Besides the FOV seems like it's pretty cool. Hope they can improve on that.

The FOV has actually gotten smaller according to people who tried it when they first revealed it. So I wouldn't bet on it getting wider again. There is probably a good reason why it was made more narrow.

Are you really surprised that Microsoft doesn't see a problem misrepresenting something in a stage demo? Really?

It's just such a shitty move. They found a way to demo their headset well, something that VR doesn't have, but they do it by pretending that your entire field of view can be augmented. Pretty disgusting.

Why is Adam Jensen the only person in the world with Xray vision tech? All these groups would have much less trouble with this guy constantly infiltrating their bases if they just threw the xray specs on their guards.

Graphically Deus Ex looks great.

It's awesome that they took the effort to include actual Czech language since some portions of the game take place in Prague.

liking what I was able to see of Deus Ex from the GS stream just now. Only caught about 5 minutes of the demo but they were focusing on a stealth run through the area. Seemed that the energy depleted awfully slow while cloaked... maybe that was a tweaked setting for the demo.

Nah, I think it's always interesting to see devs interact with each other on the GB streams. GB is usually good about keeping the shilling to a minimum on these streams.

It's not so much about shilling, just that a lot of developers really aren't that interesting. At least younger devs tend to be dull. I like people that have been in this industry for 10, 15, 20 years and have stories to tell.

That's usually the way it is. Back from the original review, the plan was to encourage Aug use (via a recharge mechanism), so perhaps Augs in general are also less costly.

I know it makes sense to pair east guys with east guys and west guys with west guys for apointments, but I was kind of hoping for a mix up because its the only time we can see them interacting until the end of the year

did they say anything about why no talking over the pc conference?

just a bad time since they're already on the floor doing things? thought it would be boring? just uninterested?

Ack, so much negativity in the streams I watched last night. I never have a problem with a personal opinion but I wish they would get over their opinion and talk about the kind of reaction or following or place a game has in a very large industry. We all have preferences and games coverage has gone from overall appraisals against a median to a much more personal style of coverage but It's so hard to hear cynicism that comes purely from personal preference.

Uncharted 4 'Oh, do we REALLY need another Uncharted game?'
Halo 7 'Sounds great! Always want more Halo'

Dishonored remaster 'Oh boy, a game you've already played'
Gears 3 remaster 'can't wait to play this again!'

It's not even about Nintendo vs MS or Sony or even PC. GB used to be so much fun to listen to. Honest opinion or not, listening to people just shit on major announcements because it's not what they want to see is awful

eh, I think GB just sticking with known quantities would be super fucking boring, and it's something I think they already do too much. even if they don't end up being great they need to roll the dice on new people at these things.

The PC thing is a PC Gamer official conference. It doesn't make sense for them to cover it.

It would be like talking over the IGN stream.

I dont expect anything super hype to come out of the PC event anyway. It's also 3 hours long, so slogging through that for a glimpse of something i might be interested in makes no sense. I'll probably just wait for the news stories to hit.

Pretty sure its going to clash with their first nightly show.

Jeff basically said it's not a real conference.

It's a PC Gamer event, and they said they'd feel weird talking over another publication's event.

oh hmm

I hadn't seen anything about it and figured it was just an ad buy thing not a pub event.

Weird. Should probably lower my expectations drastically then.

You're comparing heavily MP slanted games to mostly sp experiences. I can buy COd every year fine, but I don't want a yearly Fallout or Assassins creed( to be honest)

MS or someone at MS must think Gears of War has this far more interesting world than it actually does.

It's like the most boring dried up version of WH 40k with a much more dull level of stupidness.

Id love to see Dan and Vinny appointments. Or Austin and Brad.

It's console warrior bait, just like Killzone.

and uncharted

I dont know. One of my favorite GB panels is the GDC one with the Phil Fish, The Samurai Gunn guys and Rami Ismail that was a real interesting listen

Has anybody else had this issue with Chrome where any Giant Bomb page with a video on it hangs and has to be killed? It happens even with an incognito window.

You mean where the video "darkens" like it's going to play and then never does? Or are you talking about the page actually locking up? If the former, I usually just close the browser and start it up again to make it work.

The page loads and then hangs before I can even click play. I've even cleared my GB cookies.

Yeah I stopped using the HTTPS Everywhere extension a while back because of issue with Giant Bomb. Pages freeze even when I'm in incognito (all extensions disabled).

Not that I recall. And isn't it Gears 1 not 3?

Yeah, it is Gear 1.

Man, remaster of just Gear 1 is such a strange decision.

I think it's set to streaming, but the page hangs before you can do literally anything on the page, so I can't check.

Hmmm, I've never heard of people having this problem before. I would recommend posting in the bug report forum on the site and @edgework and @jslack to get two of the chat engineer's attention.

Austin at times was able to counter some of that. Like with the JRPGs at Square, yeah we get it that none of the duders have an interest in them but, like Austin said, there are a bunch of people who LOOOOOVE JRPGs and it's great for them that Square seems dedicated to the genre.

It isn't like anybody disagreed with Austin on that. They agreed quite strongly.

Sony just announced they are officially involved with the production and funding of Shenmue 3. Cue the Saltmaker.

Hmmmmmm... that is interesting. I expected that there was funding waiting if they hit their goal but I didn't anticipate it was Sony. It's good news for the game, which is good news for those who wanted to fund it but there is still something strange about a major publisher gauging interest with crowdfunding.

I'll do that. Thank you for trying to help!
