Fun games with a lot of flaws but the flashy-ness kind of makes them be overlooked. And don't even get me started on the hypocrisy shown on aspects such as QTE's on Platinum games vs others.

nah man I think it's underrated tbh. The best Platinum game. It had some big issues but the gameplay was so damn good. If sony ever wants to spend money on a platinum game it better be this with the Lord and savior Mikami leading the way. If not just hire Mikami to make a vanquish like game instead.

With better atmosphere, environment, actually interesting characters etc etc (basically everything but gameplay) improved + good marketing could lead to a rather successful IP.
 
Wishlist (Trying to keep things reasonable)

  • Ratchet & Clank (3-5 minutes Gameplay)
  • Uncharted 4 (Trailer featuring Sully or Elena)
  • Skate 4
  • Sony 1st Party IP Reveal (Don't really mind which, would just like to see something brand new)
  • Bloodborne DLC (Trailer/maybe a date)

That's it for me and it's great E3, already.

I take Verendus' not responding to my FFXVI post as a sign that we'll see something from it soon and he doesn't want to spoil it. Especially with the first official mention of "FFXVI" now by Yoshida two days ago in the IGN article.

If the first one ever got ported it will only be to PC with Microsoft's blessing, which if Insomniac wanted to do I think they would get if you look at other situations like Ryse and Alan Wake and possibly even DR3.

PS4, probably not anytime this decade. I don't think Insomniac will do SO2 next either, they'll do something else with someone else if I had to guess, perhaps they'll come back to SO later on.

Fantastic game though.

Insomniac owns the IP, so it's technically possible. MS probably has first refusal rights, though, so I would doubt it. SO is on the slowly growing list of games that might get me to eventually get an Xbox. Game looks sweet.

Do you know of any PS4 games being made by some of the lesser known '2nd' party studios, like Idol Minds, Lightbox Interactive, Sanzaru, and Eat Sleep Play?
 
%110 TLG will be there this year. I feel it inside of me. The hype...its rattling throughout my bones. Its moving into any available crevice of my body. It is here. We are 6 days away from E3 2015 and the hype has officially hit me full force.
 
A lot of people here have been making Verendus some questions, so I'm in too:

-Do you know if there are any announcements for some non-indie Vita games (apart from localizations of existing games) ? I'll even accept a no as an answer :)

This whole IP ownership thing seems like a false prophet of hope to me. The only game I can think of that ever got ported with the same sort of deal as Sunset Overdrive was Mass Effect and that took EA acquiring Bioware and waiting 5 years or so for it to happen. MS held on tight to those publishing rights.

If you want them on PC, you're in luck because MS aren't against that both in what they have said and what history shows to be true but other stuff doesn't go anywhere outside of that.

Publishers want to own IPs and generally they do except for when you are dealing with developers who have mega hits (like Respawn/TF = COD and Bungie/Destiny = Halo) in their past. Microsoft let Insomniac do that and I bet in exchange as you would expect Microsoft got that locked down tight unless they tell Insomniac they can do otherwise. Insomniac are a great studio but I don't know how many other publishers would have given them the deal MS did with IP ownership and full funding, I would guess that given their Playstation roots, they probably weren't too keen on the Xbox exclusive idea but you take the best deal.

SO doesn't seem to have set the world alight despite how great it was, it will probably be a while before they go back to it. Of course, I could be wrong but looking at history, I don't see why this would be any different to other games.

My main prediction for E3 is that every new game announcement Microsoft Studios make is owned by them. Gigantic isn't but I suspect that is because the game didn't require full funding, thus it wasn't an issue.

If I recall: Lightbox is making mobile games now, and Eat Sleep Play doesn't exist anymore. David Jaffe runs the Bartlet Jones Supernatural Detective Agency now, though, but they're making Drawn to Death in conjunction with Sony San Diego. Idol Minds's website says they do F2P mobile games now.

Supermassive is making Until Dawn, and they're "2nd party." Sumo Digital made LBP3.

Eat Sleep Play, Lightbox Interactive and Idol Minds shifted to mobile games I think

Sanzaru is working on something PS4/X1 after Sonic Boom 3DS
 
I'd be surprised if SO or its sequel(s) go multiplatform. Seems like a good series for Microsoft to have on their console, especially to try and break out of the Gears/Halo/Forza stereotype. Might not light the charts on fire like Gears does, but it adds diversity to the line up.

Yeah ESP went mobile, but Jaffe's not with the studio anymore so it's not like we could have expected Twisted Metal from them anyway.

Lightbox went mobile after Sony "ended their working relationship," but Dylan Jobe appears to still be on good terms with Sony, so it's not like there's any bad blood there.
 
All I want to know after today is when Metroid: Vietnam and The Legend of Zelda: Grandmother of Saudi Arabia will release.

Hasn't hit me yet. It will when I see the various photos of them getting set up and people arriving.
 
Welp. My church cancelled VBS this year which means I can at least catch the rest of the E3 conferences, especially Sony's. That's how I God's looking out for me. lol

I think having a playable demo or beta is a good way to pull the "you can play it right now" and spread some actual hype. Unless the servers are so terrible and no one can play it and everyone gets frustrated.

PT was a special case since there was a secret announcement within the game itself, and it was free. And as you said, still technically dead. :P

Any AAA game is going to sell better with a few months of marketing to support it, and any indie game is just going to get drowned out in all the E3 stuff going on.

Uncharted 4 or Battlefront. Hopefully Uncharted 4.
Halo 5. Forza is good but is not all that noteworthy.
I'm going to guess Yoshi's Wooly World for Nintendo.
 
I'm going to be disappointed if there isn't a substantial Mirrors Edge 2 gameplay section. I'm hoping if Rockstar announces anything that it isn't RDR2. I want a sequel, but I would like for them to start a new IP or go back to one they haven't touched in a while. Speculation and all, but I'm assuming the FPS mode in GTAV was to get it in place for a future title.

Hmmm, thinking on how the structure will be.

Sony: Start with the Current, Middle could be 2016, end could be surprises / collaborations

So if they start with current titles, releasing 2015 I would say No Mans Sky. If they start with future titles, like 2016, I would think maybe they open with Horizon. Or they want to get the 3rd party stuff out of the way, so they start with Star Wars.
