Koji Igarashi Kickstarts Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night (2.5D, backdash, 2018)

Wouldn't surprise me. Apparently Castlevania HD made for $15K.

I see this number thrown around a lot, but I have a hard time believing it, especially considering the game has new Japanese AND English voicework. Even if each character only had between 25-100 lines, they still had to bring in multiple actors, and there are some big names involved (Norio Wakamoto, HIkaru Midorikawa, Ryoutarou Okiayu, and Chiwa Saito stand out to me just at a quick glance on the Japanese end).

Cool,we have a 3rd playable character now! i don´t care about the last three goals tbh.
I wonder if Iga is satisfied with the kickstarter.

Poor Xbone...

POLL TIME! Which version(s) of Bloodstained will you be getting?

Choosing PS4 for my physical copy. But I know I'll double dip on Steam. I marked Vita as well, but that's only because I'm crossing my fingers for cross-buy. However I won't be disappointed if cross-buy isn't a feature.

I originally backed for $100 tier... but I may increase to $150 for that hardbound art book.

I want PS4 physical and have backed accordingly, but I will eventually want retail Wii U and Vita as well. Considering upping to $120 to get that physical vita copy because you know that shit will be rare as fuck.

Voice actors are probably a lot cheaper than you'd think. Also the amount of new VA work was minimal. The majority was reused.

Lament of Innocence had nice production value,

It did but I don't think it was a 5M dollar game. And they reused the engine twice (Nanobreaker, CoD) and the assets once (CoD).

I posted this in my current playthrough thread a few days ago, but I didn't get any replies, so I'm doing it here. What's a recommended way to increase the drop rates of items on enemies in Order of Ecclesia? I haven't gotten any Mandragora Roots, and Horse Hair. All of my monster summoning spells are still at the level 1 area too. I read online it levels up with kills from the monster and absorbing glyphs, but the kills aren't doing it and it takes forever for a monster to drop a glyph.

I think I'm at the last level at the game and I think it would be nice if I could get these.

I honestly can't tell ya. I won't come out until 2017. If everything goes smooth PS4. If it doesn't Wii U.

Boost your Luck stat through equipment as much as possible. It effects item and glyph drop rates. It's the only way.

There's also a glyph somewhere too that boosts your Luck based on a % of your Luck.

I have the garbon hat and two lucky clovers equipped. How much more do I need?

It's never gonna be enough to have a massive impact, but keep stacking it. Every little bit helps some. Fortune Ring is one of the better Luck items (in fact, the best Luck item if your play time is high). Thief's Ring is good too.

I think it's more indicative of the fanbase that is backing this project. The vast majority of modern Metroidvania fans experienced SotN on Sony platforms.

That, and every other IGAvania since came out on nintendo handhelds too. Xbox owners didn't even get one until SOTN got a port followed by CV HD

There were only a handful on CV games on MS Platforms anyway.

The MSX version of the first game, Curse of Darkness, a 360 port of SotN and the reboot stuff I think is about it.

I'm very undecided too. On one hand I'd love to play the beta and that means pledging 60+ on PC. On the other I barely play on PC and PS4 is my preferred platform, followed by the Vita. I'd love to support Armature too for everything that they are doing. Ughhh

PC and WiiU of course <3 Since these days I find myself kind of wanting a Vita I might own one by the time this is released, so that too... Maybe. But PC and WiiU for sure. Now, GOG or Steam? :x Likely GOG. I love Steam but DRM free will always be my preferred option.

You can always just grab one of the other versions later. I intend to own both the PS4 and PC versions at one point

Fuuuck that last stretch goal... Quick! What are the odds that we actually get to this??

I've already dropped 150. But if I could get us closer to that vaunted goal, I will help!

I'd say the chances are pretty high at this rate. Last two days spike pretty hard.

It's completely within the realm of possibility. The PayPal total has to at least be $150k by now (probably more, but keeping my estimate on the low end), and we still have the huge boost that usually comes in the final hours. Most would say that it'll be cutting it close, but I think it's pretty much a lock. They'll hit it. I'm actually confident that they can hit it before they even start the countdown stream tomorrow.

Hnng I wish we had more confirmation on how things will be shared between the Vita and PS4.
What's the best way to ask them?
Wanted to know, since there's cross save, if the backer exclusive content would be shared between the platforms if I were to add on extra $28 tiers.

A bunch of people have asked the same question in the comment section, but I don't think any clarification was provided.

You should contact them via the campaign page to see if they get back to you; it seems to be the most reliable way of getting a hold of them.

does it go off your current playtime or does it start counting when you get it?

Current playtime.

You'll also start to notice that the rarity stars will start to go down on some items the more you increase Luck.

You're making want to play it again, and I already replayed it recently due to the Bloodstained hype, lol.

They said PS4/Vita cross save was a goal IIRC. I'd imagine the DLC would work on both too, but who knows.

Today's total has already passed yesterday's total with 11 hours to go!

So I just wanted to get this clear, before I change my pledge. It's been asked here, but I'm still a bit confused so I apologize if I get it wrong. I'm not very familiar with PC gaming, I do most of my stuff on the consoles, but those won't get beta access...

In order to get access to the beta on PC one needs to pledge 60+ on a physical or digital PC versions of the game. Therefore $60 PS4 + $28 PC wouldn't work, but the reverse would, correct? What it would mean is that I would get special goodies on PC and not on the PS4 (which is my preferred system here)... I'd have to pledge $60+$60 for both the beta, and the goodies on the Ps4 versions. But then, 60+60 = 120, which is just $5 short of the $125 tier. I heard people say you could pick the console version physical, and PC digital and still get the beta?

Also do both Steam and GOG versions of the PC game give you beta access?

Based on the poll, it seems like the wii u and vita version brought at least 25% more sales for the game. IGA did the right thing.

Flawed logic. Just because it's their platform of choice doesn't mean they wouldn't have backed otherwise. A lot of people seem to be getting it from multiple platforms too.

Not to say those platforms were a bad idea, etc. It's just not something we can see from the type of data we are getting. Aside from other flawslike the sample size, etc.

Absolutely. The installbase may be fairly low, but they're hungry gamers (raises hand). Even for folks like me who own all platforms, I'm doubling up for PS4 and Vita because of the Vita goal.

While we can't really put a % on what those platforms increased it by, it certainly helped.

You'd probably need to reframe it as "yeah but if you had only one option" to see how much it REALLY mattered. Granted some of the backers went for extra copies for that reason, but still.

If you're not pledging at the $125, $175, or higher level, you will need to have your PC version cost $60.

If you're considering two $60 orders, you're better off throwing in the extra $5 to select the $125 tier and getting all the extra goodies unless a physical PC copy is a must. The $125 tier allows you to select PS4 as your physical copy and PC as your digital copy; all kickstarter exclusives will be included with both copies and you'd still get beta access.

Finally, both Steam and GOG Windows PC copies will provide beta access if they meet the $60+ criteria.

I don't think it works this way considering there is 50k backers and 500 votes on that poll and you can vote for more than one lol.
