Are people actually surprised? Nintendo is creatively bankrupt and has been for a while. They've put out some good and even great stuff on occasion recently but the majority of what they do is exactly this.

Listening to them say shit like "we don't just rest on our laurels" or whatever they said was just laughable, that's exactly what they do.
Looks at the last game ue bought....Splatoon, remind me how Nintendo are creatively bankrupt? Im not defending this e3 for Nintendo (im not crazy) but it seems to me like development has shifted to NX launch.

That was just appalling. I am really really disappointed. Every game announced was a B-tier third rate effort. Metroid, Zelda, Animal Crossing - all junk versions of their respective franchises. Starfox looks like poo and the Paper Mario vs. Mario & Luigi is such a cheap effort to please an audience without investing in the man power of a proper Paper Mario game.

Lol exactly. Can't wait for Nintendo to go 3rd party.

Not much to say.

Very disappointing, but as other people are saying, it looks like the big bombs are likely being moved to the NX.

Starfox Zero looks great, though.

What can you do? My WiiU purchase is still justified, but sheesh, compared to the spectacle of Sony's show, this one felt significantly more lackluster.

Is it too early in the morning to commit sudoku >_<

Yet again Nintendo has cleaved my heart in two and stomped it into a bloody pulp. I'm going to go cry into the cold plastic shoulder of my Villager amiibo - at least I can see the dead in his eyes up front. He won't trick me with his intentions like Iwata-san.

A chibi Metroid sports game, get out of town. Earth is just going to hell in a handbasket.

Nintendo's conference felt like this:

It is seriously heartbreaking.

It'd been better if they had no Micro Direct, no Smash Direct and no announcments at the NWC.

Not majorly, but still enough to fill a conference without dev story filler.

Can't believe everyone's so down on it.

Yeah not as big as last year, but last year was hard to top. We got a new Mario RPG and a new Zelda game with ONLINE. Seriously so excited for Zelda. An its this year!

That Metroid should've been a new IP since Metroid is about isolation. It looks like you don't even play as Samus but I really like what I saw of it so hyped for it.

Skylanders is cool.

I prefer portables so I fon't care for ACW but that AC troll was really bad. It better be f2p since it requires Amiibo. Also don't see much point in Tennis when I have 3DS one but whatever.

Overall a great event imo. Nothing was going to beat TLG for me. But I'd rank it as one of my favorite confs in the recent past.

People are just hit in the face with the death of the wiiu. I dont own a 3ds, so none of that hits for me.

I somehow had a hunch before the DE that this would fall very flat...I looked at the hype in this thread and thought: "oh boy, this is gonna be a trainwreck".
After the great 2014 DE, this was really lame. They shouldn't have split off stuff like the Smash stuff and EBB. Ah well, at least Star Fox looks nice and I'm still interested in #FE.

It's all about transformation!

The biggest highlight of their show was a game where the user is supposed to create the content? I know that sort of worked for minecraft, but that had a lot of meat on it's bones.

Why are strippers at the U.N. bad when they're great at strip clubs???
I can't even contain myself on how disappointed I am from Nintendo.

Goodness.

Just plaster Wii U a graveyard shall we.

Hyped about NX, that's where it's at

I guess people like CGI trailers of games coming out 2-3 years from now better than up to date content
Ding ding ding.

Nintendo has been singing their own tune for over a decade. It's ok if you're not interested in some, happy home designer isn't aimed at the 30 year old male. But that's the content they produce.

They're moving on to NX development and they just phased out their last software line up last year. Although some glaring omissions like Rhythm Heaven and Style Saavy definately hurt.

The biggest tone deaf decision they made definately is the Metroid spin off. I'd been 5 years since the last one, which was a very controversial release. A reappearance as a spin off of a dying franchise is not what you should do.

Still, excited about Mario Maker, Starfox and Yoshi.

That was pretty damn boring.
Starfox looks pretty good but I'm not really convinced about the Gamepad gameplay

And the rest was just meh. I've got both a 3DS and WiiU and I'm not specialy excited about anything new they showed.

The new SMTXFE trailer got me even less excited about it. Was that Vocaloid in the background?.

I'd give it a C- (mostly because they had plenty of gameplay... and the puppet segments were fun)

Ok that was really bad, only thing that interested me was three swords and paper Mario and luigi, but I guess I have faith that they are hard at work in some NX games to have a good launch. My only question from this is if all you had to show was star fox and Mario maker then why have that smash direct in the first place, that could have easily fit into here and I doubt anybody is running to the eshop right now so there was no reason to create the chaos earlier to open up the eshop now.

Edit: Yoshi also looks good but I've already determined that before the digital event

Boss Doggie

all my loli wolf companions are so moe
I have low expectations and it felt disastrous to me.

You just have to compare what they did last year.

It's pretty clear we are now in that dead zone between Systems that Nintendo fans are familiar with. I was hoping for one more wave of AAA-calibur Nintendo goodness. I guess it is not coming which is sad. Despite all of the doom and gloom, the Wii U has had some great Nintendo titles and one more wave would have cemented it as having a respectable lifespan, now it will forever be a system with an asterix (like the Dreamcast) in which it has had some great experiences but any recollection of it will also bring the talk of it's poor performance and abbreviated life.

If it's not incredibly clear that Nintendo is all in on the NX, I don't know what to say to you GAF other than you are fucking blind.

They said they were mostly showing games coming out this year, but wow. THAT'S IT?!
It is SO obvious that Zelda and any other big games they have are moved to the next system. It's incredibly clear. Jesus Christ what a poor showing.

It was just as I expected, they're keeping all the good stuff for the NX. Oh well, there was at least some good stuff in it.

Nintendo World Championship 9.0
Bethesda 8.5
Microsoft 7.5
EA 6.0
Ubisoft 7.0
Sony 9.5
Nintendo 6.5

StarFox, Xenoblade Chronicles X are looking great

Got hopes up for the Paper Mario collection, and instead got Paper Mario in a M&L game.

Yeah, gonna keep saving up for a PS4, but honestly Nintendo kept blowing their load prematurely and left us with nothing substantial for the Direct.

Zelda, save us all at TGS.

That was horrible. Absolutely horrible.

We find out Star Fox has fucking walking segments, trailers upon trailers for games we've known since last year, so much Animal Crossing, and the most / only interesting surprise was Mario & Luigi.

Why oh why didn't they do any of the Smash stuff for today? They couldn't get even a screenshot of Zelda ready.

And now watching Treehouse, Starfox looks super slow...I'm convinced now Star Fox 64 was a fluke.

Really poor. I was razor close to buying a Wii U yesterday too. Still might. It's a shame though that Nintendo are clearly going to leave it behind sooner rather than later

Guess I'm the only one. It didn't set the world on fire, but I would like to play everything they showed unlike the other conferences where I only saw 3 or 4 titles that interested me.

Uhm, so this was everything Nintendo has to offer? That was a pretty disappointing showing. Kinda seems like they are pretty much done with the Wii U and try to delay Zelda to the NX launch to pull a Twilight Princess.
