Hoping Baisha village isn't the only town in Shenmue 3.
Think I'm gonna hold off and wait for more details.
Just checked the team page on the KS site. Yu managed to get his old team together again
The game is gonna be a fucking bless jesus christ
Really? Bragging about a KS campaign on your conference? It's a mere 2 million, why can't they give the man the money?
All hope is lost. I'd fund it if I had the money. I can't comprehend Sony not funding this. Speechless.
Just for those wondering about the 'budget':

Yeah, I think it's going to hit its goal in one day.
I wonder how much it'll generate in a month.
Apparently.

It's fine I thought. I played both. The xbox version does have the shitty, if somewhat charming, English voice acting. And I think things look brighter at night on the xbox version for some reason. I remember that being kind of odd. But I think that's really it for the negatives. Load times are greatly reduced, it runs a bit smoother, and there's less pop in. Haven't played either version in years though, and I'm not sure how it runs on a 360, but I remember it being more than fine on the original Xbox.
Voice acting.
It was a really good port outside of that, running much smoother than Shenmue 2 on Dreamcast (which had pretty bad framedrops at times).
I did prefer the colour palette on Dreamcast to the bloomy Xbox version.
I'll be playing the PC version
This is the best reaction of all-time.

Even the guys at Sony who want this to happen have to answer to numbers guys.
People act like Sony's a charity.
Honestly without a remaster or remake of the first two games I don't really care about it
Nope it doesn't, I really don't get anyone saying this. It's to provide proof that there is interest.Sony wants you to crowdfund a console-exclusive title. God this feels slimy.

So how long has the kickstarter been live for?
Will the PC version release the same time as the PS4? Or will it be a timed exclusive at first?

In for a PS4 digital copy. Would have backed higher but none of the mid tier rewards interest me.
Got my pledge in, will actually be my first Shenmue. However a game this beloved, to elicit this type of reaction, has to be special.
Glad to join the rest of you![]()
I woke up at 2:58am by myself and thought "fuck it, let's watch the Sony conference" (starting at 3am here).
Best decision ever.
Backed for $300, might decide to go lower, not 100% sure yet...
HYPE!!!
And that triggered funding source is most likely Sony.

I'm not fond of remasters but a Shenmue 1+2 HD is seriously needed now. Sega, please, you can do that at least.
You know what's so beautiful about that Huber reaction, you rarely see that kind of emotion and excitement from other people in the industry. People like Huber and Bosman are just refreshing.
What a wonderful evening.
I wonder what Yu Suzuki must be feeling right now
I'm most definitely backing this but can't understand why a game that is being funded by the public is console exclusive. That seems wrong to me. It doesn't take a genius to figure out that Yu Suzuki doesn't need Sony's money to get this game made or published.
