Chargers can use it since they have full range scaling (until they hit full charge and spike in damage). I've killed people a split second earlier since a damage up sub let's me kill at 95%-ish percent.

I was using a Splat Charger at first, and then the game kindly reminded me I can't Splat Charger, but I can Splatterscope.

I'm Struggling in B+
At least I don't have worthless teammates, just sometimes opponents that are too good
 
I really hope they patch in custom lobbies or tournament mode á la MK8! A bit too hard to set up games with friends and gaffers IMO
 
Not my day today. Got stuck at B-, and turf wars haven't been so kind to me, losing like 8 straight times even though I always lead the team.

I'm the same boat. I need to put in some time with ranked. The .52gal deco is treating me well, but I still need to get btter with it.

Which charger are you using? I can OHKO with splatterscope at ~70% charge, but I have one damage main and 2 (I think) damage sub.

The scaling for chargers is so good.

I like the deco for ranked, with seekers and ninja squid it plays out quite nicely as you can lay a fake trail with the seeker and round enemies for the kill.

Aerospray RG is now my goto for turf wars, the turf you can cover with it is insane.
 
I have finally made it out of the hell hole that is B+, went down to 18 at one point but I made it.

I will now and try and stay in this B/B+ lobby for as long as possible :P
 
Am I correct in thinking that rollers/painters are useless in ranked?

Having to physically be in the square seems like a death sentence.

Hero Charge aka standard.

I stick to a theme so I stay with the octoling gear. Bomb Range Up, Ink Saver Sub, and Special Saver.

Hence why dynamos, with defensive utility and the sprinkler, see more play.
 
Someone tell me what the most effective weapons are in ranked

Please send help. I'm getting sergeant slaughtered out here. A veritable bloodbath of ink and rage as I yo-yo between C + and C regular more frequently than I yo-yo on my constant crazy diet schemes.

I just want to be a B - boy. Is that so much to ask?

Nah, they are very useful. I think Rollers are easiest weapons to use in Splat Zones. You are rarely going to be rolling around in the middle. You would only do that when it is safe to do so. The splash attack is super good at covering a large amount of territory in the zone(s).

The Krak-on Roller (spawn beacons are a god send) and both Dynamo Rollers are the rollers that people typically use.

There's no real "best weapon" I'd say but some are more effective than others. Since you're not going to be super focused on painting compared to Turf Wars, you might find a lot of use for some offensive weapons that go unrepresented. Though the AeroSpray is one of the weapons carrying over as a great contender you might find a lot of solace in using the Blaster or .52 Gal Deco since they're both great for taking out opponents. Personally I'm more of a .96 Gal myself but that has a much higher skill floor.

It's another question dependent on playstyle and whether you'd prefer to be the person to make the quick captures, or the one who keeps it clean.

I think you would. I'm a big fan of Destiny PVP too. Just got back into playing a ton of Destiny when House of Wolves dropped. Well, I was until Splatoon dropped. Haven't turned on Destiny since and I've put in 43 hours of Splatoon in a week. I was shocked to see that I've put that much time already. Time just kind of melts away when you play, especially when you're on a good roll. I'd recommend picking it up.

Dunno I use the krak-on roller (my main weapon) and it works very well, both as a support, with the antennas, and killing with the shot-gunning and the kraken.

I don't know, I've been using the paint brush recently in ranked, and that paired with ninja squid seems to work very well.

Also first post, yay! I'm real now :P

I don't think I seen the Dynamo Roller yet. I always get paired with Krak-on Rollers. So annoying when you think you got the kill then Krakon transformation and ded.

Guess I have to learn to "get gud" with Rollers. My weapon of choice has been Splattershot-esque weapons.

Rollers and Snipers are the best imo. Rollers if you prefer aggressive play and Snipers for defensive.

You start at 30.

The 2nd last game gave me 8 points so I was at 98 points before I got to 99. I would have been pissed off if I lost the last game lol.

It isn't as common as Krak-on Rollers, but you should see some eventually. Its splash attack spread is amazing.

This might sound kinda nuts, but I kinda want a co-op campaign similar to what Portal 2 had.

No idea how it would be implemented, but it being split-screen would be neat.

We have been concentrating on streaming and not recording so not sure about file sizes.

Then you wake up and realise the Bubbler activated it while no-one was near him, one of the Instrikers used it on the enemy base and the Inkzooka guy just sprayed it on home turf to get him more points to get another.

It's the one with a squid with a halo and a clock next to it I think. It shortens respawn time from 5 seconds to 3

Nope. Ramps and inclined surfaces count, but walls do not
