there's always been a tiny niche audience thirsty as shit for this game. Easier to make with the fans paying for it.
Whatever shit sonic game Sega makes next will easily outsell this though.

A lot of people went for the higher tiers. I've never seen people take to those so quickly before. Usually almost everyone just jumps on the lowest tier that gets you a copy of the game.

I don't typically have dreams that involve me refreshing GAF for 9 hours straight. So I think it's real life.
It's KickTraq. But the trend will go down a ton after the first couple of days. Their "Projections" tab is a little more accurate, but it doesn't start updating until a couple of days after the Kickstarter starts.

But yeah, if you have to kick-start your, there seems to be no market for it.

Man, reading those project members bios is kind of depressing.
What the Japanese game industry has become.
Hopefully this will help to convince some of them that other paths are available these days. Their indie community is mostly foreign at the moment but something like this could provide inspiration for more of them to jump off the kaishain bandwagon and try something different.

The physical copy goal for PS4 is one I'm sympathetic to, but don't see happening.
Here's hoping the money keeps flooding in.
Maybe in addition to fastest to a million, we can take the overall record for most donations.

The point of Kickstarter is that it really doesn't matter what happens on the open marketplace. Producers got paid Consumers get their product. Everyone's happy Could all involved of worked on something safer? Yeah probably, but they knew the risks when they went into it.

Fine for the most part. I haven't used it for a long time though and AFAIK it still needs a BIOS file unfortunately.
This is the one thing I was absolutely, positively convinced beyond any shadow of a doubt we'd never ever see happen.

Also, kind of a bad thing to say, but - even if this ends up a complete and utter disaster of bugs and bad gameplay, I won't mind. I just want to get over that cliffhanger and get a conclusion of sorts. The mere existence of the kickstarter is already enough for me, no matter how things eventually turn out.
I'm looking forward to be amazed, though.

Just one of those "Where the Fuck did that come from?!" E3's we enjoy once every decade.
I bought a limited edition model cheap in Akihabara a few years ago. It works on modern TV's but doesn't look particularly nice sadly.
I've watched it around 20 times now and it just isn't getting old. It'll go down in history as once of the most genuinely honest reactions from a real fan I've ever seen. Huber has my respect.
