8/10

best MS conference in years. solid show, but needed one more mic drop to top it off.

8/10 sounds about right. No big surprises, but a solid showing.

BC, elite controller, hololens demo, Dark Souls 3, new Inafune game, new Rare IP, Fallout 4 mods, indie showcase (Cuphead!!). I guess Dark Souls 3 would have been bigger had it not leaked? But it's a pretty strong conference.

They chose a really bad part of gears to show off. You could barely even really see the game and they didn't show anything for the fans of the series, I feel.

I would give it a solid 7/10. Kinda weak in the middle, but otherwise pretty decent.

This was a great baseline for upcoming conferences, especially if you have your expectations in check.

Overall not a bad conference. Things slowed down a bit with the Rare game and Hololens, but the emulation announcement, Rare Replay, and Gears were pretty nice. Looking forward to seeing Quantum Break and Scalebound at gamescom.

What a solid conference.

fallout 4 console mods exclusive.
backwards compatibility
hololens was amazing.
valve and oculus VR deals
exclusive after exclusive.
indie games were solid
early access with free trials
the new controller

it was basically game after game, solid solid conference.

Really have no idea what got people excited about Gears 4 other than the name. It's coming from a totally unproven studio with very little of the talent that crafted the original trilogy.

The showing was pretty bland even in the parts that were visible.

Well, that was certainly a Microsoft conference. Zero ambition, zero innovation, zero surprises, just more of the same each and every year. Fine if you like that sort of thing, but no reason to buy an XBox One if you're after anything out of the ordinary or with any semblance of individuality or soul.

I liked the conference, but god damn it's going to be a busy week on Xbox.

Free EA Access content + Gears Beta + Backwards Compatibily (Beta).

I give it a B- for some solid megatons and interesting reveals.

Pros

Backwards compatibility

Dark Souls 3 (Music already sounds nice)

Minecraft Hololens

Fallout 4 Mod support

Indies (Cuphead is so unique)
Cons

Halo 5

Gears 4

These two did absolutely nothing for me. Never liked Gears and this didn't look amazing.

Tomb Raider is meh for me.

3/10 for me.

BC is cool sure. Not sure if it was a feature "everyone wanted!!!" to begin with. Personally, I don't see what the big deal is with BC. But whatever, glad they did that except for the fact that Mass Effect 1 ran like shit.

Other than that, nothing new, Microsoft refuses to use Rare's good IPs, like always, Gears of War is not that great, and the rest of the games were meh.

nothing new? you knew of all the secret stuff before hand like new rare game and recore?

IMO they didn't show enough of the jaw-droppingly good (Forza 6) and too much of the "already been seen" (fallout 4).

The ROTTr demo was also surprisingly bland, but it looked good.

Halo 5 campaign didn't grab me at all - I like being Master Special Snowflake, not just another squad member, but again it looked awesome graphically.

6/10, Rare collection, Backwards Compat, some interesting new IPs were great but conf was a little boring and Gears couldn't see shit in that.

I walk up stairs to find my dad watching the conference on TV. Weird. Anyway, the official dad verdict: These games have as many options as Dragon’s Lair but with better paint, Cuphead was the best looking game they showed, Hololens is cool.

They chose a really bad part of gears to show off. You could barely even really see the game and they didn't show anything for the fans of the series, I feel.

I think all their game demos were weak. The halo segment wasn't very interesting and the TR one was way too bombastic.

Conference could be great for 1-st person shooter fans. I was underwhelmed.

I don't like first-person shooters, so Halo 5, Fallout (same trailer, lol), and Rainbow 6, and Gears did nothing for me.

Spotlight on indies was pretty neat.

EA access was boring. I don't care.

Backwards compatibility and elite controller was pretty cool.

Don't have an opinion on Lara Croft (have the reboot, but haven't played).

Dark Souls III was neat. Short CG trailer. Not a fan of crowns and giant lords returning. :|

Only intriguing thing was ReCore.

Mediocre conference at best, was honestly hoping for more.

Backwards compatibility is cool but if I wanted to play my 360 games I would on the 360 that is sitting under my TV. The coolest part is the streaming and online play. As a PS4 owner (And Soon to be Xbone Owner) I think it is a noteworthy feature but not as big of a deal that people are making it out to be. If anything it is just a fanboy bullet point that most people will brag about but 98% won't even use it.

As for the rest, Sea of Thieves was the best game I saw. Very intrigued by it. everything else was decent but not great.

And WTF was with the Gears 4 Footage at the end?? I felt like they made it so dark to cover up how unfinished it was and the gameplay they showed wasn't even all that exciting.

Phil and Xbox talk a big game but nothing in that conference backed it up in my opinion.

Pretty good overall. Backwards compatability was the bomb shell got weaker from there. Halo looked like Halo, Gears looked like gears, not to many new announcements and disapointed that I'm more excited for the Rare collection then Sea of Thieves...

Solid for sure. I think Halo looked pretty impressive and Gears looked decent. The rare game looked super cool, but pity it is a mmo. Backwards compatibility is good for sure, but its not a big deal to me at all playing since I can barely keep up with the games currently release.

I'd give it a B. Nothing that new, no big surprises except for the rare game, but pretty good overall.

9/10

I like how people discount the new reveals to fit their narrative of "no new reveals."

Inafune. The new rare game looks fantastic. Rare collection will be fantastic. Quite a few console exclusive indie reveals that look good (ashen caught my eye).

A good portion of live or recorded actual gameplay for a lot of the games, including Halo, Gears, and Tomb Raider. New hardware and features.

I think there are just a lot of sour grapes in this thread...

Looking forward to all the other shows today.

Very strong conference. Strong hardware announcements, game after game after game. No lame exec forcing his way onstage to bore us with yapping, no dufus spouting about a lame TV show for 15 minutes. Excellent.

Exactly. Some people are impossible to please. They had an amazing showing, the games look great and even had some bombs to drop.

Very interested in ReCore and Cuphead looked cool. Can probably live without everything else though.

Was juggle work and the conference at the same time so I might have missed something, but the biggest surprise from what I can gather is no Call of Duty. Sony lockdown, maybe? Meh.
