Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection announced, October 9th, UC4 MP beta access

Wait ... does the UC: NDC UK psn include U4 Beta because I don't see it ... and I've pre orderd using codes already .. Well fuck.

Edit : NVM its in the description. It wasn't in the bonus part so I was worried lmao.

Do I need to quote back to you your own words for a third time? Here it is:

I never cared about 4 games I bought and finished? Ok then.

Did you want them to release these games on PS4? Is there a comment on GAF where you said - "please make it happen"? That's what I mean by care. I'm very happy they are releasing these games on PS4. Maybe you are too, but it really doesn't look like you care.

Naughty Dog...

Given that the "Sully's dead" "No he isn't" plotline has been done twice already, I'm hoping they don't go that route.

On the matter of 3D support, back in the day they said that Uncharted 3 was built from the ground up to play natively in 3D. Surely it would take more effort for them to REMOVE that functionality?

I think you should keep untagged spoilers out of a remaster thread for people who haven't played these games.

Probably not gonna get it. Great games, but Once was probably enough. Besides, there's a ton more stuff out there to play around that time (especially if Fallout drops)

What kind of argument is this?
do we need to prove we care nowadays?

Day one + new ps4!!!!

Great news, all three games and huge refinements? Sign me up,
If gears comes out without a trilogy it would seem weak and stupid, so here's hoping i get both my most favorite franchises and remastered trilogy's

I cant wait til October 9th, this e3 is shaping soooooo nicely already, may purchase the console a lot more earlier now

That's all I meant by my comment. Look. there's $60 price point. You might think it's too much, but would you buy it if it was $30 because you want to play Uncharted again or would you buy it at $30 because it's cheap?

That's all I mean. If you are buying it at $30 because it's cheap that probably means that you are not actually going to buy it anyway. You want to argue past my point just say "$60 is way too much. I really want to play it but $50 would make more sense." Bringing age of the game into this is irrelevant.

Good choice on Bluepoint. Bad on nixing multiplayer. Probably spent more like 70% of my time with Among Thieves in co-op & competitive MP games.

Ahh ok, for reference, if thwy release a £120 collectors edition I'm in.

No multiplay=no buy for me, well at least not until it hits $19.99.

If they're removing multiplayer and co-op, I'm guessing those new trophies will replace those that required multiplayer.

Damn. I was hoping Naughty Dog was directly involved with these like they were with the Last of Us. In particular, I was hoping they'd go back and tweak Uncharted 1 using the lessons learned from 2 & 3, like improving the melee combat. Probably won't be buying these as they are.

Handing these off to Bluepoint is pretty weak. The last mere port I thought was worth buying was Okami, because Hexadrive made the game as perfect as it could be with the materials they had. And the game is so good on its own already.

And honestly, as much as I loved the original Uncharted, a lot of people weren't big fans, and I'm not sure it in its original form is the best first impression for people that are just getting into the series.

Edit: Wait, "a range of improvements" to all three games?? I may be back in!

Not sure if it's already been posted here but this is a gameplay video that Naughty Dog made of Uncharted 3, it's an offline video with the standard game assets but they recorded it at 60fps. It can give an estimation of what these will be like but this doesn't have the improved textures, 1080p graphics, new lighting, better character models, etc.

Rare Uncharted 3 PS3 60fps Gameplay from Naughty Dog

Yeah, it's been posted a few times. But, man, the game is going to look amazing at 60fps.

Handing it off to porting studios frees up devs more to work on their main projects. Bluepoint's record is pretty solid too.

ANd who's fault was that overseeing the project of MCC? ANd who was working doing all the patches for Multiplayer on their servers? 343 were. Just like it's SOny and Capcom's fault for the state of Ultra Street Fighter 4 Port on PS4.

And comparing a collection with 2 games from 2 previous gens, to a collection with all it's games from the same gen are different thing's all together.
MCC not all port's are created equal/ Halo 2 anniversary doesn't look bad. But even with it's upgrade halo 1 looked dated as fuck.
Halo 3 had very little change outside of resolution, slight texture bump, and frame rate. Hardly anything was touched on Halo 4.

Compare those remaster's to TLOU, and the difference in quality is pretty noticeable. I am bummed there is no co-op missions more than having multiplayer for a game that doesn't hold up to today's standards. Especially after changes made in TLOU multiplayer. Which are better controls, better shooting, better gun feedback.

Halo is known for it's campaign, but more known for it's timeless multiplayer. Uncharted is not. It is known for it's characters, plot, and set pieces.
You are entitled to your opinion and your points are valid as being bummed about no multiplayer. This may not be everyone's cup of tea, but known Blue Point's background and seeing the care TLOU had makes me more than willing to hand over 60$ for 3 games.

You say games that are 4 years old should work? How about co-op for games over 10 years old?

To you saying I'm ignorant when a fucking thread is open about recent patch that has fucked weapon stat in halo 1 multiplayer is bullshit. You obviously Didn't see my other post where I posted this: Halo:MCC rough Road
Recent Bug for Multiplayer that has it's own thread here on gaf.
Gaf Thread
Halo Waypoint chatter on outside countries still having lots of issues.

Yea your right I'm ignorant.......

Your post is all over the place so I'll start with one thing here: MCC is already out. Uncharted Collection is single player. It better damn work. It doesn't have servers to worry about, heavy patching of glitches due to 3 completely different studios working on different elements of the game and hoping it'll all gel at the 11th hour. It doesn't have to worry about making sure the multiplayer isn't going to have problems post-launch as there isn't multiplayer. This is as basic as it gets, so I don't know where you're trying to get at by comparing the two, they are two different collections, one offering more than the other.

Now of course, I'm entitled to my opinion and so are you, but the problem here is that you're banging on about how having less content is fine. We don't know the extent of visual upgrade which this collection will show. What we do know is that half of Uncharted 2 and 3 is cut. What we do know is that this is an incomplete collection. What we also know is that Uncharted 2 and 3 were heavily played on PS3 for its multiplayer. If you look at the trophy statistics, (which gives an incredibly false sense of perspective), over half the people who finish the games played the multiplayer. That's quite a lot for a franchise known for its single player when about 40% of the player base actually finished the game, (again a false sense of scale but you get the point).

Now I don't know if you're calling me ignorant, but I strictly said Halo MCC isn't as broken as it once was, besides you can actually play the single player without having problems, (which is what Uncharted Collection apparently is, single player only). You originally stated that the game is still broken, which isn't true. It still has problems yes, but its not in utter despair. If anyone wants to play the campaigns, they can do so with no problems. Now I don't know how big of a Halo player you are, (condolences if you suffered from the launch as it was really bad), but that entire package offered more for the player than this does. Not to mention, if they really wanted to match the amount of games, they could've added Golden Abyss.

Now as for Halo working at launch, the thing is already out, we can't do anything about it. Uncharted 3 being 4 years old and coming to PS4 barebones, this collection has no excuse to not work. My original post was pointed towards that. My original post was also strictly pointed towards how people are fine with less content than the original games provided and that's is absolutely sad and disappointing to me. We are the consumers, don't pussy foot around it.

Finally posting a gif to try to get your point across didn't work for me. It doesn't add more to your point, in fact it made me rather upset at how you bolded several parts of my posts but didn't expand or refute them.

EDIT: FYI. I'm not a Halo fan. I just tell it like it is. This collection is as barebones as it gets and its sad that MCC is still regarded to be a "true" collection. It could be worse though. It could've been like Gear of War Remastered/

Best wishes.

Will buy...need to go back to those Nathan adventures!!

I don't get it, why do publishers not wait for E3 when its this close for these announcements. I rather have more stuff at E3 to be announced.

Handing these off to Bluepoint is pretty weak.

Naughty Dog are busy with possibly up to 3 games in development right now, if they were to handle UC internally then that would give some weight to the "I want new IPs, not remasters" argument.

This way, Bluepoint get work, PS4 gets sales, Naughty Dog & BP get paid and ND get to work on UC4 and whatever else they're cooking up.

The reason they handled TLOU internally was because the PS3 team had only just come off the game anyway and felt it was a good learning experience to get to grips with the PS4 architecture.

Very disappointed that there's no multiplayer. That was what I was most looking forward to. Sony is imo missing a big first party MP title and this could have been what Halo:TMMC is for Xbox (except for the server problems of course).

Hopefully that means Sony is confident about UC4's MP.

I swear they named it the Nathan Drake Collection because of everyone hoping for a Marcus Fenix Collection but only getting the first game.

Now this will make anything Gears of War that isn't the trilogy, really silly.

I will hope for similar treatment though, trilogy, 4 MP Beta access (hopefully not the only way to get it though)

Not at all. Gears will have multiplayer and to a lot of gamers, that is the focus of the series. MCC continues to be the best bargain for your buck, as far as remasters go

I felt a great disturbance in the Force, as if my wallet suddenly cried out in terror and was suddenly silenced.

Yup. Heart attack. Poor thing. Didn't stand a chance during E3 season.

As an Xbox defector, I can't wait to play this series from the beginning.

Rise of the What Now?

Pace yourself. They're long games.... rushing will kill a lot of the enjoyment.
