Didn't Kagari say FF13 was exclusive back in the day?

So was XV (or Versus 13.)

They changed their mind, but I think they will stick with the PS4 exclusiveness just because of FF7 exclusiveness to Sony during the console era, and for nostalgia sake.

I'm sure the game will come out to PC, but Xbox One... I'm not sure. Odds are that they will withhold that information for a long time, and by then check to see if there is still a large interest in the game on Xbox One.

FFXV will probably be the biggest calling card for whether or not the Final Fantasy series will see success of Xbox systems and whether or not Square will continue or not.

I'd like to remind everyone shitting on this conference that we had a freaking joke poll asking which of the games we'd like to see -- and we got ALL OF THEM.

So much truth in this statement that it somehow used Cure on me.

If only they had Ueda-san in that photo as well.

The limited BC that only works for less than a hundred games? Really?

The limited bc that only requires permission and will have hundreds of games by autumn, put it this way, if people are flipping out over ff7 how amazing will it be to play hundreds of last gens games on this gens consoles?

I'm in the market for a ps4 now, is it possible Sony will announce anymore bundles in the coming days? Seems weird that it's still only batman/last of us and now disney infinity. I was really expecting a EA AAA TITLE bundle (battlefront) and sports bundle(fifa/madden) like usual.

Man I just skimmed over the Giant Bomb coverage for this thing and those dudes are downers. Reaction to Horizon was nice but the reaction to the big 3 was pretty cynical overall. Really love their content normally but the antihype was a bummer.

All criticisms of first party/exclusive/new content aside, Sony's really shot themselves in the foot in terms of generating such sheer hype after this conference. There's really nothing they can do that can top this, not until something builds up the same mythical status as these games. The only thing that immediately comes to mind that could compare would be to get Gabe up on their stage again to announce HL3.

FF7 likely involved Sony's backing just like SFV as someone implied. And you really think Shenmue 3 costs 2mil to make?

In all SCE games, Verendus never listed SE. The only 2 publishers which Sony collaborated with are Capcom and Sega. Capcom was SFV, Sega we don't know yet.

Shenmue isn't published by Sony simply because they won't kickstart it and they'll fund it directly if they were the publisher.

A UGC game where you can create almost anything isn't notable?! One of the most mythical, awaited games which we haven't seen at all in six years doesn't count? Sure thing pal.

Not my definition, it's verendus'. A notable game means a lot of people will talk about it. There is hardly any buzz around it now.

Before the leaks and rumors about FFVII coming out, weren't we all expecting a rather lackluster E3 from Sony this year? I remember a month or so back (maybe more?) when Uncharted was delayed that there was a lot of talk about Sony not being able to show up with anything interesting.

Then I wake up from my pre-work nap and find TLG, FFVII:R, and...fucking Shenmue 3 were announced while I was sleeping?!?

What the actual fuck?

I'm pretty disappointed by the lack of VR coverage. Overall though, this conference is pretty damn legendary.

I thinks its cause using VR doesn't work well for a stage presentation. Neither the audience watching there or at home can really experience it. Its something that needs to build hype through hands on articles and especially kiosks and demo units.

I thought kickstarter goal was just to gauge interest. Like bloodstained. If it reaches its goal itll get funded i think thats what this tweet means.

I'm fine with this *only* if the Kickstarter page makes it very clear this is the situation. One of the biggest appeals for past Kickstarter projects was the ability for these teams to work independently.

That, and it's still a year or so away. There'll be plenty of time to build more excitement later.

Oh... oh yeah!!!... YEAH!!!... announcement of the year right there!!!, just imagine that!!!.

The FFVII Remake reveal was glorious, don't get me wrong. But I wasn't particularly impressed by Sony's own output or anything. Then again, a few of the titles others enjoy like Uncharted do little for me. And The Last Guardian looked kinda dated and boring despite it being some huge thing for many.

So yea, just my opinion. Was a good show, but didn't feel overly special.

It doesn't matter if it the game is by Sony or not, and I do not know how you cannot think the conference wasn't overly special even by people who prefer Xbox games to Sony. I think it was clear this conference was a special moment in gaming history, especially for this generation, as more and more AAA games have decreased and shifted to mobile. I think its impact is going to be felt and remembered for years to come and has set the tone for the remainder of the generation. Sony delivered shocking announcements after shocking announcements - The Last Guardian, Shenmue III, which is probably going to be the most funded game by the public ever, FFVII, a remake of arguably the best well known RPG of all time by the everyday person, DLNA release that is flexible to Street Fighter, the most recognizable fighting game in the world, to snatching Call of Duty away, the biggest console franchise ever. This conference was truly remarkable and special - a notable moment not only in console gaming but a celebration of console and a boost to its longevity. People cried. Long live consoles.

oh i agree with you i honestly feel like ms had the better lineup last year, this year, and next year. Sony in my opinion dropped the ball on their first party, exclusives not being exclusives, and big exclusives coming to their consoles on a timely manner. If we actually look at what Microsofts first party has released since its come out and what should be released before next e3 its pretty amazing .But it seems like it doesn't actually matter its all hype and fanboy nostalgia. The three biggest games right now destiny, star wars, and battlefield are all being marketed by Sony this holiday and the biggest game Microsoft has is Halo and possibly fall out, i honestly think it will be a bloodbath this holiday with Microsoft deals and Sony marketing.

Bloodborne says hi.

But okay, it is true it has been slow on the exclusives front. But i don't really think xbox ones line up is all that better. They are again falling back on the halo/gears/forza/fable quartet. There are maybe more exclusives this year, but nothing really standing out too. Don't get me wrong, i'll play halo 5 and tomb raider is day one, but can't shake the feeling it is so.... Safe?

With all the third party triple a's coming out i don't even mind that sony has been releasing it's big guns in spring. I'll have my hands full with mgsv, fallout 4, battlefront and others this holiday season anyway.

And no way xbox ones line up of 2016 can top last guardian, street fighter v, horizon, uncharted 4, ratchet, etc. Quantum break will be awesome, as will crackdown, but sony's 2016 seems packed to the brim.

HOLY MOTHER OF GOD.

Yeah, 2/3 of the gigatons are far, faaar away, and Sony didn't announce any first party title for the Holidays (right?), and there's stuff with an unspecified 2016 release date, but HOLY MOTHER OF GOD WHAT HAPPENED.

9.5/10, probably it won't be topped for a long time :lol

They were forced to go big or go home after numerous delays and numerous flops and disappointments (the order, knack, drive club, etc)

MS had an absolutely stellar conference that couldn't be matched, I thought.

Then Sony stepped up and produced our hearts' deepest desires, like a genie. Like is this real life???

What the heck is Nintendo going to do? Ship games in solid gold cases?

This E3 is f'n nuts! :D

I needed time to process what I witnessed. It was like watching some fanfic come to life.

Sony straight up murdered the conference scene with a trifecta of great white whales AND they had amazing demos of Uncharted 4 and Horizon. I don't care whether you have any personal interest in the games announced, you have to respect the fact that Sony made millions of gamers VERY happy today, and that's what these things are all about.

I just got the chance to watch the conferences.

I was cheering for MS when they announced backward compatibility and then game after game. I didn't think it would be topped.

Then I finished the Sony conference. I'm in tears guys. Literally. Decades of game love, across all the platforms, and Sony megaton'd me in the face with what I thought was impossible. Then again. Then again.

FF7 is my GOAT. Shenmue was a dream from another life. And TLG... My jaded heart had stopped hoping entirely.

Is this real? Did today happen? I have to go watch it again...

Preach it, brother! FFVII and TLOU are both my GOAT. I'm still awake... can't believe it and can't sleep.

I still can't believe this actually happened, The Last Guardian finally resurfaces and if that wasn't enough FF7 Remake?! I, like so many others have been wanting this for years and it's finally happening.

The same goes for Shenmue 3, all of this at one press conference was almost to much to handle. As far as conferences go Sony had the best by far 10/10.

It still feels unreal, I was barely awake and only got to sleep 2 hours tonight, but I don't regret it. Imo that was the best E3 conf ever. Didn't think Sony could have enough to show to beat the MS conf as it was really, I think... but then... well... wow.

I would say c+ but people are flipping out over what looks a fairly standard conference. I personally think BC was the biggest announcement so far this year. Imo of course.

bahahahaha. I hope you're joking.

Your biggest announcement is BC, so you can play your old games on your XB1?

I didn't buy a new gen console so I can play last gen games. Having BC is a good thing and a bonus, but not great IMO.

But of course, you're entitled to your own opinion :)

Before the leaks and rumors about FFVII coming out, weren't we all expecting a rather lackluster E3 from Sony this year?

People were speculating a weak E3 from Sony because of House's "sparse first-party line in 2015" statement.

Which imo, was a pretty stupid conclusion to make, because Sony's E3 conferences have always mostly been about their following year, not their current year.

Another thing that some folk (like thuway) like to say a lot is regarding "Sony's silence." For some people, this gives the impression Sony doesn't have a lot of things to boast about.

I'm kind of sad that I missed GAF's reaction but seeing this on a big screen was just...awesome. I still don't believe it was real and I honestly thought Square was trolling us really hard before that FFVII remake announcement.

I know, but supposedly this is the game verendus was talking about it, then SCE is funding the game from at least 4 months ago. That wouldn't make sense now that the game is being kickstarted, what was being funded in the first place?

Simple: The funding from SCE is conditional on an agreed upon crowdfunding amount to prove sufficient interest

Here is how I see it:

Sony presented two 1st party games which are naturally on my purchase list: Horizon and Uncharted 4. Those two are must-haves and might be able to move some consoles on the market. I am not the type who plays Dreams, nor TLG, nor Shenmue (would wait for 1-2 Remaster) nor NMS.

So far Sony managed to get an 8/10. But FF VII? I waited 10 years for that remake. Just few here can understand the feelings some digital natives like me have towards this game. Sony could have shown a 1 hour clip of dancing Statham and still won E3. FF VII R - That's an instant kill / 10/10.

So, Sony delivered 3 must have titles and I'd buy a PS4 for every single one of them. And I guess I am not the only one who realises that these must have games are coming. Maybe you preferr TLG, maybe Shenmue, the point ist, there is system seller coming for almost everyone.

And yes, this explains everything:

Guys I'm not trying to shit on Sony's conference, I'm just genuinely asking where are the 3 notable game reveals that verendus talked about.

As an owner of both PS4 and Xbox One, I am an happy camper. MS will serve me my delights end of 2015, whilst Sony made my start of the year (with Bloodborne mainly) and the start of 2016. Quite balanced :D

Just woke up and saw the entire show. A fucking rollercoaster of feels. TLG, FF7 remake, Horizon, Dreams, Hitman, Shenmue 3 etcetc Am I still sleeping? Am I dreaming??

The big 3 announcements were nice and all, but what is Sonys lineup for this fall/holiday? Uncharted HD collection? That's it?

Sep : Tearaway Unfolded
Oct : Uncharted Collection, Dragon Quest Heroes, Tales of Zesteria
Nov : N/A

Undated 2015 : Rime, Shadow of the Beast, Alienation, No Man's Sky, Persona 5, Disgaea 5, EDF 4.1
