They like Japanese games they know. They think Nier is shit, therefore the new Nier is shit and they have no interest. Only one of them has played a Star Ocean game (Think he said it was 2) and said it was forgettable (Even though it's great), so they have zero interest in the new one.

Seems like its more of a struggle with the controls itself while the level design, art, enemy design is all great. I'd be surprised if Nintendo forced you to use gyro controls only for the game, since they're usually all about accessibility. Doesn't sound like something that's too late to be improved upon.

Nier 2 has some immense talent behind it for their strengths. The music and character art will be absolutely S-rank. The story will 100% go places, it will not be anything near a rote, tired affair. If they can keep the world design and general gameplay direction on Yoko Taro's side, but wholly leave the specifics of the gameplay in Platinum's hands, I think that'd be a potent mix of hot saucy sweetness.

That was probably the strongest conference for me, pacing was off but they had a lot of games that I'm interested in.

Yeah, lots of good shit that's coming soon. Sony had the biggest "wow holy shit FUCK" conference but both Bethesda and Square showed a number of cool titles that are all coming soon.

I'm surprised we didn't see any Bravely Default 2 at Square.
