Metal Gear Solid V E3 2015 Trailer

Can I ask a random question? It concerns the end of MGS4
Who's grave was Snake saluting to? If it's Big Boss, why?

He was saluting Big Boss' grave. Because despite everything that went between them, he respected Big Boss as a soldier. He consider him a traitor, but still respected him.

So let's take bets on whether Skullface is actually real or not, are we just in a coma the whole time battling psychological horror?

Kinda wish that we hadn't seen this trailer, but my inner MGS fan needed satiating. Actually learning in the game that skull face may be a figment of big bosses imagination/phantom of his psyche would have been a lot more nicer to experience from just playing the game.

That makes sense, eh. That he is more of a Tyler Durden and non-existent.

But would that work in the initial trailer where he talks to Chico in the cage and rides in the helicopter?

Hey so I own MGS4 but never played through it. I've never played a MGS but every time I see or hear anything about MGS I just want to read about it for hours. Also these trailers are fucking fantastic and excellent music choice.

I'm sure the actual gameplay is good but is it possible to just watch only cutscenes and get the story or should I actually play the games.

This thread and hte /v/ threads are hilarious, everyone is losing their minds. Also look for the lyrics of "For the Man Who sold the world"...

You can watch the cutscenes of MGS1, 2 and 3, 4 and Peace Walker and know enough yes.

So, all this 'V has come to' stuff, that's been there since the first trailer, do you think this refers simply to the game, or perhaps a 5th 'Snake'? I mean there's Naked/Big Boss, Solidus, Liquid, Solid. Is it possibly a hint of a 4th clone, or just referring to Big Boss changing to Venom Snake?

I'm really just curious as to other peoples thoughts/theories on this, whatever it might mean.

My bet is on real, otherwise everything we saw in Ground Zeroes completely unravels, he's also been acknowledged by characters other than Snake.

Play them would be better. But You can always watch cutscenes of all of them and get the story. Though MGS2 may not reach you in its full potential if you don't play it.

Pretty boring trailer. Voice acting was ridiculously bad, went on way to long and didnt have that "wow" factor that all other MGS trailers have had.

This was no MGS2 trailer :(

Who is that terrible voice actor in the trailer? Every time his voice came on it was cringe worthy.

The games are very good. I suggest playing them.

That explanation misuses the same genetic terms as MGS1 does.

He was blonde in MGS1 and he's blonde here.

So he dyed his hair in MG 1 and 2, and MGS2 and used the octocamo to use a dyed version of his hair in MGS4?

I think it's more likely that Kojima is retconning this, rather than Solid being blonde all along. He never mentions he dyes it either.

I don't understand the role of Skullface in this game, whether good or bad (I know there isn't any real bad protagonist in MGS series except maybe for Volgin) and I don't know if we will get confirmation that he is the burnt Galvez or not.

That mechanical thing behind Snake doesn't look like the REX wannabe that we've already seen.

It looks bulkier. Perhaps a prototype for TX-55?

You should play the games.

You should play the games. The impact is so much greater when you're actually with Snake all the way.

MGS4 takes place about 30 years after this one, so it's not too bad. Have you played the other games in the series?

in the middle of replaying now.
Was way to long ago and you can say I missed out on all last gen, I honestly can't remember much of IV :( ANd played the Peace Walker demo to death so I didn't feel it when it was time for a proper release.

Btw, the Vita version good enough or are they as bad as many say? Please no big screen bias.

They're clones, Solid Snake's hair is brown because he cut it and dyed it in MGS1 (or, according to seeing metal gear 1 and metal gear 2: solid snake, he died his hair before that)

So basically, they're all blonde and I can assume Big Boss looked like that when he was young too.
Kojima's Konami office

What the crap are you talking about. Every time someone breathes out at the end of a sentence people start saying it's Hayter.

Sure Hayter. That's exactly what you'd say if you were keeping this on the low with Mr.Kojima.

This is E3. Let us believe falsehoods

Also-

Whenever Skullface is in the screen, atleast with Snake, there's a flare effect. Look at the end part where Big Boss turns around, a flare effect shows up while skullface is there, and immediately goes away when he's not

There are lens flairs in almost every shot in that trailer.

And it ends with BB waking up and talking to the grave at the end of MGS4?

I would be pissed if it was all a dream, I feel like that is a cheap way of finishing a story in any medium.

skullface is real at the start of the game (and in Ground Zeroes), Big Boss killed him early on and he start appearing as ghost/phantom haunting Big Boss

that's my theory

MGS4 is mostly cutscenes anyway. Great gameplay all around though.
