People expecting just a simple updated version of FF7 are gonna be disappointed in my opinion. There's a reason the PC port is still being made and hasn't been cancelled. It's a way for players to experience the original game with a few enhancements and also a way of gaining a larger modern audience. I'm expecting this remake to be a complete overhaul of everything that is FF7 from art design to gameplay to even the story.

Advent Children has the same atmosphere. You can tell Nomura really wants to a game like that and KH can't really be any darker than it only occasionally is now.

Hmm, was this a project that Nomura would have really liked to do or did they maybe push him towards it? I guess I'm partially curious as to how long they may have been kicking this idea around.

The more I think on it, the more I hope it retains the ATB system to some degree but perhaps have it enhanced or changed while keeping to the spirit of it all.

Hmmmm... I just remembered something.

If I am not mistaken, Squaresoft had signed exclusive console rights of FF7 to Sony, and in turn Squaresoft had sold PC rights to Eidos at the time*

So, if the above still holds true, PS4 and PC releases are all that will come of this - Xbox platform will not get it.

*My memory could fail me, Kagari please correct me if so.

Ita technically multi-Platform. Until Nomura says multi-console, then it'll be also on Xbox One. The wording by the Sony rep, "first release" or similar feels like its timed exclusivity though. Sony are known for boasting the word "exclusive"

In Sony PR speak, "console exclusive" means "There's probably a PC release, too, but no Xbox release"

I wonder how they are going to handle the battle system. ATB feels kind of outdated, and I think would contrast pretty awkwardly with how nice the game looks. I guess with Nomura directing the game it might be changed to a KH style battle system. I wonder how much backlash they will get for that.
