Massive props to the writers and directors of HTT. Definitely the best piece of external media the Halo universe has ever produced imo. Absolutely fantastic. I cannot wait for season 2.

Ben showed up on a TV interview just to be framed as a terrorist because all his "leads" are oni's setup. He was arrested on site. Petra takes over the story.

And I'm going to kill every ONI I see in Halo 5 including Sully and Osman if I can.

Can somebody please sum up what actually happened in the end?

Ben goes on a huge news network to lay it all out to the public, but the files he sent to the network get altered and therefore invalidated, while his own files are wiped. Then Ben's key witness, Petrosky, comes on to basically whitewash Ben's story and implicate him. The host of the news network colors Ben as a traitor pretty early on, flustering Ben and making him seem untrustworthy. He's taken into ONI custody.

Petra then explains that FERO was an ONI plant, and pretty much everything after Ben meeting her was ONI playing him. Setting him up to be the fall guy, while absolving themselves of blame and simultaneously restoring Chief's honor. Petra was played by ONI too (ONI gave Petra the coordinates to the server, which she passed along to Ben, which proved to be Ben's downfall). That hurt her pride, so she's going to pick up where Ben left off and expose ONI and the S-II program.
