Splatoon |OT2| Prepare to Dye

Try using any weapon with a decent range, and you can massacre them. I normally try to avoid it by using the kraken or the killer wail, but a good Dual Squelcher user almost always destroy me, no matter how Ninja I try to be.
And Adam are you playing with low levels?

I'm level 18 now, I think. The rollers were all level 15+. They were just awful. The one guy stayed in the spawn the whole time painting over what we'd already painted. S/he never left. The entire other team was all level 20s, though.

Typically I deal with rollers by using my Splattershot Jr. I cover till I bubble, then I press their spawn. If you bubble right in front of them, they typically have no idea what to do. They just keep trying to roll over me.

Had a really laggy match a bit ago. Got shot from around the corner, while I was in squid form. Didn't make me salty, just made me laugh.

I need to start playing with you guys, once I feel like I"m good enough. I'm averaging 1000 points per game, and typically am top of my group...but I still feel like I could do better. lol

30 minutes too late, but whatever.

"New ranked stages, all right"

"Alowana Mall"

"Welp, no more ranked for me"

I don't even know what the other map is, Mall is just nope (I don't mind mall in turf war, but detest it on ranked and from reading this thread every now and then almost everyone does)

Just get a sprinkler.

So once I sign up for Splatfest, do I get points up from now to the day of the fest, or is it only for playing on the day of the fest? Do I have to be wearing my fest shirt for points to count?

When my wife and I were playing last night, she had some of the worst teammates I'd ever seen. She was a roller, and she had an inkbrush who just... FOLLOWED BEHIND HER THE ENTIRE GAME. Good lord.

Well I particularly love Arowana, but I admit my ranked experience is rather limited, as I only played ranked with rollers and chargers.

You guys are weird. Arowana Mall is a great map ranked or otherwise. Really fun. Actually, they all are.

Not sure that was bad strategy, since it sounds like you held the near splat zone the entire game. Perhaps it was because he stayed behind to defend, instead of abandoning it to push forward while a single enemy flanked and took it from behind?

I watched him on the mini map and he was idle a lot. He definitely cost us the game by not providing vital support when the near zone was safe. He really wasn't that effective hiding up there because they still took our zone enough to slightly push ahead, after driving us back in those 3v4 encounters a few times. I had another game more recently where something similar happened on Mackerel. One of my teammates just hung way back in the center for most of the match, not really contributing to anything. I had to run up to her and "scream" to follow. It was ridiculous.

One other thing that bugs me are teammates who don't cover for super-jumping teammates. I *always* hold, lay down as much paint, do a quick sweep, fend off incoming enemies until they land. The number of people who don't do this is terribly high. I practically jump with the expectation that I'll be left alone.

Well it's a great map for chargers... a bit too great. And if you pick a Dynamo roller and spam the attack the entire time you'll be fine too. Which is why I hate it.

mall is a fucking piece of shit and has like eighty percent chance of being picked when it's in the rotation

waste of fucking time

Lol

Just bought the game...

and a damn Wii U, thanks lack of impulse control.

Anyways, what's with the aiming? I turned off motion control, but it seems like the Y axis is way more sensitive than the X? Is there a slider I'm missing other then the general camera sensitivity?

LOL. Head to the right, cover your ramps and shower the stage below early if you got decent ink capacity. Anything with an inkwall, seekers or bomb holds that position well. If you got something slow like a charger hit the tower on the left and snipe like mad. Echolocation helps a lot. If you got pure power like a Roller play it smart and swim hidden as much as you can and swim up ramps to take out folks laying ink and sniping. Anyone tries to clear the hilly ramps in the middle while you're down there you just start tossing seekers, bombs inkwalls or whatever. .52 gal and .52 gal deco work well down below and up top here because they cover well, kill fast, and completely ruin folks with inkwall blocking their push attempts on the middle lane and seeker swim up sniping out folks on the upper corners that snipe.

Stay calm and splat on.

When you're aiming down the reticule likes to snap to the ground. I assume they did that to aid with painting but it's just annoying when you're fighting someone up close. Lower aiming speed can make it a little better since you'll have more precision, but then you can't make quick movements when people are all over the place. I never got used to it and just moved to using the brush and roller instead since it only affects the projectile weapons.

Man this board today...

One great tactic on mall is playing Splat Charger with Ink Wall and Ink Saver sub/ Ink recovery up.

Get on the sniping tower on the right and place a Ink Wall facing the splat zone. This way you are free to snipe everyone on the central area and only have to take care about the cat walk and your back, much easier to defend from.

Yeah Ink wall is probably the go to sub weapon to shoot for on that map. It effectively cuts off all traffic in the middle meaning if you can hold one lane on the side by your snipe point you can hold your ground period. Effectively two folks (one on right and one on left) sniping that stage with inkwalls occassionally thrown makes it so the rest of your team can go full bore infantry and just non stop push to pin folks down and procure territory. Ideally I want one .52 gal, one Splatterscope, and the rest can be whatever. Best I did was I had the first two with me playing .52 gal and my partners were a splattershot rocking the bubbler and a rapid blaster firing tons of ink coverage. Just could lose territory and they couldn't kill the ones they were close to and couldn't run past due to sniping and too much ink.

Which Charger has an Ink Wall???

Which Charger has an Ink Wall???

Not really a charger but the Jet Squelcher is what I rocked. Dunno about the above post because splat charger has splat bombs not an inkwall. Not certain any charger does. Kelp splat charger and Kelp splatterscope has a sprinkler which helps but its not the quite the same. Squelcher works for this though. Plus it has ink strike. Range is good enough and it has a good fire rate. If you got a choice I'd use .52 gal for the inkwall and ability to lob some kill power over the middle hill to snuff out folks camping and waiting to charge when it dies. Its also good for upper right corner ink coverage/cover fire.

One of the best for that stage.

Picked up a cool 1700 score on Urchin Underpass and more or less single-handedly dragged the rest of my moron team to victory. Ridiculously proud of myself.

GGs all. Going to take a break for a while.

Hey! you were destroying squids left and right rocking that amiibo set ha ha! nice games! got tremendous delays on my end, here's hoping changing the provider this week will make things a little bit more smooth.
