Honestly we never saw an explorable city in Versus so there is no clear idea about an open city in XV. The E3 2013 trailer was pre-rendered but it showed a massive city, which I doubt we get in the final game.
Yes, yes I agree. I don't like how Moogles are being treated in Type-0, either.

This is utmost dirtbaggery. Show some respect, damn!
I mean, all kinds of wildlife are being slain left and right but my cute little favourite pet is being dragged through the mud?
Am I doing this right? Are my double standards sound and applicable? Or am I just being a hypocrite grasping for arguments. Hmmmmmmmm.
Leaning more toward the latter. I don't know though, they have yet to show anything.
Stop it you.:0
I think this is the only real truth we can reach in every XV thread, which is kinda sad since the game was revealed 2 years ago...
Another element to take into consideration about town sizes it's their verticality: with teleport and jumps, i'm sure there'll be a lot of extra zones to reach, so even if a town's area is small, maybe they'll be built on multiple levels. KH areas comes to mind.
Eh, I had Tidus and Vaan in my mind when I wrote my post. Why does that mean he will sound squeaky? It's not as if there are only two types of voices (batman and squeaky). There are pitches falling in-between there as well.......
How about a regular talking voice? Without any gruff sounding sounds.
But I like Noctis Voice because it's gruffy!I mean, he sounded fine in some parts, but most of the time it was way too gruffy. The issue is the acting, not necessarily the voice.
Nah, I'm moderately hyped as well!We should have answers at GC and TGS exciting times.. Although I feel I'm in the minority.
If that's still a thing![]()
Speaking about Moogles, I wonder if they are still in FFXV? I hope so, but I hope they aren't in the similar style Nomura wanted. He still wanted a similar look to the KH/Type-0 cartoony-looking Moogles, which just wouldn't fit. Would prefer the classic look, something between Amano's Mog and FFVIII's MiniMog. And keep the eyes closed, like sleepy Koala eyes:Yes, yes I agree. I don't like how Moogles are being treated in Type-0, either.

Hopefully. We know they already made some of the assets for it.
Would be a total waste, even in spite of the beginning scenario being changed up.
I so agree with the sentiment, here.As for the story changes, I feel like Faulker's advice to kill your darlings is probably applicable here. Hopefully the changes/edits are being made in order to create a single cohesive, self-contained product. I would vastly prefer this over sequel teasing and unrealized plot threads for the sake of expanding the game universe. It's not hard to imagine how a 9-10 year old scenario that seemed to be in a constant state of iteration may have come across as disjointed and confusing.
I'd like to think some people at SE have realized a game needs to earn spin-offs and sequels and they shouldn't take their audience for granted. Thinking back to the time period in which Versus was conceived, SE was at the height of their hubris, and I can't help but feel that the originally envisioned storytelling was probably abstruse and esoteric to say the least. Remember how poorly XIII's world and Fal'cie/L'cie scenerio went over with the general gaming audience? Not that I found it confusing (at all, really), but people want a story and characters they can easily connect with on a personal level. That's a big part of what made the series popular to begin with.
I also just want to pass this metaphorical kidney stone so Final Fantasy can move on. Variety is the series strong suit. The fact that Lightning and Noctis have been the face of the brand for the past decade is insane.

Oh yeah, Moogles are still a thing in XV. Now this is good. There is a Moogle doll in Dusace.
In Cindy's truck of all places! HEH!!!
I just hope we don't get the FFXIII version of them. Ugh. I hate that version so bad. Give me the supreme version!

Did anyone say "supreme version"?
FF9 clearly has the most superior moogles.

FFIX is superior in most things.
Probably everything but gameplay.

I just keep forgetting how to pronounce their name =/I still find it funny people think those are dinosaurs. They are Catoplepas(s). They are probably the largest of any depiction in the FF series, but their scaly skin's true to their mythology(supposed to be really durable), and their long necks are to stress their namesake("Catoplepas" means "to look downward"), since their heads are supposed to be extremely heavy and are almost always low to the ground.
They are also mono-eyed, like other FF depictions.
My all time favourite.![]()
I think I'm not exaggerating when I say that Stiltzkin is the biggest badass in the series.

It just sucks because that was literally one of the things I was most excited for... the opening invasion. Early Versus XIII trailers made it seem super exciting, too. There would've been a car chase scene, a stand-off between Noctis and Stella, a stand-off between Noctis and the Hooded Guy, airship battles, the party scene and the party being crashed (quite literally), battles in the streets, etc.
It seems like such a huge waste for the invasion to now happen off-screen, aside from the stand-off between Regis and Idola, I guess.
I hope Insomnia isn't another Valhalla, aka a cool-looking place that'll be relegated to background material for two auto-pilot boss fights and one real one.
It happened last year from what I understand. Which... even then makes you wonder how much is actually done if they decided to mess around with the script around then.
Was Stella the girl who was opposed/opposite Noctis in that one trailer from last (?) year? Luna is the girl that they've been showing off in a chair, right?
Sorry, I haven't really been keeping up on who is who in this game at current.
Maybe that's the reason why they're going as far as cutting some of the most memorable scenes from past trailers. They may want to preserve story flow over trying to shoehorn into the game all those "popular" scenes.I have good hope for the game but I feel like the all-important story (IMO) may end up stop-and-go rather than flowing well since it feels like they are way too fluid with what is cutable from supposedly main things. Though since we don't know the details I guess we'll find out.
My feel is that Yoshida is like that, he's the one that pushed for that kind of approach, almost unheard inside SE, he's truly appasionate about his work and he seems way more approchable that most directors and producers at SE.
In exchange Tabata looks like this very ambitious guy, he sees FF XV as the opportunity of his life and getting to a position he was quite far off (I mean until 2 years ago he didn't directed a single console game and not of this caliber). And he's gonna use any weapon at his disposal, YoshiP way of getting closer to the community was, without doubt, part of the success of the XIV reboot, while YoshiP sees it as more as a necessity (an MMO thrives on his community), SE and Tabata treats it as another marketing tool, and you can kinda see it, YoshiP streamings have that kind of charm and randomness that others lack (YoshiP showing "Top Secret" documents while the marketing guys giving him the look or having Wada, SE expresident as some kind of hostess showing photos and all).
Meanwhile Tabata's streaming has that cold and scripted feeling, like a well oiled machine that never goes of the prepared path. And somehow it kinda feels his very PR style of just saying what the fans wants to hear, because he really needs this game to do well.
Totally my gut feeling about this, not saying is accurate.

I just hope people keep their expectations in check on the size of the explorable towns and cities. Last time I was chatting with a friend he said he expected Accordo to be the size of Los Santos....

Lol i don't think they'd keep teleport only to travel horizontally, you're going overboard with your pessimism

Have we even seen whatever "vertical" exploration was in VSXIII?
