I agree. The conventional wisdom is that it boosts you to 80% run speed in enemy ink, but it sure doesnt feel like it. I don't notice any practical improvement. I will be switching it out for stealth jump asap.
 
just managed to play an entire match on silent while in a skype conversation without my parents picking up on it lol

came second on the winning team too, lawl, 5:3

I didn't really count so I'm mostly going off what I recall from the reviews. I scratched the 10 off because I only saw it in one place though so I'd say 8 tops if you're not that great at finding the scrolls.

also I think I may get a new avatar and want to splat it. Does anyone have easy access to the avatar splats?

I at some point, would love to play in a GAF room w/ Skype chat. This is honestly my favorite game in a long time, and the community here is tremendous. Plus I could always learn from others and get better.

I also second DaBoss's (I think) roller train idea so we can see how many points we rack up.

That would be rad. I really want to get better, and I know I can learn from you guys. I actually upped my game substantially today after readings all the advice this thread had to give.

I was really struggling this morning in Ranked, and today I won a bunch and got to B -

Plus it will just be a ton of fun talk to you guys.

I don't see any reason to use stealth jump. Ink resistance is helpful as the roller can't cover small patches of ink very quickly unlike the guns.

I didn't play a lot with Gaf so far either and I agree that It'd be awesome. I want to make sure I join you all when I really have time to sit down and play and so far my playtime has been really dependant on too many things for me to be sure. (I'm only a bit into C+ don't hurt me)

Also Ink Resistance is godlike. Those extra seconds you get really help for you to organize yourself in enemy territory and either make a escape plan or turn around to ambush someone.

Yeah, gotta agree with this. Currently using Ink Resistance shoes with 3 swim speed ups for its subs.

I forgot to mention I played against a GAFfer the other day. I don't remember who. Something like [GAF] Tommy or whatever.

My name shows up as [~_ó] by the way, so if you're getting sniped by me I'm sorry ;(
 
Playing with dual Squelcher. Liking it more than the first time around. It's sooo good on the tower in skatepark. Wish I had the killing power I had when I was playing with the .96 gal, but you have to give up something for the better painting speed.
 
Interesting tidbit - I was at a programming class today and I had finished the assignments so I went to dawdle around on Splatoon Miiverse. My teacher comes and points to my screen and I thought he would complain (even if he never usually did)

He instead just says "Man, I REALLY want to buy this game."

So I think I might be playing with my teacher in a few weeks heh.
 
I wish I had more time to paintbrush all the things with folks tonight. Gonna get to try a match with it before I really should turn everything off for the night, dern responsibilities and junk.

fair point. In the few games I played as a roller I liked to use the superjump aggressively to get to teammates in enemy territory. The results were ... uh, mixed.
I tried Ink Resistance very briefly but I didn't really notice an improvement when wading through enemy ink. Gotta test it again
