Well the best part of the last game was the context free floating platform speedrun DLC, so the natural extension is an open world. I'm not all that surprised though, and it could end up being a lot of fun if the city is well put together and the freerunning controls well enough to make up your own paths. I am mostly worried that they're just going to dumb it way down and make it like a first person Assassin's Creed in the parkour controls.
