and Mario.....

Worst thing is there was nothing surprising. Starfox looks fine, but in a very boring predictable way. Basically gonna be Assault.
Mario Tennis? We know how it plays?
The rest was stuff we already knew about.

Focus on NX has to be the reason, which makes sense.

Nintendo has done a lot of cool things on Wiiu since the disastrous launch and yet it is still going to be their worst platform sales wise. They have effectively 0 third party support. Less than gamecube and Wii.

With WiiU I'm not really looking forward, just backward. Backlog is more interesting.

Wow, I don't know what to say. I was not expecting much, but something inside me, maybe the nostalgic kid being happy when his mother bought him the NES in 1987 was hoping for at least something to suck him back in, and...

Nothing!

I am still getting a Wii U for Mario, etc., but not until it's $99.

You are never getting a Wii U then.

So basically everyone thought the conference was terrible because they wanted ground shaking AAA wii u announcements instead of a bunch of interesting 3DS games

This feels more immediately terrible than the 2008 one. At least that one was funny. :(

I've rarely been more disappointed.

Star Fox and Paper Mario look fun though. And a lot of the games look fun. I just hate how much they have to keep harping on things that don't have worthwhile new information. They've trotted out Mario Maker, and Yoshi, and Xenoblade enough. Hyrule Warriors even managed to waste time here after releasing a year ago.

They don't care about Wii U, they moved on to their next cross-platforms console.

FTFY

3DS is still a successful platform and it shows that they're at least trying in this category.

Wii U? I wouldn't be surprised if the new Zelda game is an NX-exclusive launch title.

An enjoyable, but pretty standard conference. Clearly big things happening behind the scenes, but we're not gonna see them this year.
+Animal Crossing Amiibo Party looks great. Honestly more attractive to me than a new core AC.
+Starfox looks real solid. It's Starfox.
+Paper Jam could be great! Hopefully its' more Paper Mario than Mario & Luigi - but I question it.
+30th Anniversary stuff looks real neat. Super Mario Maker looks cool, and that 8-bit Amiibo is cool.
-None of the Fire Emblem stuff appeals to me.
-Xenoblade X continues to be meh
-So Retro's doing another handheld thing? Eeeeeeeeeeeh.
-Skylanders x Amiibo could be so much more.

B-. But man, 2016 is gonna be fun.

Huge Nintendo fan here. Had some fun Nintendo charm, but suuuuper disappointing E3 for them. Wow. There was kind of just... nothing. Well, that's not true, but nothing new and really exciting at least.

Seems like all their new games are being made for NX and they've not much to show for the Wii U. Why'd they show Smash early? At least that would have had some excitement, haha.

Damn. After how good last year was, I kind of had faith.

Be interested to see how the new Metroid is going to be like. Should be fun, through I hope it not like Hunters where the maps were mostly one point A to B area (kind of doubt it through). That, Star Fox and Mario and Luigi Paper Jam were the most interesting to me.

Probably give this direct a C.

Well, shoot. I'm disappointed. It's not like there weren't some nice things announced, but none of the surprises were things I was excited for. Star Fox looks like it could be good and it's the major positive I'm pulling from this overall disappointing event.

I guess it just wasn't my year. I don't like Yoshi games, I don't like Paper Mario, and I'm not very fond of multiplayer Zelda. Plus, a bunch of amiibos I don't care about and a few I'll likely have to buy from scalpers.

Poor Wii U was snubbed! NX is going to have a hell of a launch line up tho!

Unfortunately it probably won't.... we were saying that about the WiiU when the Wii software petered out at the end. I'd like to be wrong, though.

That was just appalling. I am really really disappointed. Every game announced was a B-tier third rate effort. Metroid, Zelda, Animal Crossing - all junk versions of their respective franchises. Starfox looks like poo and the Paper Mario vs. Mario & Luigi is such a cheap effort to please an audience without investing in the man power of a proper Paper Mario game.

Nintendo gets an F+. With the plus only because of the Mario and Luigi game and it would've been higher had it been for Wii U and not 3DS.

Also no Pokemon means NX DEFINITELY isn't a 3DS successor. 3DS had more game reveals than Wii U. That should indicate they are supporting 3DS whereas Wii U is gonna go bye bye next year.

I knew they wouldn't surprise me like Sony did. But they managed to surprise me with the worst presentation ever. Still, i somehow understand Ninty. Everything they showed, somehow resembled some Quick-Solution-Games until they can provide new hardware. I hope they will put all they have into the next console. Releasing high budget games on a somewhat dead console is just loss. Looking forward to 2016 with NX!

Can't believe everyone's so down on it.

Yeah not as big as last year, but last year was hard to top. We got a new Mario RPG and a new Zelda game with ONLINE. Seriously so excited for Zelda. An its this year!

That Metroid should've been a new IP since Metroid is about isolation. It looks like you don't even play as Samus but I really like what I saw of it so hyped for it.

Skylanders is cool.

I prefer portables so I fon't care for ACW but that AC troll was really bad. It better be f2p since it requires Amiibo. Also don't see much point in Tennis when I have 3DS one but whatever.

Overall a great event imo. Nothing was going to beat TLG for me. But I'd rank it as one of my favorite confs in the recent past.

They knocked in out of the park with this one. My goodness, I cannot WAIT to go beat my gamepad off the wall until it shatters because fucking hell that hurt my soul thinking about how I bought a Wii U this past Sunday...

That was terrible, absolutely terrible, starfox was a great start then the rest to me was just drivel, no wii u Metroid, no fcking nothing for wii u that hasn't been revealed before

This is how I feel, im a big starfox fan, so I was glad with that, altho miyamoto confused me on when this takes place in the timeline, he basically said its not a reboot but like everyone de-aged and characters like krystal wasent there at all, otherwise im hyped for that but then....it went all the way downhill afterwards D:

so which Wii U games will you buy in 2015/16?
Mario Maker, Star Fox, XCX, Yarn Yoshi and maybe Mario tennis. Not to bad when I'm thinking about it

People bitching about buying a WiiU recently, there are plenty amazing games already on the system. The console already has a great library, there isn't just much coming additionally

even with lowered expectations that felt weak. would not be surprised if the AC amiibo outsell the game they are supporting

Got the one game I really wanted in Mario Sports.

Definitely a very weak presentation. I guess NX is releasing in 2016 but I'm surprised they didn't have at least one substantial 2016 game.

Pretty clear Nintendo is done with Wii U and 3DS, and focusing internally on NX now. Aside from Star Fox, everything shown today is budget-level stuff (Animal Crossing Party? Really?).

I guess it's not all bad, I'll have plenty of time to play the games I already own.

Hey Nintendo, next time don't launch with shitty hardware and maybe you would have some 3rd party games to help you out. Nintendo can't keep their systems a float anymore in this HD era by themselves.
