Hardly anything was touched on Halo 4.

Compare those remaster's to TLOU, and the difference in quality is pretty noticeable. I am bummed there is no co-op missions more than having multiplayer for a game that doesn't hold up to today's standards. Especially after changes made in TLOU multiplayer. Which are better controls, better shooting, better gun feedback.

Halo is known for it's campaign, but more known for it's timeless multiplayer. Uncharted is not. It is known for it's characters, plot, and set pieces.
You are entitled to your opinion and your points are valid as being bummed about no multiplayer. This may not be everyone's cup of tea, but known Blue Point's background and seeing the care TLOU had makes me more than willing to hand over 60$ for 3 games.

You say games that are 4 years old should work? How about co-op for games over 10 years old?

To you saying I'm ignorant when a fucking thread is open about recent patch that has fucked weapon stat in halo 1 multiplayer is bullshit. You obviously Didn't see my other post where I posted this: Halo:MCC rough Road
Recent Bug for Multiplayer that has it's own thread here on gaf.

Halo Waypoint chatter on outside countries still having lots of issues.

Yea your right I'm ignorant.......

Now this will make anything Gears of War that isn't the trilogy, really silly.

I will hope for similar treatment though, trilogy, 4 MP Beta access (hopefully not the only way to get it though)

Hopefully it's only $40, and hopefully I get a code for the beta at the E3 experience, which seems pretty likely now that the beta is announced, and the multiplayer has been teased by the team on twitter...because admittedly, I'm gonna be buying this mostly for that beta.

Well, it's $60, so now I really hope they give out beta codes at the E3 experience shows.

I do think trying to justify God of War 3 for the PS4 at $40 while making Uncharted 1-3 $60 is kind of weird. I thought GoW3 should have been $29.99 at most, especially after seeing footage of it, and while we haven't seen footage of this collection, with the possible exception of UC1, I think $20 each to have them ported to new gen at 1080/60 w/ some extra work is pretty reasonable. It also makes the God of War 3 price proposition even more questionable IMO, and I'll speak with my wallet there and wait until a $10-$20 price drop on it before grabbing it.

GOWIII:R seems like huge bundle bait. Dunno if it was meant to stand on its own.

The title feels like a spoiler alert. Drake is totally going to die in part 4 isn't he?

Nooooooooo!!!!!

But probably yes.

Let's see what new material includes this collection , at this moment is not interesting for me since played all the games but for the ones that have not is a great collection

What's the price on this? $60?

Better value than Tomb Taider / The Last of Us / Sleeping Dogs / GTA V but I miss last gen when we'd get remasters with 3 games for $40. :/

I have no problem with this collection's price either. GOW3 remastered's price is gross though.

Generally, I don't finish games I never cared about, or have absolutely no interest in. I have finished all 4 uncharted games. I point that out to make it clear how full of shit your statement is.

And I finished all Gears games. Still don't care about remaster. How is that "full of shit"? In fact I can say the same about God of War 3 and Halo.

What's your point?

I'm not sure I'm going to buy this. I played the second one and Golden Abyss and that was enough Uncharted for me until UC4 comes out. Playing 3 UC games in a short amount of time will get very boring for me I think.

Unless it is priced accordingly. If it is $60 then it absolutely will look silly. If it is $20-$30 absolute max then it is acceptable because it would include that endless replayability in MP.

Just so long as it isn't Sully who bites the bullet. My heart couldn't take that.

Given that the
"Sully's dead" "No he isn't"
plotline has been done twice already, I'm hoping they don't go that route.

On the matter of 3D support, back in the day they said that Uncharted 3 was built from the ground up to play natively in 3D. Surely it would take more effort for them to REMOVE that functionality?

Fantastic news!

All three games included (UC1, UC2, UC3)? Check
1080P/60fps? Check
Improved lighting, textures, models? Check
Photo Mode? Check
Quality port team (Bluepoint Games)? Check
Bonus UC4 MP beta access? Check
Removed Multiplayer? Check

Uncharted is easily my favorite series from last gen. Sony/ND looks to be making a high quality collection. It will likely be $60 retail, but for all three games that is a good value.

UC: NDC pre-ordered? Check

Fixed :p

But yeah I agree it is still good value, especially for those who never played the games.

I'll probably try to give it another go when it drops in price, really didn't think much of the first Uncharted from the gameplay to the story itself, plenty of people have said to stick with it and play the 2nd/3rd one but I never did despite owning them both. Thought TLOU was excellent though so I guess I should at least go through the 2nd game since it seems to be the most praised of them.

dude, why the hell are you discussing that in an uncharted remaster thread?
