Maybe I'm done with Nintendo...

First we got the Wii and everything changed... but we got great games, so ok.
Now the Wii U and... and what? There's nothing.

I don't want a Animal Crossing party game, I want Animal Crossing.
I don't want a Metroid minigame, I want Metroid.
I don't want a Zelda 4 swords sequel, I want Zelda.
... etc.

Playstation it is then... I'm in the same boat dude.

The most fascinating thing here is for me, how after the colossal failure that the Wii U has been, and after this digital event, people here are still looking forward to the NX.

I think, I will never ever buy anything Nintendo again. And I have been a loyal fan up to the Wii.

You people remind me of a beaten housewife coming back for more again and again.

The party is over, people, go home.

The NX won't change that.

How can a conference change something? It's just a conference, I don't understand

I was literally shaking with anger during that conference. Tears formed in my eyes and my fists were clenched. "Announce something," I shrieked at my computer. My mom knocked on my bedroom door and had to ask if I was ok. Then, they started showing me a bunch of losers playing instruments dressed as Mario and I just turned it off. It was actually unbelievable.

Now, I'm 31 years old and this was, without a doubt, the worst conference I've ever seen in my life. It's clear that Nintendo is not just done with the Wii U but done with the company. There is no recovering from a conference that bad. They'll talk about the NX at next E3, but people will ignore it after remembering Blast Balls.

I loved this company and put my heart and soul into dedicating my gaming life to them. But now, I have nothing. I'm an empty shell.

I invited a friend of mine who used to be a Nintendo fan to watch this with me. I felt like I was inviting her to see this mutual friend of us she doesn't hang out with nowadays, and I tried to rekindle the friendship, telling her he's a very cool, funny guy...and he shows up drunk out of his mind in his Mario themed underwear.
I feel sorry for your friend

I just don't fucking get Nintendo.

They could've made this at least somewhat better if they had the Lucas/Ryu/Roy announcement during this. Or even the Earthbound Beginnings announcement during this too.

They could've acknowledged Fatal Frame, Devil's Third too. They could've mentioned that it's Platinum that's making Star Fox.

I just don't get it.

this was disappointing i was hoping for a lot more but i guess like many others thoughts they are probably saving games for the nx. Granted they did say they were focusing on 2015 but still lots of 2016 was mentioned. This was the worst e3 show this year. Maybe a 3 or 4 out of 10.

So far best conferences order is:
  1. bethesda
  2. microsoft
  3. ubisoft
  4. ea
  5. sony
  6. nintendo
now if were basing it off of hype alone :
  1. sony
  2. bethesda
  3. microsoft
  4. ubisoft
  5. ea
  6. nintendo

Mario Tennis HD means that Nintendo won E3 for me. Plain and simple. It also means their digital event was way better than last year's for me because I really can't think of anything from last year that came close to fucking Mario Tennis for me. MARIO. TENNIS. FUCK YES.

By the way. What happened to that pokkentekken (don't remember the name) project ?
They should show at least CG trailer of that. And new trailer for Zelda would save this digital event...well maybe not save but wash out the bad after taste :p

31 living at home. Think you have more issues than Nintendo's horrible digital event

So are they waiting with Zelda to put in on the new console? It's really weird that they show things, then not show anything.

I'm getting suspicious now. I wasn't before but if it doesn't show up at E3 in any capacity I think that's weird for a game that was already shown and was supposed to release this year. They must be making an extremely disruptive change to the game.

For me personally, the only exciting thing from this conference was Star Fox.

Everything else looked good, but didn't really excite me much.

If I didn't have so many eshop titles, I would probably just sale my Wii U and stick strictly to the PC from here on out. Nintendo literally made me disgusted with that presentation.

The console had just started making headway, and they more or less just killed it.

I guess I can say for sure now that Wii U is the worst Nintendo console I've ever owned.

I'm not saying I didn't have my share of fun with it, but I'm not sure if the $350 I paid for it were worth it.

So much wasted potential. :(

the worst nintendo e3 since the wii music fiasco.
i'm so gutted, have an almost empty feeling inside, I had low expectations and they went far lower than i could have imagined.

Yeah damn. This was super disappointing. As if they would have bested that legendary sony conference, but I would have been happy if they just announced a good metroid. I'd rather there be no metroid than this rubbish to pretty blunt.

Retro project hasn't been shown though? Chance for a Wii U metroid?

Only awesome thing is platinum games making the campaign for star fox. I love the attention they are getting lately. Now they just need the reigns to MGR 2...

I just bought a Splatoon Wii U Sunday on a whim at Best Buy for $225. I was expecting this E3 to be one of their lesser showings since I feel like NX is where all the focus is at right now. I am not disappointed at all in the event as I had low expectations and there are a few games I am looking forward to. Plus I still have ~3 years of quality titles to pick up and play.

Hopefully Wii U owners, content and discontent, will get a bone once NX releases as a token for their support.

That was kinda sad, that video just confirmed that I will never own a Wii-U, the first Nintendo console I will ever skip. Starfox just looked so unambitious and basic.

They don't even seem to care anymore.

It's a "disappointment" and yet still manages to have the best console library yet this gen somehow.
It does completely suck that Nintendo has done next to nothing with what makes the u unique though. Waste of potential.

Pokken comes out in arcades next month. They're not going to piss off arcades with a trailer at E3.

Also, why no Rhythym Heaven localization announcement? That would've made it a perfect 3DS Direct.

Do we know what the NX is? will it be a ninth generation console? will 3rd parties support it before going to the PS5 and next box?

i am torn. If the NX has no 3rd part support it mght fail. x(

Parody post?

Hopefully...

wow lol.

Again from Nintendo's perspective it makes sense to abandon WiiU.

That said though, a good way to make money with little effort is DLC. They could have shown MK8 DLC or Splatoon DLC or something. or that the HW 3DS new parts are also coming to WiiU as DLC.

Wii VC release announcements are better than the filler they showed.

Devil's third and Fatal Frame also better filler.

It was just shit. I really wonder if they know it was terrible or they are clueless haha. Like night and day with 2014.

Goddamn, well I do understand this reception, but this still isn't 2008 or 2012. It was just a mediocre direct, with not a ton of Wii U stuff, which I guess makes sense. Some nice games coming to 3DS which was a surprise, and I learned release dates for their major games. That's all I was really expecting really so I'm ok. It was bad but eh, at least they'll have a decent holiday lineup.

Neither. Don't know how you came to that conclusion.

The GC had Wind Waker, which a liked a lot more than Twilight Princess.

I obviously came to that conclusion due to Twilight Princess being cross-gen. Good news, Wii U also has Windwaker. It truly is the Gamecube 2.

Trash.

Mind you, I loved Starfox - but too much stuff we already knew about, too much Amiibo, too much watered-down Animal Crossing (how did we get these spinoffs, but no full game for the Wii U?).

Nothing major to celebrate Mario 30th but Mario Maker? No Galaxy 3? No additional 3rd party collabs besides the ones we already know? Weak.

But I forgive everything at E3 this year, as I saw Starfox, FF7R and Shenmue 3. Life is good.

Well, that was a complete catastrophe.

VERY clear Nintendo has completely given up on the Wii U and is shifting support away. Possible that Zelda, Next Level, and Retro have all shifted towards the successor.

Even the 3DS support is almost entirely phoned in.

FExSMT looks absolutely brutally bad. As in, I could never buy it out of fear someone may notice me playing it, bad.

Paper Mario x Mario & Luigi found a new way to brutalize PM even more than Sticker Star did.

The 3DS Zelda and Metroid are clearly completely phoned in and just exist to say "oh look, it's Metroid." The 3DS is clearly too long in the tooth now and Nintendo appear to be shifting away there too.

No announcements regarding Virtual Console or the new account/rewards system- was thrilled about Earthbound Zero, but it would have been nice to see some of the games announced in other regions which haven't come to US yet.

No indie sizzle reel.

From the entire presentation, I'll probably get Fire Emblem, Xeno X, and Star Fox. Even EA and Ubi managed to get at least one pleasant surprise out of there conferences.

I walk away convinced that the android rumor may actually be true. Nintendo must be absolutely desperate for development support in ways that they never have been before now, and I believe they're willing to take unprecedented step for them. They have to know how bad that was.

It's their next platform, yes. Nothing known about it yet though.

Nintendo's next platform. They will probably offer two SKUs, handheld and console but both systems will play the exact same games.

Nobody knows. They just said its an upcoming platform with more info on it in 2016.

Ok, cool. Not much I can say since I just heard about this.

I don't know why so many people are harping on this. As far as showing games and actual gameplay I feel they did the best out of anyone who has gone so far. There wasn't a single trailer that was cg with no gameplay. We got a release date for Xenoblade X, more info for Super Mario Maker that included some info on the development process of it and the original game, announcement to try it out at Best Buy, Star Fox Wii U footage and a demo, a cute interview with one of the people involved in Wooly World and more gameplay footage, a new Legend of Zelda, it looks like two new Animal Crossings, a Metroid spinoff that looked bleh, a new Mario Tennis, a new Mario & Luigi/Paper Mario game, a new Level 5 game, a new Fire Emblem, and some game called FE.

This was rock solid!

a lot of what were seeing makes me think of the "new" nintendo, many of these titles (in idea anyway) can be translated to whats popular in mobile, social and "casual" gaming.

nintendo has been watching and learning.

it wasn't the worst showing (unless you wanting wiiu action), i'd say it was on par with most showings nintey has had when they are in transition.

They're all "remember NWC."

Not even Treehouse talking about the event at all or any games announced.

Only Mario Maker, and briefly Star Fox when they were showing it.
