Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection announced, October 9th, UC4 MP beta access

play uc3 first then uc2. i doubt you'd find uc3 to be horrible or some other hyperbolic bullcrap some people like to spew.

for me, there are a lot of things u3 did better. on the same note, there are portions where uc2 shined.
Same experience. I for some reason played UC 1, UC3 and UC2 last. UC3 was a solid game, but the hyperbolic things that people say about it now borders on ludicrous. The only part that I actively disliked was probably the last ten minutes. I guess not landing an ending can certainly color your impressions in a bad way, but it didn't ruin the whole experience for me. UC2 however did end up seeming like a better game and it's probably still within my Top 5 of the last gen.

As broken as it might have been, we should be comparing all remasters to MCC in terms of pricing.

Or Metro Redux. Let's not list greedy publishers and say it's acceptable for Sony to charge full price, especially with features removed...

You can't just ignore how broken MCC was. The amount of content they shoved into that package was what directly led to that clusterfuck. If they'd been a bit less ambitious, it probably wouldn't have been such a mess.

Anyway, the lack of MP is a bit disappointing but seeing as Uncharted 4 will be coming out just a handful of months later (I'm guessing March, right before the end of the fiscal year), I don't think it's that big a deal.

Alan Wake
Splinter Cell: Blacklist
Tomb Raider
Hitman: Absolution
Spec Ops: The Line
Ghost Recon
Sniper Elite
TLOU

Honestly most of them. The combat just didn't feel good, I think because of the physics and animations they used. Also Uncharted 3 had a bug that made the aiming horrible. I guess Mass Effect and GTA are worse in feeling. It could be that I don't like playing shooters on the PS3 controller. Maybe if I played them on the PS4 I would feel that the gameplay was better. I also didn't play them on release, so it is different.

Weird. I haven't played a TPS as satisfying to control as Uncharted. Specially in 2 and 3.

So smooth and dynamic.

Excellent news IMHO that they're not waisting time and energy to include MP (look how it turned for the MCC collection...).

1080P/60 FPS plus trophies for the first uncharted (IIRC the first entry didn't had trophies) is a sufficient reason to buy for me

Trophies were patched into U1 shortly after trophies were launched on PS3.

It did but they were patched it in later.

Nonetheless, I can't wait to buy this. I haven't had my PS3 hooked up in awhile and wanted an excuse to play through these games again. God, it's going to be so beautiful.

I think I will enjoy Uncharted 4 a lot more in terms of gameplay, because I think they learned a little from TLOU. Plus they are designing the levels better for smooth parkour shooting and stuff.

to the above poster, let's not really spoil some levels or something.

i didn't like the last 1/3 of uc2. it's not bad per se, but the first 2/3 was just great compared to the last 1.3.

uc2 also had stupid puzzles and the journal was a freaking instruction manual. ughhh.

uc3 puzzles were just way better. i also loved the set pieces, and how you can shoot vertically. i love the pacing (although i am not a believer of pacing. people pace themselves and we got shit to do. even if i shoot for an hour i don't care if the next level is another hour of shootbang because i don't play it for 8 hours straight). pacing for me was a perfect mix of things to do and it constantly changes so i am all for that. there is a section that was a total copy of another from uc2, so that's one of the only things i didn't like. and some of the later enemies if you know what i mean. not creative enough, but i guess they want to move away from that. uc1 had the best of those enemies though, hands down. so yeah, play uc1 just for those. ahaha.

So people actually value 3 Uncharted campaigns in a Remastered state at less than 15$ per game?

Just greedy! Fucking lol...

TLOU was good, but it was much different because of the style. It was much easier to pull off good controls in that game because of the more limited moveset. The were able to also improve all of those contextual animations/techniques from UC3. I haven't played a lot of those games, but I know that all of them don't have nearly as good animations and attention to detail when it comes to gameplay. It just adds to an experience that some people would describe as "generic". I've played Spec Ops and I think the controls were tight, but it didn't really enhance much for me in terms of the gameplay.

The patched improvement UC3 so aiming was fine. It was the fighting animations in UC3 that were sort of wonky.

UC2's aiming was great and getting headshots was pretty damn easy.

You're not going to last long here at this rate
stop trying to backseat mod. it only makes your foolish reasoning look even more asinine.

if you want to subjectively devalue a product please do so with demonstrative reasoning, not comparing years-old games to a newer product. miles had a slightly better approach, but not by much.

I wonder if Sony knew that MS is going to announce a Gears HD remaster officially at E3, and decided to push this out a few days early?

This would have been a great announcement during E3

e: and to the guys whining about the price, it's 3 fantastic single player games that can take between 6 and 20 hours each depending on difficulty. go get a best buy gamers card and get this for $48, or even lower if the game isn't actually $60

I can't believe MS didn't just confirm the Gears Remaster. It'll look so silly if they pretend it's a surprise when we have footage already.

October is so far away...and I'm probably buying AC: Syndicate later in the month but I really can't wait to get my hands on this.

People arguing about the price....man I don't get it.

Me either... If its $60 when it comes out, and you don't want to pay that much: DON'T. Just wait a couple of weeks and you can probably find it for $40-50. Wait a couple months and you can probably find it for $20-30.

Also, I think its a good idea for them to not waste time on MP. There a a lot of people out there that don't care at all about Uncharted MP (myself included) and they probably don't want to compete with their new game that is coming out mere months after this collection.

Why are people complaining about remasters. I never got to play these games, plus i get all 3 for the price of one. This is not a bad thing.

Once the beta is over they should update this collection with the full Uncharted 4 MP.

Messed up they didn't try to update Uncharted 2 MP for PS4.

In actuality, I'd guess to reduce size for the disc.
I could believe it. Have any of the current gen remasters released on more than one disk?

The MCC really should have shipped on multiple but even there you get one disk and a hell of a download to queue up for the rest.

As far as I know, none of them have yet. All 3 full Uncharted games would have to end up being multi-disc so I could definitely see disc space being part of the reason for the removal. Maybe in conjunction with trophy data showing it might not be worth the time/effort or just wanting 360-only gamers to get acclimated with the series before the next installment.

I don't think anyone really wants to go ahead with multiple discs yet.

I doubt it. My guess is Sony only recently started planning out their conference and the Uncharted Collection was a casualty. So they announce it early instead, get it some headlines without all the other E3 noise surrounding it and get themselves some good pre-E3 coverage.

Went ahead and preordered this off Best Buy because it'll be nice to revisit these games again and I can box up my PS3 (I still have it out alongside my PS4 and Wii) in the near future.

lol at people hating on Uncharted 3, it's like hating on a 3 michelin star plate of food because there was a fingerprint barely visible on the dish.

Imagine if 343 made it /perspective

In terms of pure value for money, the best remasters have been Metal Gear Solid HD/Legacy and Halo MCC.

In terms of the quality of the remastering, the best I've seen so far is The Last of Us, MGS and Ico/SOTC.

ADD 3D SUPPORT!!

Dug it in UC3...

I would love it as well, but I'm not expecting it unfortunately.
Sony stopped pushing 3D in games long time ago (ironically on hardware that wasn't really ready to support it, in opposite to PS4 :-/)
And The 3D prerendered cutscenes took like 12 gigs of space on the PS3 iirc, it would be even more now.
If they are dreaming of doing it all on one disc, there is no place for that.
