All I have ever wanted is a 1080p redo of the original game. Same exact game with redone pre-rendered backgrounds and character models. Turning it into some other game with real time battles and full 3D is a waste of time. Just make VII-2.

They always said they wanted the compilation to last until VII's 20th anniversary. I wonder what kind of retcons it will have to tie it into the other games better. I hope Genesis is in the game.

We knew about Level-5 making a PS4 game since early-to-mid 2014.

Its weird. Even though this would theoretically be a big deal I don't see myself getting too excited about it. I don't think FFVII is in desperate need for a remake in the current way that Square is cultivating the Final Fantasy series. Lest of all after they've yet to redeem themselves after Lightning. That'd be a lot of work to redo a classic.

If this is from another studio that makes me even more skeptical about how "big" this will be.

You shut your filthy mouth. Genesis needs to stay far far away from FF7 proper and so does that awful trio from Advent Children.

Uh... FF7 in all of it's releases just barely topped 10 million sales, after what? 20 years? You should lower your sales expectations. Think RE:Make in both quality of remake/sales.

Crazy how far CG has come. When Advent Children first came out, I thought it looked SO REAL. Well, said the same thing about FF: The Spirits Within at the time, too Now? Not so much. PS4 graphic upgrade would look amazing for it though.

If Sony reveals a real Final Fantasy VII remake tonight for the PS4, and not that "classic FFVII" troll release from last year, people will lose it. That might just happen, according to multiple sources.

This morning Siliconera leaked that the project was happening, and this afternoon, GamesBeat has stated that it will be announced later today -- I am hearing that it will be developed by CyberConnect2. Allegedly, this project will feature Cloud's newer look from Advent Children, and will celebrate the 20th anniversary of Final Fantasy VII.
