I missed a bunch of it. Any highlights? Any upcoming BC titles confirmed?

Still crazy to see the difference in xbox attitudes between Phil and his predecessor

He is good at his job, knows what to say. Like actually talk about playing games and how to PR.
Which is significant because his predecessor was really was bad at it. Like those several foot-in-mouth remarks E3 2013. Remember Mattrick's backwards compatibility remark?

My main worry is publishers who don't give a damn. Like will Capcom bother to allow Dragon's Dogma to be played? What about games who were owned by defunct companies/publishers and whose rights didn't get picked up? A publisher needing to approve could hold back a lot of games.

"that shit totally works and is awesome, but fuck you we have a HD remaster coming out next year."

Again, that only says it's free. You still need a account (even if its a fancy new win10 xbox account) of some kind, so the game's will be tied to said account, so it's gfwl2.

GFWL was also free by the way

You need an account to run Windows since Windows 8... It's all the same account, it's all linked together.

I just don't want to deal with any framework Microsoft has created whether it's free or you need an account or whatever. Just like I don't want to deal with u play or Rockstar social whatever. Pull your crap out of the game and just put it on steam.

I'm more worried about all the publishers (including MS apparently, because if it's so seemless why are almost all Microsoft titles missing from the list) saying no because they want to reserve the right to release an HD remaster later.

That's also a big worry. A publisher might hold off giving the green light even if they have no plans to do a remaster just because they want the option in the future. I really hope it turns out well, I still have no idea how games with no right holders will work. An example is Kingdoms of Amalur. No one bought the ip iirc so will it never be approved for backwards compatibility?

Isn't that kind of stuff already expected for newer versions of Windows? I dunno much about Windows 10, but I'm currently running Windows 7, because after I bought Windows 8.1, I hated it. Beyond the glitchyness that I got in games that I never have in W7, I remember it always demanded that I log in with my microsoft account, which is the same thing I use for xbox live.

And his reasons were valid as a gamer it wasn't his thing exactly. Many of us felt that way or liked one game but not the other. It seems like if you don't shit yourself your a killjoy.

The strange thing to me is that I think he's been positive about quite a lot of games - Just Cause 3, Horizon, he got excited about Hololens etc.; people ignore that, though.

cool, i'll look it up, thanks all

it's awful

has a really young Brad Pitt though

It's just one more layer of shit that breaks and they'll never fix and it'll all be fucked up in 2 years.

Well right now it's more like it's convienant enough for them that they can get away with it. Cross-platform play between fighting games isn't really an issue. Hell, SFV is doing it. Racing games also shouldn't be an issue. I'd expect Sunset Overdrive and an original Forza game to make it over next. Gears of War Ultimate on PC is seriously a remastered port of a Vista exclusive port. Where it gets irky is with Halo, they're probably gonna wanna keep that on XBOne

But these consoles definitely aren't going away for a while. The competition between PS4 and XBOne is definitely alive and well and the consoles are still selling.

yup, both consoles are doing well and it seems like the big exclusives are finally in sight. shit, the PS4 is still selling stupid numbers even without big exclusives. consoles aren't going anywhere anytime soon.
