Mario Tennis Ultra Smash (WiiU)

Nintendo... please please PLEASE allow us to turn off those stupid circle things that affect your shots. I can guess the mega transformation will indeed be optional (I bloody hope) but I have no idea if the circles will be able to be turned off.

In Mario Tennis Open you couldn't turn them off... however in Mario Power Tennis you could turn off the power shots. All I want is to be able to play Mario Tennis in HD without all the distractions if we choose to. Please.

I'm genuinely worried :( this is one of my favourite Nintendo franchises.

Uhh they released a new Mario Golf and Mario Tennis on 3DS, about two years apart.

Unless you mean home consoles only, in which case other than a Wii port of Tennis, you would be correct.

And people still think the WiiU Mario Tennis game won't have online when the 3DS game did? Alright then.
 
Im hopeful it has an RPG mode like the GBA game...

But Im guessing this game has a 4 month dev cycle and nothing of the sort.

Are they serious with no motion+ support? I mean, I want to play with a real controller anyway, but thats just shocking.

Oh well, will buy unless something goes horribly wrong

bummer... funny but the best tennis game remains that one EA tennis game from way back with motion plus support.

Mario Tennis Open had online play, so I'm not sure what you're getting at here.

That being said, the lack of any mention of online in their press material for this game is incredibly worrying.

Can't see how the Mega mushrooms add much to the gameplay. Same for Powershots on the previous entries. I feel Mario Tennis has such a great core gameplay just by the expansion of characters unique stats + shots diversity + courts differences. Specially doubles. I wish they expanded on this formula with online gameplay, but don't think they will.

It has online, the Nintendo Network logo is on the boxart they released today.

Can someone just flipping post it again and draw a bold red circle around the nintendo network logo on the boxart so we can put the "lol i hope this has online multiplayer" to rest please?

Nintendo/Camelot are not that stupid when the last Mario Tennis had online on the 3DS.

That one move was enough to cast doubts. But, yeah, Waluigi was introduced in Mario Tennis 64 (The first entry in the sub-series). Removing him would be the same as removing E. Gadd from Luigi's Mansion.

I cycled through so many shittier comparisons before I settled on that shitty comparison. I have failed you, GAF

I really hope this has online. I'm 32 and have been gaming since the NES days. My friends (the few who actually have a Wii U) have gotten jobs and moved away. Getting my ass kicked by my gf (who's pretty damn good at Virtua Tennis) is sure to get tiring after a while.
 
Depends entirely on the feature set.

I really enjoyed the 3DS version but I'm not buying this unless it's bringing something else to the table other than just that again.

Never played any of the others so I don't know what RPG mode is, but I want that please.

Yeah, no Waluigi in Mario Tennis would be like Metroid without Samus.

The Wii game was just a port of the GCN game, so you didn't miss out anything but the 3DS game and a couple handheld rpg spin-offs.

There it is. Nintendo Network logo on the boxart. Online confirmed. Can we stop worrying now? :P

Other boxarts from Nintendo today like Star Fox don't include that logo indicating they do not have online multiplayer.
