I'm really excited about the async mode, btw.
Cosign. Also Cristy Vee for VA plz.
Instead of having us go through four shitty stretch goals to reach the wanted fifth one, why not have all five stretch goals be interesting and constructive to the design of the game to begin with.
What a shitty incentive, a mode that literally creates itself.
Sounds like Rogue Legacy, but without the gimmick.
Booo the 5 mil goal. I already dislike procedurally generated stuff, but it is also the exact opposite that I would want from a metroidvania game. I love them for their great maps purposeful exploration, and generated stuff removes the meaning of that.
Well, I'm loving the new announcement and even considering raising my pledge to $125 to get a physical PS4 copy with all the extra exclusives and what-have-you.
I sent them a question regarding the beta access, but does anyone know if they've said anything regarding access still being given to people who pick a console physical item and then have the PC as the additional digital copy in the $125 tier?
I had originally only done the $100 tier and wanted to get beta access with pc as my digital game. I emailed them and they said you could absolutely do that.

That's good to know... I had the exact same question myself. -_- Probably in for either $125 or $175, then.I had originally only done the $100 tier and wanted to get beta access with pc as my digital game. I emailed them and they said you could absolutely do that.
The $125 and $175 tiers come with two copies of the game: one physical, one digital. You can pick any platform for each version, and both versions come with the premium backer bonuses -- and for the PC releases, the beta is one of the bonuses. (Note this does not apply to $28 add-ons, even if your base pledge is above $60.)The FAQ says this:
"If I choose a console version, can I still participate in the beta?
No, you must choose Steam or GOG as one of your platforms and back at the $60+ tier. If you wish to add the beta as an add-on purchase, you must add-on any of the $60+ PC versions."
I guess that's outdated now?
Anyway, the thought of procedural dungeons/castle/whatever entered my mind but they seemed so un-Castlevania-like that I kind of just dismissed the thought. Woah.

No it means one randomly generated dungeon.Roguelike Dungeon? Hmm... does this mean a random generated game?

It would only be one dungeon. I dont see the harm in that. Actually, I would welcome it.
1. Daily challenge where everyone has the same dungeon layout and competes for the highest score.
If we make the $5 million goal there's some things I hope they include:

2. Seeded runs
Sharing/repeating dungeons through passwordsYes, plssssssssss for 1, not sure what 2 means.

Isn't that confirmed in the update, though?
I guess the reminder hour is when things potentially heat up.

I am so glad to see the massive funding this is getting.
I do have to say that the stretch goals, which are mostly cool, do not really interest me. I would prefer the focus to be on a singular awesome campaign, and the stretch goals were "The castle gets bigger" instead of a new playable character and such.
But I do realize that new modes and such are what is keeping the contributors excited and involved. But whatever, this is cool.
I do sort of doubt they will get to implementing the majority of these stretch goals. And if they do, the main game will suffer.

The extra money should mostly be going to polishing the game and increasing the scope, if the stretch goals are planned correctly, so yes, it may in fact increase the size of the castle, and if not, at least it should increase the quality of the base game. They are usually meant to be milestones that bring in more money than they cost, to help increase the funding

I'm a little worried about that too. It's not that they don't have the money to do it, it's just that all these features/modes require time to develop. I just hope his team will be up to the task. There are so many modes and bonuses in this thing i really hope they can deliver.

Thinking maybe the game won't actually come out by March 2017. Though I guess we'll see. They have 21 months to do it.I'm a little worried about that too. If I'm reading this right...are they really making physical Japanese Wii U and PS4 copies? Pretty sure I am, but just want to double check.
"Will my Physical/Digital Console version be able to play in my region?
Yep! For any of the discs or download codes that require a region, you'll receive a survey sometime after the Kickstarter has ended that you can use to select your console's region."
Have they revealed Miriam's voice actress yet? I hope they don't make her a mute "blank slate". She deserves a personality and a background.
Who'd you like to voice her in English? I'd love another MGS alumni to voice her too so I'll have to say Jennifer Hale for Miriam!
I've never played a Castlevania game but oh my god I am getting excited for this game. I backed it last night. I backed the digital PS4 version.
The only Metroidvania I have played is Super Metroid and Strider 2014 (is this a metroidvania?). Will Bloodstained be similar in any regards?
Please no Jennifer Hale, I hear her voice way too much these days and it would be better just to give it a lesser known VA.
The exploration elements of those and the Igavania games are very similar. I think the main difference you'll notice is the inclusion of rpg elements in Iga's games such as leveling up and a large amount of different weapons/armor.
What the hell is a Roguelike Dungeon?
