I didn't catch all of it (doctors appt) but what I can see and read, I'd give it a 7/10.

I was already expecting not see ME, and other multi-platform games since EA, etc has their own shows to hype them up.

I was happy to see backwards compatitbilty coming and was not expecting it. I was expecting a Playstation Now type service, not this. How much I'll use it though in another story. Only reason I would use it is for Mass Effect if there is no remaster coming.

Halo look OK from my iPhone (streaming via youtube) but will have to get the MCC collection to play the older games if I decide to get the new one.

The indie games looked really good and shows a diverse type of games. Cuphead is a day 1 purchase for me.

the Rare collection is a day 1 purchase just for Battletoads alone. But was washing for a new banjo game, oh well. the pirate game looked good but it will be a wait & see before I buy it.

Forza looked good (as expected) and will pick that up day 1.

don't care much for holo lense since I only really got 1 good eye so all the VR stuff can go away. what they can do w/ minecraft looked really cool.

Love that elite controller.

Didn't see much of gears & tomb raider (doctors or on transit). Gears is, again, a wait & see type game for me. Will have to see more of Tomb Raider.

I got a feeling if MS can go longer, they will but it feels like whoever runs E3 is limited how much time each company has to do their conference, which is unfortunate.

Cool on what EA is doing for EA access and looking forward to the new Plants vs Zombies game.

Don't have a PS4 but if sony can show off their strong 1st party lineup like Uncharted, ratchet & clank, etc. They will beat MS. But if they hype their VR stuff too much, MS could win.

With the exception of the usual cod opening I do feel like Msofts conference always feels a bit deja vu. They only rely on a very small amount of their IP (Halo, Forza, Gears) and when they do have third parties on stage the content isn't often exclusive. I find it hilarious that every year they pay to put a very expensive car on stage for about two seconds.

I did really appreciate them giving Rare some prime time and their new game looks great. Recore also looked interesting.

I'm starting to feel quite insulted by gameplay that's essentially a string of QTEs though. They did more to turn me off Tomb Raider than anything. That shit was ok 6 years ago but not now.

I miss the diversity of the OG Xbox. Exclusive DOA, Project Gotham, Panzer Dragoon, Jet Set Radio.. Yeah this isn't the greatest lineup in Xbox history. Not for me anyway

Cuphead looks incredible. Is it X1 only or PC as well?

Also, yikes to the G4 demo. Going to be a great game, I'm sure...but the demo was insanely bad.

the hololens/minecraft demo was the conference's sole "holy shit" moment. if that can go through as advertised, it'll be cool as all fuck and sell a ton of visors.

otherwise, predictable stuff. cars, gears, halo

B+ Solid Conference, It was really 2015 focused. Which can be a good or bad thing depending on the person.

they showed like 2 games 2016+ right?

I'm reading your words and then looking at your score and there doesn't appear to be any correlation to me. Is a B the bottom of your scale or something?

Haha I just felt that the games they showed were mostly really cool. As far as games goes just Halo had a weak showing IMO. As I said I'm skeptical of Hololens but I'm skeptical of Morpheus too.

Look I'm a Sony guy, but I liked the presser. Maybe I should have have given then a B + instead of an A but considering the other stuff they got that they didn't show (the games that are going to be at Gamescon) MS has a great lineup.

MS is reacting this gen a lot quicker than Sony did on the last one. I think that is commendable.

I feel the conference was incredibly solid.
Especially considering that they didn't show Scalebound, Crackdown, Phantom Dust, or Quantum Break.

Can't wait for Sea of thieves, and Halo 5 will be huge!

Also, Backwards compatibility is awesome, and long overdue.

Yeah, it's weird that the major stand out announcements weren't game announcements but hardware. Didn't really see that coming.

How much is that elite controller?

Probably $70. Also, every AAA game show had already been announced prior to E3, including some from past E3's. I'm still pretty shocked they had no new, major AAA title.

Pretty good conference overall, lots of nice news...but lacked any real "wow" power. Nothing was shown or revealed that would convince me to run out and buy an Xbox One. Even the new IPs announced all look like rehashes of older stuff.

- The 360 backwards compatibility announcement was very nice.
- Rise of the Tomb Raider looked great (except the QTEs), especially the end of the demonstration where they showed the tombs. But it's a timed exclusive so I'll pick it up for PC in 2016. That Nov 10th date for X1 is bad though...they should seriously consider delaying it to say Nov 24th. Fallout 4 is going to be an absolute juggernaut.
- Gears 4 looked cool; seemed more Resident Evil-ish than the older Gears games.
- Very underwhelmed by Rare's pirate MMO.
- It'll be interesting to see how Xbox Game Preview (MS's version of Steam Early Access) is received by console gamers. I do expect Sony to follow suit with their own "early access" vision pretty soon. Both MS and Sony saw how well Early Access was doing for Steam/Valve, and they want a slice of that pie.
- Xbox One mods for Fallout 4 was a cool announcement, but don't expect more than UI, gameplay or quest mods. And it'll be curated too, obviously. The PC will remain the definitive platform for that game. Historically speaking, the best and most popular mods are graphics mods...and those ain't coming to console.
- Too many reveals were CG trailers, and none of the CG trailers were impressive.

Overall, I still get this "me too!!" vibe from Microsoft.

Speaking of Fallout 4, I was far more impressed with it (in yesterday's gameplay demos) than anything shown at the MS conference.

I liked Halo, that new IP they showed after it, Pirates, Tomb Raider, and Gears (kinda). Solid showing. Oh and if that hololens wasn't bullshit, then that was awesome.

B/10 for me.

I liked

Recore
Fallout mods
Rare collection
EA Access stuff
Backwards compatibility
Cuphead

Meh another
Halo
Gears
Forza

Skeptical about Minecraft demo

Overall, as a ps4 only owner, i see a few more compelling reasons to own a xbox one, but not enough to dive in right now.

They are moving in the right direction though. Was real nice to see some new first party IPs.

What does BC stand for that everyone is referring to?

They announced backwards compatibility with 360 games, where you insert the disk and it will download the game for you to play on the One. It will start supporting 100 games this holiday update with more being updated as long as publishers allow it.

Rare Collection is really awesome. I would go back to so many of their classic games. The EA Access deal with Microsoft is also a really nice package with lots of meaningful bonuses (if you didn't buy those games).

Gears and Tomb Raider demos were kinda meh. TR didn't show off the game very well other than showing really pretty ice tech, and Gears didn't have the wow factor. And it took place in the dark, making everything look muddy.

The Hololens was the biggest "wow" moment for me, but the impressions I've heard about it that talks about its shortcomings gives me mixed feelings about it.

XB1 has a really, really solid first party line up this year, and they presented everything with confidence with little fat. That said, I wasn't feeling most of the trailers or gameplay demos. I wasn't hyped by the demonstrations/trailers of Halo 5, Rise, Gears, or Forza at the level I was expecting. Even Dark Souls III's CG teaser was kinda disappointing. I'd give it a 75/100.

I thought MS had a decent show. I don't think it was the best line up of games ever but a good show nonetheless. One thing I hate is pointless CG trailers for games where they say nothing about it after.

MS didn't do anything spectacular but they made sure it was solid enough.

Oh and if Sony doesn't show up with backwards compatibility at least for PS1/2 games I'm going to be pissed.

Except sony does it all the time.

Sony paid Bungie to make it seem like it was exclusive. All of the Destiny commercials mention nothing about Xbox One or any other platform. It just ended with a Playstation logo. It's all about marketing. You pay for these things. I don't get why it would upset anyone. It's the way business has been handled in this industry for a while now.

prettty solid B is what i would give that conference...but there could be a half grade swing in either direction depending on how some things pan out...the later stages became a snooze fest but overall it was pretty solid...

Jesus fuck, that's it?! This had better not turn out like the BC BS the 360 was promised to have that never really worked out the way they promised.

I'm changing my conference grade from a 7.5/10 to a 6.5/10. How disappointing.

That's as of today. Fallout 3 and the Rainbow Six games will be in there as well. There is a reason that this feature is only available to Preview Members until the holiday.

Calm down people, Jesus.

I didn't think much of the conference, because I don't own an Xbox. But I think it was a decent conference on an objective level. The stuff that caught my attention was in the first 20 mins.

I think there's a lot to get exited about, but idk if the conference itself was great. For example, Gears 4 I'm sure will be a fantastic game and yet the demo they showed was pretty meh and apparently unwatchable for many. Again with Tomb Raider; probably going to be a good game, but an underwhelming demo. They didn't even show off Quantum Break -- which was my most hyped game.

I agree that the TR and Gears demos weren't earth shattering. I think, overall, they had some really good announcements and did a good job of showing more actual gameplay and little to no CGI. I'm really excited and that made it great for me.

4/10 conference for me.

Cuphead was intresting.
Hololens was excellent

Tomb raider reminded me so much of uncharted 2&3 , not in a great way.
the rest was meh. gears was way too dark i coudln't see sh*t.
Halo ..well didn't excite me. and the burst of indies reminded me way too much of sony last year..
fable legends doesn't look that great IMO, and that ( yet another moba game ) really look lifeless to me.
backward compatibility is ok , but since it has restrictions i see no reason to be excited by this.

Ps: no need to bring a car in your conference , just like there is no need to bring a dancing star ( remember dance central ? )
Would have been better with actual gameplay from forza than this.

Ps: there is a need when you have an agreement in place with Ford.

Started strong, but got bored after a while... B- A few games I'm interested in, but other then the Rare HD collection, recore and Forza 6, nothing else is day 1 at this time. New controller looks nice, will buy. The deals for VR are nice, but how about something where I don't need a PC to use for Xbox One games.

The BC thing, is that streaming? (no offline play - not that it matters to me). They said 100 games by end of year.. but that can always change, we'll see! Thinking to try my 360 for another Xbox One; seems like it's a good time to just get rid of it.

It was alright. This kind of BC does nothing for me as I already have a 360 and it's not full-BC but the controller was cool (though I suspect it'll cost 100+$ in Canada) so the conference started off pretty strong. Forza always interests me because I want local splitscreen multiplayer so that was good too (though the car and Ford and all that I didn't care for). Local multiplayer splitscreen is the reason I still play PGR. Dropped off for a bit but Cuphead and the Pirate game looked very cool. Rare collection is real nice too.

Didn't care much for what was shown of Tomb Raider, it'll show up on PS4 a few months later so it'll be around Uncharted 4 and I'll just go with the latter. Seemed more open-ended. Otherwise it was fine, I'd say a standard, 7/10 conference. Good stuff coming to the platform, nothing that will get me to drop a big amount after getting the two other home consoles but it adds to the library for when I get one down the line. I'm also eager to see more of Crackdown at Gamescom.

I was totally expecting a Banjo game going into this... why do I do this to myself. :P Inafune game, but CGI. They really should have had Scalebound here. I wasn't impressed.

Backwards comp was a holy shit moment till they announced only 100 games at launch. Still great but less impact.

I'm really curious how the mods are going to work. Do they get scaled down for the console? From what I've seen on PC, they are resource hogs and some PCs struggle to run them and the game. I'm genuinely curious as I'd this becomes a thing and is exclusive I might actually buy an Xbox.

Except sony does it all the time.

Yeah, and look how they are now...

Joke aside: Problem is that I lost any faith in exclusivity announcements until it is first party. Started with mass effect, limbo and bioshock, but it is getting more and more ridiculous. Tomb raider is by far the most cringe worthy try to date.
And so I would not be too surprised if we even see Cuphead on other consoles, let's say, 6 months after Xbox release.

BC is not streaming. Digital games are downloaded and if you insert a disc it will download the game to your console.

Also, I don't understand why some are annoyed that they didn't announced a bunch of new games. Most of the games they showed last E3 still haven't released yet. Most of their studios are finishing up games that we've known about for a while.

It's not like Sony where most of their studios released games back in 2013/14 and we don't know what many are working on (outside of some unconfirmed rumors and leaks).
