Yeah that ultra is easily the best I've seen so far. It seems so satisfying to land it.
There is hella chip you just don't die from it.
Wonder how much advantage it gets you over normal blockstun.
There's chip, but it's recovers just like focus attack health.
Yeah I really like the balance here, especially with Chen and David talking about the utility of jabs in SFV.
But the story goes everyone saw the potential and switched to his parry and honed it and then you have SF III that's the story it's a good one.
I think it's so it's less abusable, you don't have a lot of advantage, that doesn't mean it necessarily has no utility, it certainly does on a move with a lot of recovery. Also supers still do chip iirc.
I don't care for the parry myself, but it's early
Isn't that mainly for normals? Does a fireball do normal chip or white damage?
Enjoyed the hell out of day 1.
SFV is shaping up to be amazing. I hope Capcom do them and don't let outside interference influence the design choices.
Huge props to Ono and Dimps for me personally this is hands down the best looking fighter and it's almost got another year in development.

You can use it to punish super slow stuff, or survive a chip critical. That's about it it seems.

I mean, all they have to do is give him some fast and more varied teleports and he can compete. Teleport + long range normals can be nasty. Take notes from how Bison is a whole other beast now. You can't look at it as transplanting SFIV or previous versions.

Also parrying fireballs. Parrying gives you a lot of V-gauge.

Birdie is super good. Looks like he has a little bit of that Q mindgames going on, where he buffs up if you try to zone all day.

That was my initial thought, too. Who knows, though? If he makes the roster (doubtful), and they gave him some snappy limbs and a fast fireball, he could make a run for things.
I honestly think we are only gonna see 1 more of the SF2 cast return in shipped version. (Ken.)
Like I was saying in previous thread when people where hating on Birdie from what they saw of the trailer that he was gonna be hype as fuck to watch in tournament and was the best design so far he already delivered.
I honestly can't wait to see who indeed does make it in to the final cast. Because, it's clear they are putting a lot of thought behind this even though people might think their choices suck at first.

Yeah, I was not expecting much, but came away very impressed. Plus his redesign probably makes Rufus irrelevant.
Happy Charlie is more rush-down and not charge, leaving the door open for Guile.
The V-system for individual character properties is much welcome and versatile coming from the focus attack which kinda sucked mechanically for charge characters.
I really want to see my favorites return more than ever now just to see the animation treatment they get.

I'm expecting Guile. Could be involved if Nash is back, especially since Nash changed so much.
But yeah it's between him and Ken. I'm not really counting Akuma.
I'm really hoping for a boxer though. Balrog's chances are really slim but Dudley is still good, I think. Unless one of the new characters is a boxer, which would be more than okay actually. Hopefully more outboxing than infighting.

I think people should stop thinking in terms of "a a character from sf2, a character from alpha, a character from 3rd strike" because it's never been about equal representation, even when it came to bringing characters back to 4.
