I really wanted to slap Brad there for a second with his dismissive attitude about the Final Fantasy 7 remake, lol. "It's a game you've already played before", oh god.

They're not wrong that PS4's 2015 lineup wasn't solved by anything tonight, but that was still one of the best E3 conferences I've ever seen.

Is it just me, or are they pretty much shitting on an amazing conference?

It's amazing for you as a fan, it's not amazing for Sony at all, it just LOOKS amazing

Your big 2 nuts, FF7 and Shenmue 3 aren't exclusive, and one isn't even a game yet it's a kickstarter for a 2017 game

I think these guys forget asking people to spend 700-1000$ as apposed to 550$ (psn sub/game) is a big ask. 3rd party is all sony needs tbh, it has worked all gen so far and will continue to work imo.

they're making a lot of great points.

I'm excited about a lot of stuff, but they are fucking right. this year is dry.

Yeah, alot of the big stuff shown there is also on PC. And as for first party games, they aren't coming this year.

I think they are half right about Sony first party but I'm not actually sure how much it matters.

They were extremely smart to attach themselves to FF7 remake and Shenmue 3.

Sony throwing down the gauntlet. How long before this year's conference is topped? Out of control.

I dunno, I'm not feeling the hype that much. As far as exclusives go (which I watch the conferences for, game-wise), there's not that many. Stuff like No Man's Sky, FF7, Shenmue, Batman, CoD, etc. are all multiplatform games. I was hoping to see some more first party exclusives, maybe something about Bloodborne expansion or such. Show me some Ratchet, I love Ratchet!

Somehow GB finds a way to put that negative spin on the sony conference. Not at all surprised.

Giant Bomb has to be the most cynical people in gaming media.

Their pessimism and reasoning is so far off base. That one blonde dude is so transparent.

To even downplay Horizon and FF7? Kick rocks "gamer".

If you guys want to see a bunch of guys circlejerking pornhub has you covered.

The GB crew's points are all valid and they have every reason to be cynical in this case, not sure why they should force themselves to be super hype about stuff when they're not.

They're annoyed by a lack of first party support in 2015.

Didn't watch the MS one, but did they complain at all about the same Halo, Gears, Forza, Fable?

Stopped listening to them because of this. Just super annoying to listen to and now that Patrick I can't really stomach it. Love Gertsman and Vinny and still listen to their E3 stuff.

i was amazed in terms of a show and the types of things sony was able to get up on that stage, but I can't say I'm really exited to play any of those games really.

at least not on playstation

By the way, not going pretend to be jaded and edgy by shitting on the big 2 nuts... because fuck yeah FF7 remake and Shenmue 3

On my PC :p

I'm only down on it because there wasn't Morpheus stuff. Would have like something substantial mentioned there. Guess we have to wait for the show floor impressions.

They are totally making fair points.

I think some people here are so mired by nostalgia that they are ignoring some important problems with Sony's conference or their schedule for the rest of 2015.

They aren't wrong about the 2015 cupboards being bare, the PS4 is propped up by 3rd party support the rest of the way.

But we are halfway through 2015, it's not like it's another 12 months until anything is coming, 2016 is looking rosy.

I love you Giantbomb, but this cynicism is too much. It's fine if they don't get as hyped as everyone else does, but damn, this is going a little overboard I think.

I think Sony knocked it out of the park here, but I also agree with much of what the GB guys are saying.

Yeah I think Totillo got it right on the YouTube show. Great conference, very exciting announcements, but overall they did not flesh out their lineup for the rest of the year. and the three "never gonna happen" announcements are either far off but don't give guarantees they'll actually be good.

If you think what they're saying is cynical then Giant Bomb probably isn't for you. This is how normal adults who've played games all their lives act about games. We've seen it all before so it's not suprising they're dissapointed.

You guys also have to keep in mind how many E3s these guys have been through and how they realize that everything on stage at an E3 conference pans out to be good. People flipped a shit over The Order the first time it was shown at E3 too.

People are just riding the hype right now.

Yeah, that's GB in a nutshell. No interesting games to play. You know. Except Last Guardian next year.
