And to the people who don't have the app on the app store? When they introduced the app that's how they introduced it, as a way to introduce Nintendo content outside of Directs.

Its a stand alone spin off.I'll be curious what this is, my guess is that it's another expansion to Splatoon 3 and not a standalone
I just… like how on earth does anyone arrive at this. Directs are the lifeblood of Nintendo marketing. They are absolutely not going anywhere.also, why do I have this feeling that Nintendo Directs are now dead...
It's just a teaser. No release date mentioned. They put it out there to coincide with letting people know that the Switch 2 update for Splatoon 3 drops tomorrow along with a minor update to the game. So that people don't forget Splatoon exists.Console is not a week old, game drops.
Well what has been on my mind and what they should do is separate Splatoon between single-player and multiplayer. Because multiplayer is going to always be the same core concept, just with new weapons, stages, music, and events. It's very live-servicey. But the single-player aspect of the series has always been there, but I don't know that it can stand on its own enough to be a $70 product. But having to move the 10 million-strong Splatoon multiplayer audience over to new games every 4 years seems like something that isn't necessary.Damn. As much as I like what I saw, my hopes for Splatoon 4 just poofed. It will be a lot longer than I'm hoping for a new game.
The spinoff however does look really nice and I'm still glad it uses the shooting mechanics as a central point. The amount of times I heard Splatoon turned based game! Made me wanna hurl. Splatoon is a shooter first and foremost.
Really hoping the Switch 2 update fixes the peer to peer connections a bit more.
Wii U was a home console and the original Splatoon still sold over 1.79 million in Japan.home consoles are dead in Japan since the PS2/Wii, of course it ll sell more
The Wii U base in Japan barely even reached 3 mil total, so amazing that Splatoon reached that level of attach rate on such an unpopular platform. 50% is crazy. Splatoon is a huge brand in Japan, to be sure.Wii U was a home console and the original Splatoon still sold over 1.79 million in Japan.
Back playing splatoon 1 late at night when the Japanese started getting on was nightmarish. They were cracked.Wii U was a home console and the original Splatoon still sold over 1.79 million in Japan.
Is it single player or co-op driven or what. Would be nice to have another great single player next to Zelda, Mario, Xenoblade, Metroid etc. (even if it's co-op too, if it's not only some repeatable round based deal but has a persistent meaty campaign to go through). The first Splatoon had a great single player appetiser but then they went mostly PVP only (though I think there was some DLC thing with single player for one). On the other hand this looks open world-ish so hopefully they can have the creativity of the various levels in the first game embedded and expanded in different bits.
i cant take these dumb narrated Nintendo trailers, its so cringe, they think their fans are 8, but in reality they are bald, fat and over 30+
Cool, glad I was wrong, I had the impression they went all in on the online only but apparently 3's campaign is longer than the first game's short one. Something to keep in mind if I get a Switch 2 (never got the original sadly).I prefer the competitive multiplayer modes, but all Splatoons have a story mode. Splatoon 3 is considered to be best for the main campaign and Octo Expansion, DLC for Splatoon 2, considered best overall.
There are some people who buy the games strictly for the single player content.
I don't see any indication it's co-op. IMO the subtitle Raiders implies that you can play as the Deep Cut members too, if you look at Big Man for ex he's all decked in scuba diving gear and he has a lantern. It'd be pretty disappointing if you couldn't use him for underwater exploration. Is it single player or co-op driven or what.
