I am not 100% sure they are fronting money or they have some deal with Sony but the pictures and presentation makes it look like they are in bed with Sony which means no matter how many x1 or wiiu fans ask there will never be a stretch goal. I backed the game while Kickstarter was choking. And now SEGA should do the right thing and announce a remaster for Shenmue 1 + 2. It's a win-win situation, especially with how well-received the Kickstarter has become thus far.

If SEGA was happy enough to give Yu the IP I doubt they would have any issue with Sonic and Phantasy Star capsules in this game. Free marketing and all that, besides he's still a highly regarded figure at SEGA and still holds a management position.

My only worry is having some of the arcade games playable haha.

My only worry is Ys Net only development experience is Shenmue City and some mobile pirate game. Hopefully that'll change and I can be more confident in the future, I have upmost faith on Suzuki.

If Yu Suzuki would have never gotten the chance to finish this, Shenmue's failure would have been his legacy. No matter how much Sega fans like me would have remembered how outstanding his career was, he would have forever been known for not finishing his greatest work.

I am so happy that Yu Suzuki gets to rewrite his legacy.

I don't think I've ever been so emotionally excited about a video game ever in my life. I was a sega kid from day one. We got the Sega Master System instead of the NES and never looked back. I grew up playing Yu Suzuki's games. Not occasionally in the arcades, but every day, at home.

For years, I'd watch people lose their shit over stuff like Twilight Princess or whatever, and I'd feel little to nothing.

Today is my day. I cannot believe Shenmue 3 is finally happening. This has to be the happiest moment in any Sega fan's last 10 years. It's finally back.

That's what I'm hoping for. It's pretty tough for folks new to the series to catch up since you need to play a DC and original Xbox game.

Nope. Which I'd be interested in. Since I won't play the this game if I haven't played the first two.

I do think though that if the kickstarter is successful(which it is looking increasingly like it will be) then a HD collection for the first 2 would be a logical thing to do.
