Maybe I'm just crazy, but the transitions from third-person sliding to first person shooting looked smooth as fuck. Whether or not that will translate as well when I'm the dude controlling the view can't be answer till I can play it. Melee combat doesn't look super deep, but having that evade maneuver makes it look like a good step-up from War Hammer 40K: Space Marine's successful meld of TPS and hack and slash.

So yeah, day one.
 
I feel like this could be the next RE6 where the gameplay is top-notch but everyone hates on it for the campaign and ignore everything else that's actually good.

Would be a shame if Nintendo completely abandons it before release but I wouldn't be surprised with the reaction it's generated
 
I don't know what to think about the ADS stuff. I suspect it's for shooting/melee balance purposes, but it just looks so jarring. Well, I hope it has support to gyro controls at least.
 
Ah, I figured it out. The main character was designed after a series of marketing research interviews by Dentsu where the panels of consumers were entirely populated by guys who are still teaching English at 38 years old.
 
Game looks really janky, from the animations to the transitions between 3rd person and 1st person. It also looks sort of fun in a silly way though

I think it looks like a ton of fun. I like that Itagaki is finally putting it out- I hope that he stops by the Treehouse again and shows us some crazy multiplayer action and customization. It looks way more polished than last year, and he looks pretty damn confident. I've always respected the man, and his vision. So Day 1, it shall be. I want this to be a great go-to for some wild multiplayer matches on Wii U!

This game is a top reason for me to buy a Wii U again so count me in asap.

I'm so glad to see this type of game make it out in today's market. Everyone is so afraid of taking risks and it makes everything be the same. I couldn't care less for what it looks like and it definitely looks a lot better than the first time it was shown. Hell, this place went nuts saying Fallout 4 looks bad so fuck it. Who cares as long as I have my fun.
 
Would rather spend money on this than Mario Party 10, tbqh.

Well even if the singleplayer won't be good, the multiplayer part looks like it's tons of fun and has a lot of content with all the base building, customization etc. Will buy day 1! :)

I understood you better when you said "I don't like the way the main character looks." Now I'm left with questions I'm not sure I want answers to.
 
Another fresh, arcade, non serious game on Wii U.

It IS the new Dreamcast. It's a curse, just as much as it's a blessing :)

Some of my best gaming experiences are with low budget PS2 looking games :) aka EDF2! (ok it WAS a PS2 game but i'll ignore that part for now :P )

Looks like fun from the trailer, think I'll pick it up.
 
Looks like lots of fun. It's not the best looker (understandably so, being a port from a troubled PS360 game and with not so big of a budget probably), but it's also not some kind of game that you can get on Wii U regularly. Most probably the online community will be made mostly of GAF and that will be pretty damn nice.

Also this thread is one of the examples of the bad side of GAF.

I get the "looks bad" posts. I understand the coolness of posting "looks like shit" and I think the "looks like PS2" posts say more about the poster than the game itself.

What I don't get is why there is a bigger discussion about anything else (from how it will bomb to why Nintendo is funding it - like there was ever even a discussion that this will be successful in any way) than the trailer or the game itself. And I'm sorry to say, but the mods posts on the first page encourage this derail.
