I think everyone needs to take a long walk outside.
Especially the guy that tweeted that to Iwata.

I don't understand why they had a separate, earlier stream for the Smash DLC when their main conference was this starved for content.
Well if Nintendo didn't know what their customers wanted, they do now. Their twitter account is brutal right lol

You apparently have a MUCH lower threshold for "amazing" than the rest of us.![]()
Iwata:Thanks for watching. Received lots of opinions, will work to meet everyone's expectations better in the future.

Star Fox 2 concepts finally out, platinum games is involved. A Mario level creator. A Zelda co-op game I can play with my son. I was just wishing for a Four Swords successor and my wish was granted.
I'm pretty excited.
This is the part that confuses the hell out of me. If you had nothing, why not just show everything together?
Like... this presentation would have been done in 20~25 minutes easy.
This.I don't understand why they had a separate, earlier stream for the Smash DLC when their main conference was this starved for content.
The Wii U is the new Sega Saturn, this is the E3 1997 moment when a Sega executive declared their console dead early.
I think it's safe to say Metroid is not in its Prime this decade. This Federation game just feels Forced

Nintendo's usual pattern is that they spread out information now throughout instead of putting everything in their E3 basket. I'm pretty sure if they decided to merge the smash announcement and mother beginnings on sunday and the micro-direct a few weeks back, there wouldn't be as much vitriol about content than there is now.
It was a bad conference...but holy shit dudes chill.
People having breakdowns over this is a little overboard, no?
It sucked really bad and if nothing else at E3 touches you, I can imagine the letdown but relax.
Its not the end of the world. Or even the end of Nintendo. Its a down year after two good-great years (in terms of conferences of course)...Just like those two didn't SAVE NINTENDO this won't kill them either.
It sucks and I question wtf they were thinking, especially since they technically hit all the buttons (Paper Mario, Metroid, and such) but in the wrong ways most if the time. But relax.
Aaron Rodgers says so
They aren't doomed but there's always someone to yell Doomed to deflect criticism.![]()
Never Not Doomed

The one glimmer of hope I took from this conference is that Metroid will make it proper to the NX, as it would be ridiculous to create a spinoff nobody asked for if you weren't going to deliver the goods eventually.
Next Level is working on that Metroid Prime game.
I don't understand why they had a separate, earlier stream for the Smash DLC when their main conference was this starved for content.
It's just a press conference. The Wii U is still a fantastic console.
I'll continue to be a fan as long as they keep making good games. Shitty press conferences be damned.

Damn, i feel bad for being disappointed. But i really was. It's really time for Nintendo to grab the company by the balls and make sure that their games get what they deserve: the best.https://twitter.com/Nintendo/status/610871818988224512

They've moved their teams to NX. This is clear.
No one bought a Wii U, so why spend more money on it?
So did they not announce any 3DS games that were exclusive to *new* 3DS?
Parody post?
I just hope Nintendo is actually creating games for NX. This is the same fucking shit that happened with the Wii to Wii U. No Games for the last year to year and a half for the Wii and there was still barely anything for the Wii U
Well, i think they knew:
1) Iwata not comming
2) Explaining that we can't expect a zelda game @ E3 or NX information
3) Explaining that they will only talk about the games that will be released this year
4) Telling in this event that we will hear more of NX!! next year
It was clear from the start that this event wasn't expected to be "amazing"
Having thought about this a bit, I don't think this DE was terrible. A bit lackluster due to the lack of major Wii U announcements (except the Star Fox unveiling) and most of the new 3DS games being spin-offs, but not terrible. The games shown looked nice for the most part, just nothing that got me super-hyped. The only one that left me wondering what Nintendo was thinking was Animal Crossing Amiibo Festival. I have no idea who that game is supposed to appeal to.
More like Next Level Games had a concept for a game and Nintendo decided that Metroid was a good fit for it. What I mean is that they didn't start developing this game thinking "Hmm we really need to create a Metroid Prime spin-off".
Heres the problem with this logic.
Remember the last 2 years of the Wii? We heard the same thing.
2012 saw Nintendo release in North America:
Kirby port collection (never even hit Europe)
Pikmin 2 port
Xenoblade, 3 year late localization
Mario Party 9
Pokepark
Rhythm Heaven Fever
Thats it
Hell of a lineup right?
All hands on the Wii U deck right?
Oh, and if youre curious, 2011 had
Fortune Street
Mario and Sonic Olympics
Kirby
Mystery Case Files: The Malgrave Incident
Wii Play Motion
Mario Sports Mix
Syward Sword
Hell of a lineup right?
I means thats two entire years where you had two serious games, Skyward Sword and Kirby. On the most successful video game console of all time.
All revving up for the Wii U.

Explains why Iwata didn't buy tickets to E3. Knew their showing was underwhelming and didn't want to bother answering awkward questions by the press.
NX and mobile. I kind of agree with you. For example I think that Animal Crossing board game was originally a full-fledged sequel but then Wii U happened. No reason to waste a proper entry in the series on that system.
This is the conceit of many in this thread.
But I can understand it; they're thinking like fans, not businesspeople.
