Yes, sadly it's a must because otherwise people will abuse their routers.
I had two communcations errors in the one and a half hours I played today. There should be a way to reconnect to a game or something.

E-Liter is apparently my best friend on Kelp dome. Burst Bombs, echolocater, high tank capacity sniping. Only thing that can control the chaos for me besides going nuts with aerospray and getting as much as I give or attempting to use the bubbler in bursts with splattershot.

so my little strategy I've been using as a charger on Kelp Dome for Turf Wars

camp and refill ink at A, it's a pretty safe postion and you overlook most of the left side of the map and parts of the mid
if nothing is going on or the game is almost over, you can move up to B and ink their territory. It's also rather easy to retreat from there again
I haven't really figured out what's going on at C, but there's less open space there and the area is cramped so nah I stay at A thank you

I have come to the conclusion that the kraken is under powered

it's so easily countered. really funny to see people use it as a trump card in a stand off and then I'll just swim around them and splat them immediately after it finishes. I imagine many curse words were yelled at the TV screen.

It's certainly not OP but it's not UP either. Like most tactics, you have to increase the mindgames as you progress up the ranks.

If you use it as a selfish bubbler, then it's definitely easily countered. But I've found new effectiveness in breaking choke points and splitting a coordinated enemy rush.

Without trying it, the e-liter seems like it would be pretty great on Kelp Dome. The map is just so huge, and there's a couple good vantage points to camp and cover a lot of the map with.

118-0516 is a firewall message during matchmaking, either at your place or at some player you connect to. I get that error (and the 118-0502) message occasionally, but I just try again and it usually works.

No echolocator? That and Cold Blooded are a must.

I hate the .56 Gal. It's pretty much the only weapon I fear when using the .96 Gal.

Kelp Dome Splat Zones...Ink Strike Zone. It takes just one Ink Strike to take the zone lol. I know it is cause it is a square, but still. You have to pray that you have Ink Strikes on your team lol.

118-0516 has nothing to do with your connection, but rather with your router blocking out communication between the console and the outside due to firewall settings, etc. This issue can often be fixed by putting your Wii U in your router's DMZ or by using port forwarding (see Nintendo support website for a quick and dirty guide). Or, if you're a sucker like me, your router doesn't allow any such thing and you're left spamming the join button for half an hour until you get into a game.

I only got to try Kelp Dome twice and I was using the Krak-on Roller. Losing with that + the disconnects I randomly got made me put the game down for the night.

I'll try sporting an Echolocator for the map if its on rotation. Might stay away from using the Roller though, despite a shotgun-like weapon being ideal for a map like this.

I think it is the former. From what I saw in the official video, even your ink color is locked during that time. Maybe I misunderstood.

The points you gain and lose depends on the average rank of the opposing players. If the average is better than your team's average, then you'll get +12.

I dunno how I lost 1 point during a loss. I think I was fighting a ton of As.

I've done kelp dome, just don't like it for a few reasons

- Super Jump is fairly useless because your teammates are probably near the opposing team in an open area, so you're wide open.

- Slow traversal on catwalks. I do like being able to fall through them though, but not enough to resolve my issue here.

- It's just too big. You could probably go a whole match without seeing an opponent and still get a bunch of points. Great for leveling, but not as fun as other stages.

Basically do what Destiny's mobile app does - allow you to change your loadout to view stats on the go, maybe with a guide for special ability strategies as well.
