Forza Motorsport 6 has "wet weather, 3D puddles and night races" + more

has less polys + fully detailed interiors.
Not hugely noticeable from that distance, though.
Yeah it's a good thing though. If rendering less cars gives you more power to play with, why not render nicer models for the ones that are there. Driveclub does the same thing, as it's good optimization. That way you aren't wasting extra power by rendering way over your target framerate. (No point in rendering at 50 fps if your target is 30 as long as you can keep it at 30.)

Yup, having different LODs for a single car versus multiple car grids is a good optimization and luxury that most developers most likely wouldn't afford (creating multiple LODs is neither cheap nor easy), but in the end it will give a bit better look for those single grid events. Nothing to be ashamed about, it's only a positive in my eyes.

Porsches coming to Forza Horizon 2 tomorrow. $9.99. The expansion also applies them to Forza Motorsport 6 so Porsches are confirmed for Forza 6.

Anybody that says Ryse's image quality is shit, I don't believe has actually played the game. It being 900p didn't hurt its image quality at all, and playing it for yourself on the Xbox One would easily back that up. Don't pay attention to stills or even heavily compressed videos that paint a very misleading picture of what the game looks like in action.

I bought, finished, and regret buying that damn game.

Can't wait to see how they modelled the interior of 277, fucked-up mis-matched seats et al.

It's from the press release:

Forza Horizon 2 Porsche Expansion
Porsche is coming to Forza Horizon 2! Arriving on June 9 exclusively in Forza Horizon 2 for Xbox One, the Forza Horizon 2 Porsche Expansion will bring ten amazing Porsche models for the first time to an Xbox One Forza game. With Porsche models like the 1989 944 Turbo, the 2003 Carrera GT, and the 2014 911 GT3 RS 4.0, the Porsche Expansion Pack will give fans the chance to explore southern Europe in some of the legendary German manufacturer's most beloved cars.

Bringing Porsche to Forza Horizon 2 is fantastic news for Xbox fans and, even better, it's just the start! The Forza Horizon 2 Porsche Expansion is the result of an agreement between Porsche, EA, and Xbox to bring the Porsche experience to all Xbox One players. In addition to the Forza Horizon 2 Porsche Expansion, this agreement also includes adding Porsche models to Forza Motorsport 6. We will have more details to share in the future on this integration.

In addition to an amazing field of cars, the Forza Horizon 2 Porsche Expansion will include 10 new Bucket List Porsche-themed Bucket List events in Forza Horizon 2, 10 exclusive Porsche Rivals events, and 15 achievements worth a total of 500 Gamerscore points on Xbox Live.

I always felt that the cardboard crowds in forza 5 were a late change in development, the reveal trailer had 3D people and the cutouts are really lazy with black outlines, terrible lighting and overall look nasty, it had to have been a last minute adjustment.

Mmm.. no '71 911T mean no Magnus Walker 277 in the Horizon lineup.

Maybe DLC or FM6 exclusive..?

Great news, could be due to EA's license about to end so they might have done it cheaper than usual, but in any case it's great to see a great list of Porsches for FH2 and hopefully a similar list for F6 too (still hoping other games can follow suit).

That's the list for Horizon DLC though, isn't it? Not for the FM6 Porsches?

Awesome news about Porsche... hopefully all the cars above arrive in 6.

but please Forza team... give us more options like PCars. Seat adjustments, HUD customizations, world movement , settings for weather variations through a race etc...

I can't take this anymore! Porsche in FM6, my god. I hope it won't be another expansion, just put them in the release car roster.

Someone mentioned their 10th anniversary, MS showed us some love last year with MCC, I can totally see them doint it again with Forza this year (just please don't bring back the technical side). Full fan service FM, new engine, fantasy tracks, weather and TOD. I'm dying til monday.

So if the game has dynamic lighting will this fix the awful contrasts on some tracks? I always felt some tracks were too bright in some areas then took dark in shadows especially cockpit view.

Not a developer or anything, but I think dynamic lighting actually makes way more difficult to control the lighting contrast value of the tracks. With prebaked lighting obviously you can adjust it in a much more refined way

The 2D crowd in FM5 is worst because they don't move. I would be ok if FM6 didn't have any spectators. Would look better than static cardboard cutouts and it would free up some resources.

THIS IS NOT A COMPARISON AHEAD AND NOT TRYING TO DERAIL NOTHIN', JUST POINTING OUT A FEATURE...

A really cool feature in DC is the ability to change the crowd size, small, med, large and Off. That removes the crowd and all of the colored flags that help indicate turns. Pretty cool option, gives the game a more natural feel through the countrysides.

Would be nice if more games had it. Race Pro and MotoGP had near empty stands in qualifying and practice sessions. Was a nice touch.

To agree with some of the other posters about TOD, I think it'd be great to just have a few choices of lighting/weather per track. Even if it's not dynamic, it'd give a bit more variability to the same tracks.

Excellent news about Porsche!

Man, I miss Forza, wife surprised me with a Ps4 last Father's Day, haven't gotten a One yet. Probably will when this comes out. Killed me to not play 5 and FH2, but time is limited for now.

So did Forza never have Porche vehicles? I never really noticed since they have so many cars to choose from.

To me they all blend together. But I have never been a fan of sports cars. In real life I'll take a minivan over any sports car any day.

Nope, there's a license agreement with EA and Porsche. So in order for any game to have Porsche in it, they would have to negotiate with EA to have them included. Which is why with F4 and now FH2, they were DLC.

Good thing it's a video game and you don't have to take practicality into account with anything.
I'm totally with you, if someone threw me a hundred grand I'd probably just buy an SUV over a sports car.

Porsche has always been restricted to EA games. There was a pack for FM4(which was wonderful), but Porsche skipped Horizon and FM5.

Definitely hit us up when you get one, Horizon 2 will still definitely be worth picking up after Forza 6 drops.

...and here I am, as a car lover, hating being a responsible adult, LOL.

I traded in my Corvette and Mustang to get my wife and daughters a new SUV. Glad they have a safe ride....super sad I don't have my sports cars anymore.

Edit** If someone handed me $100k to toss at a car, I'd drop it on an F360 or F430 Spider...have wanted one for years.

That is a feature of DC I like.

Previous Forza games on X360 did adjust the crowd levels. If you were racing there were crowds. But if you were time trialing the crowds were removed.

You were also given a higher detailed car as the track detail and the lack of other cars made this a non-issue.
