Maybe Square Enix read my suggestion and simply remastered FF7 PSX by remaking the backgrounds and replacing the character models, while keeping the code identical.

Color me surprised if it's a full on remake with brand new direction. This would be too much of a minefield, both in fan reception and in potential fuck ups of a classic.

Tho, if this is revealed as being the game that Ito has been working on (and why Nomura had to leave FFXV), I wont hide my raging hard-on response.

Does Square have the manpower to do this when they're working on FF15 and KH3 at the same time? And presumably DQ11 as well? It seems really improbable to me.

And on the off chance a remake/remaster was a reality, the quickest Square could do would be asset upgrades while keeping the gameplay exactly the same, pre-rendered backgrounds (with upgraded graphics) and all, but I don't think that's what people have in mind when it comes to this (I could be wrong, though).
