The official german playstation facebook page just posted a pic of poll... the question was "Will the last guardian be at this year's E3?"

All those non-believers are going to get the shock of their life next week.

Here's how I see this going down, in my dreams

Shu Yoshida comes out on stage. There's already a murmur in the crowd and excitement in the air. " I am incredibly excited to announce this next game, but I will have someone else do it, as this has been a long time coming ". Suddenly curtains open behind the stage and there is a giant orchestra. Otani is at the helm and begins to play some of his epic tunes. You see a short video of Ico playing , morphing into a short video of Shadow of the Colossus and then the lights go out and the Prelude song begins to play. Ueda steps out on stage to introduce The Last Guardian. Otani plays a new song from the soundtrack of the game and we are treated to a nice long 8-10 minute epic trailer. Crowd goes berserk. GAF goes down. Internet dies and there's nothing but the griffins face wherever you go.

Then Shu comes out on stage to shake hands with Ueda and then goes, " oh and one more thing guys "

Suddenly you see Sakaguchi come out on stage

No one knows what happens next because there is no internet anymore.

I actually had to google "the last guardian" a few weeks ago because I kept seeing people lose their shit over it on gaf and had no idea what it was. A new game by the guys who made shadow of the colossus sounds pretty cool tho.

What if The Last Guardian is revealed... and then it looks like a bad game?

Game has been under development for 8 years and has cycled between dead/not dead. Its creator, left Sony and has been helping as an outside consultant. I don't think anyone has seen a screenshot or a video in years. It is being "re-engineered" by a small team at Sony who's most recent work was Knack.

Other than the hype that exists because the game became a running joke, there is a lot moving against this game.

Watched the trailer a few times over the last day. It still looks great, the Cat Eagle especially looks fantastic.

It would be so amazing to see it again. Hopefully we will!

I think they have to at least show a trailer this year. Last year the cancellation BS from IGN had to be the low point of the TLG legacy. Obviously it's harder to react in a day or two with a trailer (especially if it was in an earlier state) but I'd imagine they know that they need to show something so people will relax. I'm sure they don't want to re-reveal it until they are absolutely certain it's coming out, but at the same time, the rumors have to be forcing their hand at this point

Every indication is that Mark Cerny was "sent in" to help the team focus and actually finish The Last Guardian. Don't get so caught-up with things like "Mark's team" etc.

I guess this makes sense considering the rumour about Mark Cerny and the Knack-team working on it. Not really making me very confident in it though.

GAF is going to go down once this appears on the screen again!

This will be me during the Sony conference:

And if they show The Last Guardian with a release date:

Stop?
How about Red Dead Redemption 2 (timed) exclusive for PS4 and a Crash Bandicoot reboot?

Myeah... Even in the infinity of parallel universes, I don't think there's one where Sony would show at E3 The Last Guardian, Red Dead Redemption 2 as a timed exclusive for PS4, Crash Bandicoot reboot, Uncharted, Horizon, Persona 5, Morpheus...

EDIT: Why not go all the way and also announce that Hideo Kojima is doing a Silent Hills spinoff with Sony.

Its a believable year for it to show up. The cancellation thing a year ago probably lit a fire under Sony to make them convince people that they are actually working on it.

I don't want to get my hopes up that this will ever be released or, if it is released, that it will be as good as SoTC. But there are plenty of examples of games that emerged from long dev cycles and were great (Team Fortress 2, Fallout 3, Morrowind). There are also plenty of examples of games that emerged and were crap (Duke Nukem Forever). I really wonder what's been going on behind the scenes in this instance.

This doesn't even exist.
Aren't these people working for Sony Japan ? People get dispatched from a project to another. They may have worked on TLG then something else and now back on TLG. Or not. Who knows, who cares ?

And I don't see how having worked on Knack implies that they're not competent enough for TLG

Except wasn't the Knack team just the TLG team? They moved from that to Knack and now back to TLG.

i'm going to greece for a week on sunday i need to have full media black out until i get back. not going on gaf by the pool with my beer in my hand, while soaking up the rays is going to be hard

if i could edit that gif i would make the gaf logo the cupcakes

I don't see how Kojima would be a good fit for this game. Team Ico games tell their story with beautiful images and feels without too much dialogue.

I love MGS, but I don't want Kojima near the art piece that TLG will
hopefully
be.

Imagine if Kojima made the Souls games?
