How did they make history exactly?

It was a good conference, but nothing as mind blowing as people are putting. It's just a sneak peak of the 2016 conference.

Like others have said this is all relative to your tastes. For some of us Shenmue III and FFVII RE are dreams we never thought would come true.

Regardless though, history was made tonight, very cool stuff.

That's the way to do a conference, with surprises and game after game. The only problem with the pacing was the ending. Should have put FFVIIR there or something. Ending it with UC4 felt a bit dull after otherwise well done show.

Personally as a gamer though, there wasn't many games I got too hyped about. Maybe my gaming tastes are so different nowadays than when I was younger. I wanted more RPGs and the one announcement I was waiting for (Horizon) was disappointing. I was expecting it to be more RPG-y and not as actiony. TLG also looked... not epic? Like something I would 50/50 consider buying for 15€ as a PSN title.

Never been a Shenmue fan but I might kickstart it.

Best moment of the show for me was FFVIIR by far. Hell it was the best moment of E3.

Sony: 8/10
MS: 6/10

Nostalgia and expectations are weird like that.

Horizon was the strongest thing they showed, though, yah.

Nostalgia for a game that was never released and none of the people excited about it ever played, we're through the looking glass here people, post-modern hyper-real nostalgia all over the place, that shit would give Baudrillard a hard-on

The Last Guardian fell so flat to me. The demo was nothing. Void of any meat and was basically a "hey I'm still alive" rather than showing off an interesting game.

FF7 Remake was crazy and awesome but is probably really far off. How is Square juggling this, FFXV, FFXIV, and KH3?

Is Sony funding Shenmue as well as doing a Kickstarter? If not that's pretty cheap that they took no risk on Shenmue but get to reap all the reward by announcing it on their stage.

They wasted time on fucking Destiny.

No Metal Gear, DMC5, Persona 5, or anythting else this year. Street Fighter got weirdly shafted. Horizon looked cool though.

It was good overall, but all the hyperbole is pretty annoying.

Sony conference this year was way better than the last two sony E3 conference.I thought it was solid(B),but a bit too predictable. .

I seriously don't know what to say to some of this negativity/downplaying. That was predictable? really?

I've scoured these pages looking for that gif with the joyfully happy lady and the guy hitting her in the head and I don't see it. I'm dissapointed. It should be modified for this conference.

That was the best conference I've ever seen.

Possibly the best conference ever. There were four games people repeatedly asked for over the last decade that seemed impossible to ever materialize, and now only Half Life 3 remains after tonight.

Also, how the hell are some people complaining about the lack of console exclusives!? We got insane multi-plat announcements, amazing trailers of games we know are on the way, and incredible new IP announcements with mind blowing gameplay trailers instead of CG teasers (Horizon was unveiled perfectly, unlike Microsoft's Recore). There's no pleasing some people:

Dang landslide? Thats crazy talk maaaaannnn! Tell me what happened. Tell me the exclusive things that make it a landslide. I need to be enlightened.

Ff7 remake is multi
Shenmue is multi

The last guardian still running on its ps3 engine. Cool puzzle though. Finally, many ppls wishes came true.

Uncharted looked fun and amazing as expected. Naughty dog is superb.

No mans sky is continuing to amaze me. That level of exploration. They Literally made a never ending digital world ...from what ive seen. However its multi too.

Right now the only reason for me to buy a ps4 in 2015 is unchar... Wait thats 2016 too.. Fuck =/

I need to know what exclusives for the ps4 are in 2015 holiday. I needs my xmas list updated!

Im being serious ans sincere. It may seem it at first but i really need this info. Like my eyes were set on getting one this year.. Now idk. Should i wait till uncharted 4 then??
FF7/Shenmue is as much as an "exclusive" as Tomb Raider is. Keep moving the goalposts.

I think tonight really shows the power of a vocal fanbase. These games are coming out because people have been asking for them. Personally I was not hyped for those three games all that much, but it was so exciting to see people's reactions. I got caught up in the moment for sure.

I guess I will go out and say now that I wasn't impressed by The Last Guardian. Looked like a PS3 game and not even a particularly pretty one at that.

MS 6/10
Sony 8/10

Both conferences had 1 big indie game for me then dropped the ball. We got Cuphead and Firewatch, but no Inside, Rime, Witness ect... makes me sad. Where are all of the new big indies??!?!?!?!

They just had too many games and announcements. It's a good problem to have. They'll come in time.

I mean, It's not like we don't have enough to play. With Fallout 4, Rock Band, Battlefront, etc, there is plenty to play this year. But It's pretty dissapointing to see their biggest games announced (TLG and Horizon) one with a release date of 2016 and the other one not even a window of release for it.

I was excited for TLG 5 years algo. They can't be serious if they expect me to be excited about a game that should have come out for PS3.

Oh, and thank you for spoiling me Arkham Knight, a game that's coming out in 7 fucking days.

I only have a PS4 and don't plan to own an Xbox One for the foreseable future. What is the point of your post again?

The point is that Sony releases games all year round from their first party and MS didn't, so they have games for the last 6 months. Do you only play first party exclusives? Most people don't and the holiday season has a bunch of this party games to fill the void.

They are saying on Geoffs show that the Uncharted demo on the show floor blows the press conference demo out of the water....

I doubt that. Why would you not show that off to the public? (we'll no doubt get video cam footage tho, which I doubt is how they want it showed off)

I was really underwhelmed. SFV was barely in the conference, and Bloodborne DLC didn't show up. Outside of that, the guy who showcased Blops3 was insufferable.

A good excuse to get excited about video games. I'll take it. Today's show was beyond fantastic.

You guys shouldn't be so negative towards the show. They are clearly listening to GAF, now you don't want them listening? :P

I don't get some people... "WE WANT TLG!" / "I hope it hasn't changed too much in all these years" / "What if someone is changing Ueda's vision"

Now that TLG has been reintroduced, gameplay and all, people complain it's still the same game as before?! That's what we've been asking for! It wouldn't be TLG if it was anything else. It would merely be a shadow of a former game.

I think MS had a good conference, their strongest showing in years probably, but Sony's definitely topped it. TLG + FFVII remake + Shenume III is a legendary combo, and the Uncharted 4 and Horizon demos were just icing on the cake. The PS Viu (sp?) thing was kind of interesting too and probably the first time I've ever been interested in a non-gaming service they've promoted here :lol

The Last Guardian fell so flat to me. The demo was nothing. Void of any meat and was basically a "hey I'm still alive" rather than showing off an interesting game.

No Metal Gear, DMC5, Persona 5, or anythting else this year. Street Fighter got weirdly shafted. Horizon looked cool though.

A question I have as well that the kickstarter page isn't answering. But I guess I'm still spoiled by the bloodstained page.

Also recent news made it pretty apparent that there would be no P5 showing, so I wasn't too surprised.

I didn't feel like this for a long time. THIS, NOW, it's the best time to be a gamer. Didn't get any sleep tonight and at this point I'm so shocked and excited that I don't even have to. Thank you Sony, just...thank you.

Hahahahahaha some of you guys are still complaining that the conf didn't deliver lol . Either you are too salty or video games dont excite you. GAF never changes

Not sure why you expected Destiny to be gone when they have a partnership with Activision for it. Besides, there is still the Paris Games show, Tokyo Games Show, and perhaps PlayStation Experience to look forward to.

Amazing conference. Due to the leaks I wasn't jumping out of my seat when I saw The Last Guardian first thing after turning on the PC. Then they teased around FF7R but deep down I knew it was coming, especially after that little troll World of FF. But when they actually announced Shenmue 3 and completed the fucking trinity, my headphones flew over my head and I actually jumped! This was an insane conference! I honestly thought nothing like this would ever come to pass, and yet it did.

Highlights for me personally, as in "I fucking want to play this so bad it hurts":
- The Last Guardian (ICO and SotC are the epitomes of gaming, I'll love this one to death too, no matter how unchanged the graphics might look. This is about heart, not eyes)
- Horizon (bloody fucking hell, what a dream of a game! Finally a post-apocalyptic game that isn't all nuclear war shit)
- No Man's Sky (I love exploration, the art style is beautiful, the game is immense)
- Firewatch (I am intrigued and would like to submit to your newsletter, hard!)
