Street Fighter 5 Beta sign up is live

This sign up is a public beta. You don't have to pre order.

The link on the OP just tell you to pre order the game to participate on the beta.

That`s the only information that they show you:

You can get access to the Street Fighter V Beta by pre-ordering Street Fighter V at the following retailers:

Gamestop Amazon Best Buy Playstation Network

Sounds like a fair thing to do to me. If it's really a beta test, you're doing Capcom a favor.

Yes, I'm doing THEM a favor, by getting to play a highly anticipated game 6 months early.

Gosh, what an imposition they are placing upon me.

Honestly, they should be paying ME to play a video game I want to play.

LOL.

...you are though. They need to sort out the netcode. Do you know how much time i've wasted in beta's for online games that were unplayable? Trust me, you are doing them a favour, and not the other way round. It's that kind of attitude that makes people pay extra for paid alphas.

I don't understand what's the problem with Amazon here. You`re supposed to cancel your order before they send you the game/charge you.

If you wait until amazon charges you to cancel than it's your fault and they should make the returning process harder.
If you do things like you suggest and abuse the current system then we can see changes in policy that won't be as easy to abuse which fucks it up for people who need to cancel for reasons other than a stupid beta.

Sure, but what's the number of people that do what i said?

And i can't see what's the big logistical problem for Amazon in canceling a order for a product they didn't shipped/separated. They just need to change the status of the order on the costumer profile, and that sure is made automatically.

But there's no point in discussing this. I apologize for even bringing this possibility to someone who might be interested in seeing how the games is, but don't want to drop $60 in something they aren't sure.

A beta is a beta. You're supposed to be evaluating the game, reporting problems etc. The game is far from done.

How the hell did we get to the point where game testing which is an actual thing people get paid for is seen as some kindness that can be dangled above peoples heads?

I wonder how many people interested in playing the beta for Street Fighter V have never played Street Fighter before and/or have no idea what they'd be getting. Probably not too many.

I remember actually beta testing games in small batches, being close with developers and reporting on message boards, and receiving some form of compensation afterwards for what was essentially work.

Ah well, will pre-order, play the Beta, and share my thoughts. :)

Well, the previous games are not a parameters to this. Every preview says that the game plays different in comparison to the 4th.

But as i said, it was only a heads up that was not well received. I'll refrain in giving this kind of "advice" in the future.

You get a nice static theme with the pre-order on PSN in NA.

I'm going to leave the second half for those who pre-order.

Damn Ryu on those roids.

Waiting for that Ken Dynamic theme

Pre-Order is for us in United States. No need in PAL

Thanks for the info!

But why Capcom choose this? That's kind of dumb that some people need to shell out money to participate in the beta.

If they know whats good for them he will be.

If not the backlash against Nintendo for BlasterBall Metroid would pale in comparison.

For if the strike Ken down, then fans will become more powerful than theycould possibly imagine

What a waste of a spot if he shows up.

It does play differently...just like SF2 going to Alpha and then to SF3 had differences The basics are going to be the same. This not a radical departure from other games...it's another 2D fighting game.

Now I'm just wondering if I should go to GS and pre-order now. Has anyone actually went to a store and pre-ordered SF5 yet? Not looking to do this online.

Because, unlike with an actual job as a playtester, you don't actually have to do any of that. You can just play the game, have fun with it, not report anything, and they aren't going to do anything to you. In fact, most people will probably be doing just that. Most people will not be using it as a beta, but as a demo to enjoy months before they would have gotten the game anyways.
