Yeah, I agree with this. The variety of gameplay types might have meant that the individual elements in Nier were not fully polished, but I still loved that variety.Which is exactly why they're perfect for the job!
They're keeping the writer/director and composer, but new gameplay guys.
Also Yoshida, fucking YOSHIDA man.
This shit is gonna be so awesome.
Though I gotta say, I hope it doesn't become a character action game. I liked the overall game design in Nier, the puzzles, mechanics and such, it was just somewhat poorly executed. The mansion level was amazing.
Nier never got a port, sadly, otherwise I'd be playing it right now rather than contemplating going through the trouble of finding the disc, getting my last-gen console setup working again, and then playing it in its 720p, uneven framerate glory :/Low budget super-Japanese thing? Makes sense for it to be PlayStation exclusive. Japanese games, generally speaking, do not sell well on Xboxes. With that said, I would be surprised if this doesn't get a PC port eventually.
Don't worry, it's going to eventually come to PC ;D
So stupid its exclusive
The job this man is doing with Square is unreal

Grimoire nier seemed to implyI've just realised, is the protagonist Yonah? She looks like she could be the sister/daughter of Nier. And it would follow ending D.
Companies trying to one-up each other is the greatest thing ever. This year was absolutely nuts.
People who like weird Japanese games are likely to either have, or will strongly consider buying a PS4, so that platform is an obvious choice for Japanese-centric games. And if the sales of the 360 version of Nier in the West were weak, there'd be little reason for Square Enix to consider the Xbone. The sales ratio of games like Final Fantasy Type 0 will add further credence to solely release on PS4. However, I wouldn't be too surprised if a PC version comes out in a couple of years. The reason is that PC versions of critically well received games can sell pretty well even if they're released years later, while that doesn't seem to be the case for console versions. So stupid its exclusive

I want shmup sections, isometric parts, sidescrollers and text adventures.
Barf? Lol the PS4 has games that cover every genre and type it's not that bad bro.Barf, PS4 is the last console I wanted.
But I love Nier too much.
I bought a PS3 only for Drakengard 3.
So this is just following up on that.
I guess.
I've been meaning to replay Nier for quite a while now. It would seem fate has forced my hand.
I have complete faith in Platinum, my worries are that S-E got Platinum because they want an action game, you know?
I have no doubts Platinum is capable of more, I'd love to see a 2D platformer from them, actually.
Grimoire nier seemed to imply, so I doubt its yonah.Yonah will die no matter what The Shadowlord or Nier did
Director: Yoko Taro

Game Designer: Takahisa Taura (Metal Gear Rising)
Character Designer: Akihiko Yoshida
