I was literally shaking with anger during that conference. Tears formed in my eyes and my fists were clenched. "Announce something," I shrieked at my computer. My mom knocked on my bedroom door and had to ask if I was ok. Then, they started showing me a bunch of losers playing instruments dressed as Mario and I just turned it off. It was actually unbelievable.

Now, I'm 31 years old and this was, without a doubt, the worst conference I've ever seen in my life. It's clear that Nintendo is not just done with the Wii U but done with the company. There is no recovering from a conference that bad. They'll talk about the NX at next E3, but people will ignore it after remembering Blast Balls.

I loved this company and put my heart and soul into dedicating my gaming life to them. But now, I have nothing. I'm an empty shell.

Post of the fucking year.

It was eh...

It was needing a major 3D Wii U game announcement. Was hoping for Metroid, but any sort of big first party game would do. I guess we just have Zelda left.

Why do people think Nintendo is abandoning the Wii U because of this E3? lol.

Last year people were complaining there were TOO MANY Wii U game announcements.

Because fuck dev time. Nintendo has to deliver big AAA announcements year after year. Its clear whats happened here. They're simply not ready to announce anything new at the moment. Not because they don't want to. Is it Nintendo's fault they have to rely on first party? Yes but at the same time we know this already so why be pissed off that games actually take time to develop?

I'm a lifelong Nintendo fan, I bought Wii U day one and I have enjoyed it, but I won't be buying NX if this is how they treat their platforms and their customers. Fuck 3ds, fuck NX and fuck Nintendo.
They have 2 platforms to support by themselves. It would put a huge strain on any company to do that with no outside help.

That said, they screwed up bad on the third party front.

All of these knee jerk reactions are too much. Nintendo didn't show the game I wanted, so I'm going to cry and sell my system because there aren't any other games available. Boo hoo.

Some of you guys really need to step back and check your emotions.

I obviously came to that conclusion due to Twilight Princess being cross-gen. Good news, Wii U also has Windwaker. It truly is the Gamecube 2.
Nah not even close. Gamecube at least had two amazing Metroids, a Paper Mario, an FZero, and more.

Also can you accidentally hack the NX when it comes out? I remember lurking the thread in your tag and dying of laughter.

The has a remaster. Not an original title.

I didn't say it was? It at least has Hyrule Warriors. I don't see why you would feel so personally slighted if the new Zelda was cross-gen or exclusive to NX. Unless you bought a Wii U specifically for the new Zelda, which would be hilarious.

That was awful. It's pretty clear they're slowly abandoning the Wii U and 3DS. NX needs to be out next year at this rate.

It was a mistake to ignore Zelda this year. They should have made a trailer for that, plus say a new 3D Mario is in development (platform unspecific). Boom, event saved

I was actually kind of un-impressed by the StarFox stuff...it really doesn't look very polished.

I was only hoping for Zelda U, I am severely disappointing.

Nintendo told us well in advance what to expect and you guys still overhyped things. You guys have nobody to blame but yourselves.

I wasn't really expecting any bombs, but I think Star Fox Zero and Paper Jam was enough for me, really.

We were told we'd see unnannounced Wii U games coming through early 2016. We got a Mario Tennis game and an Animal Crossing party game. That's it.

The Animal Crossing and Metroid announcement killed me inside. I was hoping so much for something legit.

As soon as I saw Animal Crossing in HD I got way excited. Then I saw those icons on the ground, I stayed in denial for a bit. Then the dice appeared and, ugh, oh.

That was a little underwhelming, no doubt about it.

I do think some in here are overreacting just a bit, though.

LOL I agree. It sucked, mostly because they announced all the big shit earlier this week/end (plus Animal Crossing U looks like shit, and no mention of Retro's project).

People are claiming that this will be the end of Nintendo - give me a break!

I mean I already have my money's worth for Wii U and still need to get a lot of older games like Bayo 1&2, Splatoon, Captain Toad, Hyrule Warriors. From the upcoming I like Yoshi, Xenoblade, Mario Maker and Zelda, don't care for any of the rest, maybe Star Fox, which seems like a low budget game. I also want some Indie stuff.

3DS seems fine but WTF Wii U, really disappointed!!

If Zelda does not release on Wii U fuck it, will not buy the next system, don't care how amazing it is. I am glad I have a PS4.

I feel the Metroid and Animal Crossing spin-offs are what make me dislike this direct so much. That Metroid game is so far off from Metroid, it might as well be a new IP, and the Animal Crossing game should have just been Mario Party 10 DLC.

The fact that we're getting these titles instead of REAL sequels is upsetting.

There is no grey area with Nintendo. Either they have an amazing showing at E3 or it is the worst ever. They're either the greatest company of all time or the scourge that is killing gaming.

There is no "thinking Nintendo is okay" There is no "Nintendo is fine, I guess". You either love Nintendo or you hate them. Period.

wii u is dead

all hail NX

NX is DOA with the way Nintendo is destroying their rep. I can't see a sane person going to buy their new system when the customers got burned on previous one. We'll just be paying more money for the same thing to happen.

What's so bad about it, is that the Wii U was finally doing good again.

Even when the dice rolled I just thought "oh cool, they are brining some depth to the mini-games that villagers sometimes want you to play!"

Fucking terrible.

What a horrible presentation. But then again, it's all about the games I will actually buy for the system THIS YEAR.

For 2015, I'm getting Xenoblade X, Mario Tennis U, Star Fox, Yoshi, Devil's Third, Fast Racing Neo and a bunch of Amiibo on the Wii U whereas I will only buy FIFA 16 and NBA 2K16 on the PS4.

The rest of the AAA games shown I will get on PC.

Sony wins this conference but Nintendo wins my wallet. Yes, those puppets are dancing.

Everyone should have known what they were getting themselves into when they bought a Wii U tbh

A $300 dedicated Smash and Mario Kart machine to put your pretty little new toys on top of the controller.

I don't own a Wii U, but if I even buy one at this point it will be almost all for the games that have already released on it over the last two and half years, like the few you mention. The only announced Wii U game on the horizon that would greatly interest me is probably Star Fox.

Which is I also why I sort of feel for Wii U owners, who are expecting more out of their console beyond what has already been released.

I'm very happy with the Wii U, one of the better consoles I've owned, but there's no denying they're winding down on it now. I just worry they'll do another Wii end of life where they leave it for two years before releasing the new console. It needs to be fall next year really.

The thing I don't get is why they announced Ryu and Earthbound Beginnings early when the Direct was going to be full of so much filler.

Now that I think about it...

Isn't Devil's Third supposed to be releasing this year, and Fatal Frame, and that Namco free to play game?

I wonder why these weren't shown.

You know what disappointed me? There were Star Fox Muppets shown in the Digital Event, yet they didn't announce a Star Fox TV show by The Jim Henson Company.

Aside from that, it's more or less what I expected from a company about to make a platform shift.

Nintendo stated multiple times that this was about 2015 and early 2016 you guys should have kept your hype in check. Personally im buying

Star Fox Zero
Devil's Third
Xenoblade Chronicles X
Super Mario Maker
Fatal Frame : Maiden of Black Water
Animal Crossing Amiibo party
Yoshi Wooly World
Mario Tennis Ultra Smash
Mario & Sonic at the 2016 Rio Olympic Games

so im very happy but my taste is also different from other peoples so i can understand being a little disappointed.

The most fascinating thing here is for me, how after the colossal failure that the Wii U has been, and after this digital event, people here are still looking forward to the NX.

I think, I will never ever buy anything Nintendo again. And I have been a loyal fan up to the Wii.

You people remind me of a beaten housewife coming back for more again and again.

I don't see how this is surprising (or fascinating or whatever). Despite the commercial failure over the last several years and the terrible conference today, most people are able to acknowledge the Wii U has produced some excellent content over its lifespan and has been very enjoyable. I don't regret my purchase, at least, but then I tend to make purchases based on what is presently available as opposed to expectations for the future.

Oh I know, but that post stood out.

Nintendo has some games for 2015 unlike some others.

I'd like to say every conference announced multiple big games for this year that are going to be some of the best we've had in a while coming out this year.

But to each their own I guess.

IMO, this is one of the best years in gaming.

How did customers "get burned"???

Wii U has had the best and most diverse line up of exclusives since the Gamecube. You people are out of control, trolls, or are just plain stupid.

You guys sure are a bunch of optimists. All the comments about "shifting support to NX". Nintendo hasn't supported a home console properly in 20 years, and now they have mobile to consider.
