Sure, but then there's no point in bringing up PCars as an example, when its design choices cause perfoemance that would be completely unacceptable in a Forza title. I appreciate Forza for what it doesn't do, as much as what it does.
The Alcantara suede is nice. Unit is portable and folds up rather easy which is why I got it. My main con is its a little on the narrow side. If you aren't a particularly slim fellow you may find it bit uncomfortable.
This.
T10 gets ridiculed for 2D spectators, but they took the hit in order to maintain 60fps and 1080p.
I have utter and complete faith in T10.
Already? Is this franchise annualized at this point?
Gran Turismo: Original released in 1997, 6 games total
Forza: Original release in 2005, 8 games including this one
It's cool if core fans are down with the release schedule, but as someone who tapped out after the second iteration I don't think I would ever want to dive back in at this point. I don't think that enough would change in a racing game between iterations to merit another full price investment in such a short time and I wouldn't buy one that would have a dead online community in a year (or three) because everyone moved onto the newest release.
That is one sweet setup that you have.
Enjoy man![]()
Appreciate it. Just rigged up bass shaker underneath the seat about a month ago.![]()
Made an unbelievable difference racing games. The vibration in Horizon 2 cross country races is bananas.
I would love to do that for my rig, but I won't because I don't want to be an ass to the apartment below me...........![]()
There was a rumor a while back that the guys Turn 10 rely on for track rendering also did a render for Monza. Hopefully that gets added in, along with most or all of the tracks from 4 that got cut (I just want Motegi and Sonoma to return, IMHO).
Can't wait. I reckon this one will be the true showcase Sim for the Xbox One. The last being a launch title was always going to be a bit of a tall order, and probably not indicative of what Turn 10 can really muster on the console. On a side note, I have no idea what they mean by 3D puddles, but it certainly sounds interesting.
Yup. It'll still look lovely at 60fps if they get the framerate welded shut like FM5, some details will be lost but they've checked the most important boxes when comparing the game to other racers. We all know the console warriors will find something meaningless to complain about for the next 2 years until the next game is out but I expect the rest of us to be more than pleased when it's finally shown off for real. Can't wait to see this beast in motion!Driveclub has very little going on in the physics department compared to Forza, is 30 FPS, and is on better hardware. Driveclub's focus is on visuals and simplicity, you can't expect graphics like that from Forza 6. I wouldn't even expect it to look as good as Horizon 2 but that's not a big deal considering all the other improvements listed in this thread.
Lighting wise it doesn't look like a big departure from FM5:

I was hoping for a bit more realism.
If you're going to include Horizon, why not include all the other side releases from GT? Let see... Hey there have been 14 GT games since 1998! That's almost annualized at this point.

People sure have a skewed perception of reality.
Sorry to go offtopic but honestly, when they are that far apart without being there early on it would probably be smarter to just release one game per generation and deliver awesome dlc until the next one. Lots of people never bought GT6 because next gen had already started. Awesome game and content, but it came out way too late. And even after all those years, with the obsession to check some next gen boxes (1080p/60fps), it still managed to look rushed. :/There's nothing wrong with GT release schedules, we got two gt games on ps3 which is perfectly fine.
Those side games in GT are glorified demos. Unless your counting tourist trophey.

The lighting in FM5 is in the "good enough" category. Not mind blowing by any means but it's solid enough and gets the job done. If they can improve on that slightly while adding weather, TOD and 3D puddles then we will be in for a treat. Especially at 60fps.or 50
It was more than a rumour, it was posted on the official website of Monza autodrome that the track was being laser scanned by someone working for Microsoft..
baked lighting in 2015 when even open world games have dynamic tod and weather.
it's their 6th mainline game. that's more than a decade of dev time. can't believe people have been okay and understanding about it for the longest time.
He meant that the lighting does look pretty damn realistic in that Forza Motorsport 5 shot, and I concur. If you told anyone those two screens were from the same game they would believe you.
So 2 or 3 like I thought. Nice to have but not really necessary when, as I said, the extra horsepower can be used elsewhere, especially when there isn't a great deal to begin with. I'm just speculating anyway, it may have actual dynamic lighting.
And I have experienced it, I've been playing PC since the early 90's and used to be a sim nutcase!

We don't know if lighting is baked in FM6. From the screenshots it looks identical to FH2 which is dynamic.

Sounds like it's still baked from the descriptions, otherwise they'd PR dynamic time of day instead of just "night races". The rain effects/droplets on the car look similar to FH2 though.
Still looks a bit cartoony to me. It's just baffling that a lastgen game can still easily beat a currentgen one.

GT7 is gonna outright murder every other racer when it comes to graphics.
You know damn well it doesn't look like that in motion.
IQ wise no, but the lighting is the same.
There's a racing game comparison thread for those who want to get into that snakepit of bullshit. Please keep that out of here.

Huh? I can't talk about the weather without going to the comparison thread?
I don't think that he was talking to you ;-)
